above the surface grass can spread to it, making it susceptible to corruption

as long as grass cannot spread to the dirt, it shouldn't be corruptible

terraria noobish player here(played a lot of hours, but keep restarting fresh with others who then get to hard mode or expert and then quit.) Hello Everyone. I have some progression questions that I am hoping I can get an answer or 3 from you all. I have beaten the wall of flesh MANY times on different saves and chars and then moved into hard mode and/or started an expert world. I rarely find NEW or better upgrades. I've tried digging around, trying bosses all over, and they are harder and drop more loot but nothing that seems to be meaningful, just new mounts and clothes or obscure staffs I'll never use (playing a melee char with bow as secondary, the only magic I'm using is potions for buffs and the staff that gives you a dagger summon.) the only new boss I've fought past wall of flesh is the queen of slime, and farmed a few mimics with no good drops. I did farm wyverns and harpies for wings. I feel so lost, I log in dig around, fight some new monsters that never drop anything other then money, get bored and log out. please nudge me in the right direction of where to go or focus from here. It would be greatly appreciated.
