thinking about getting into ultrakill modding, what are the major limitations? I've used unity before, I'm just curious if you can mess around with like enemy AIs/behavior or make level-wide gimmicks via script
The major drawback here is that their AI can be messy and tightly packed within a single method, so you're gonna have to either meticulously patch their logic with transpilers or copy a shit ton of logic just to replace the original one

ultrakill being made in unity is kind of both a good thing and a bad thing. there are generic unity modding tutorials that can be pretty useful to get started with
but as soon as you want to do something very specific to this game, you're probably just gonna have to figure it out on your own for the most part
we're just lucky that this game is mono instead of IL2CPP lol

Yeah, I was able to figure out how to save stats to a file using the ULTRAKILL MODDING FAQ, tutorials, Google, etc. But I have no clue what to do if i want to add a UI.
Also, definitely ignorant about IL2CPP, but isn't it just converting C# into C++ which is more performant anyway?

It has to do with how the code is turned into machine code, Mono is JIT and IL2CPP is AOT

does anyone know where exactly the damage values for the impact hammer are handled? or anything regarding it's calculations for damage or how it handles the damage area at all?
I've been going back and forth in the unity editor trying to find this and I just can't. I can see in unity explorer that its got a ShotgunHammer.damage field but I can't find where it's actually getting that value from
you'd probably want to just use a decompiler to check out the ShotgunHammer class instead

typically mods for the gaming industry are free. Technically, mod makers are allowed to sell their mods for money, but you're generally seen as a bit of an asshole if you do.

@inner nest Hey just letting you know your Ultrapain Refueled mod is somewhat broken and needs to be updated. One bug thing I've noticed is that the enemy resistances don't work; I tested a swordmachine with both 0 and 100 resistance to projectiles, yet stray projectiles still damaged/killed both so that should be fixed among whatever else, anyway hope you update it! I love the mod and its all its customization options!
Some other feature requests if you care for that: -An option for delay between stray burst shots. -Control options over enemy weapon performance like spread and damage bonuses (such as swordmachine & V2 shotguns and so on) -seperate shockwave damage changer -and the one im hoping for the most is more evasive enemies: give all* enemies random dodges and/or projectile dodges like the drone has. The goal is on harder difficulties I really want enemies to act as evasive as a 1.5x speed drone can be, specifically the other machines (especially V2) and higher tier enemies (Gabriel). Anyway those are my suggestions hope you decide to implement them, especially the all enemies dodge one. Thanks and good luck!
been trying to play around with angryloader but whenever i try to refresh the online levels page nothing shows, i have all the dependencies downloaded and it worked fine when i first used it, but gave up after. anyone know a reason as to why?

Hey guys, I've been looking at the BananaWeapons mod to try and figure out how adding custom weapons works, and I have a couple questions. I don't see any models in the mod file, are they added in by the dll file? I learned some Blender in order to make my own models and animations, am I right to assume that I'll be able to import my stuff to Unity to make them into game assets? Lastly, I'm using dnSpy and Visual Studio in order to view and edit the game code (BepInEx installed), are there other tools that you would recommend for a beginner?

models are other assets are usually embedded in the dll via something like asset bundles

but it's also a full decompile of the entire game
which means it can be used for making mods aswell

strange. i renamed the files that i was using for my rank ups the same name do i need to maunally mod them in?

you need to create it where it's looking for it (exact same name for each folder) and then move your pngs there
both new titles AND gray annoucers. grays shows up in the plugin config but newtitles doesnt
newtitles doesn't use plugin config, nor configy or anything like that
why would it say it needs a path to the r2modman file then?

Hey! i doubt anyone will do this but i was wondering if anyone could make a shader mod where the world is turned gray scaled like the roblox game REPRIEVE but have it not effect the hud like the custom color pallette I dont know if this is possible where it wont effect the hud. if not ill have to edit this in while making my video.
