It's just whatever colors they use for a sprite
As for how to use it, I can say in most cases colors range from
-colored, but dark outline
-shaded
-mid tone
-light
Exceptions vary, like if it's a huge sprite like the EoC it'll have a few shades to cover the area, and vice versa.
As well, again, exceptions exist, but you'll typically want to desaturate your colors a little bit

Oh. And when in doubt; pull up example sprites and color pick from them.

1. make a rectangular box with any type of solid block (make sure that it is heigh and wide enough)
2. add a door or 2
3. if you don't have one already craft a crafting table
4. you may use it as a table for the house or instead you can craft an actual table which you then place in the box you just built
5. craft a chair and place it in the box
6. craft background walls and place them inside the box (using the smart cursor simplify the placing of the background walls
7. craft torches and place one or 2 inside the box (torches can be placed on background walls, and not just on blocks)
   your basic house is done, it my explanation wasn't clear enought, you can try to follow the one in the tutorial world that you can acces to in the main menu of the game
   (also this is probably in the wrong channel, i think)

That's really great, I love how the hands have this gradient into the grassy greens, really puts emphasis on the dryad part, but the left hand looks a bit rough. The thumb looks fairly long and is longer than the right hand's thumb despite being farther away from the camera.

I am personally not much of an artist, therefore my criticism should be taken with a grain of salt, but I recommend using an art mannequin or other references, especially for hands as hands are incredibly difficult for most to draw. It helps really put into perspective how your character is posing and how the proportions should be, especially with how the joints are rotated. I went out of my way to try to copy your pose using an online mannequinn, and as you can see from the mannequinn, the right arm has a bit of a weird angle.
