- I've written extremely unoptimized mods myself
- I've written many prefixes that skip the original method, thus potentially ruining compatibility with other mods

Not sure if it's the right channel, but how do you stream ULTRAKILL on discord while R2Modman is running? I think it just captures the console rather than the game itself for whatever reason

I found its easier to do it if you un-fullscreen, select to stream it, then fullscreen
to clarify what I mean by "not work", there's a decent amount of tracks that are included in the registry but ustmanager isn't swapping them out when I put them in the text file
for example, 6-2 starts with two tracks, one played while gabriel is talking, and after he's done talking it gets swapped out for a second one. The second one, "Gabriel 6-2 Intro B" completely works. "Gabriel 6-2 Intro A" on the other hand... does not. No matter what I do with it, I cannot change that music
another example is 6-1's intro drone

which is pretty uncommon compared to most games lol but that should make it pretty easy to do that

there's no risk in trying. just copy your save, open the game, close it, and see if it syncs

There was. Outdated and deprecated. But you should be able to play it if you downpatch
The thing about 7-S is that it's a level with unique systems made specifically for it. You've probably noticed how blood acts slightly different there. This mod didn't really replicate the experience perfectly. Honeslty it'd be impossible to do.
On a lot of custom levels in Angry Level loader, my game often crashes when I die. (Levels such as Indulgence, Envy, Machination, etc.) I donāt have any other mods installed or anything. Iāve tried validating the game files already too. My PC runs Ultrakill fine.

if that crashes the game then its likely a specific type of checkpoint setup thats crashing people

im not sure then it could just be a thing with specific hardware, ive seen lots of people have the same crashes consistently in those exact same places
you could go to C:/Users/Name/AppData/Local/Temp/Hakita/ULTRAKILL/Crashes and look in Player.log to try and figure out what crashed it, I wouldn't send it here though since it includes your computer specs and probably some other info stored on your pc you ideally dont want posted in a public server
looking through someone elses crash log in the same place in 0-E they got the same warning hundreds of times directly before the crash so it could be tied to that but im not sure really

its 100% doable you'd just have to export and reimport all the geometry of every level in an entirely different way, map out bloodstain areas (and go back thousands of times to mark pixels that cant be affected by bloodstains to prevent softlocks) then deal with all the other stupid 7-S shit

missing dependency: using r2modman, the mod manager app for thunderstore, dependencies are automatically downloaded
outdated mod: wont work, downpatch if youre desperate
mod incompat: remove the conflicting mod, if you dont know which ones conflicting disable all your mods one by one until the problem stops
Personally I use r2modman, it's easier to use and launch modded games

I'm here for help with USTmanager as well actually. I'm trying to find out how to replace sounds but it doesn't want to change them at all, though changing the music does work. This is happening even with UST files downloaded from R2modman. On a secondary note, the ust.debug command isn't doing anything when I try to use it.
I wanna change the music using USTmanager, I just have never done it before and would love some help :/

To change the music go to Ultrakills game files on steam and open the UST file (if it's not there open the game once with USTmanager installed). I suggest you just copy and past the template folder and rename it and the UST file inside to what you want. Put whatever music files into the new folder and open the UST file with notepad or whatever. Find the level number you want a type the file name of the music you want for said level into the second quotes. It should look something like this.

I forgot the exact pathing, but ultrakill's level bundle files include all of the game's audio pathings you need to replace. I use UABEA to be able to read the bundles

in that folder is all of the level and layer bundle files and all of the other music ones
and that folder has a folder in it titled assets_assets_assets that contains the sound effects bundle
how do I open bundle files?
I downloaded UABEA, it can read those files
when you open one of the bundle files for the first time, it asks "This bundle is compressed. Decompress to file or memory?"
I found it best to select file, which prompts you to make a copy of the bundle that is an uncompressed file
and then if you need to open it a second time, you can open the uncompressed copy without needing to decompress it again
is there a debug, tool, or mod I can use to display what sound effects are currently playing? Like their file paths? That would be a lot better than what I'm doing rn, which is just guessing

You can fully quit out of Chrome and Firefox, that'd give you a significant boost probably

Ok, so, you downloaded Vanity and made a Rude project, right?
Next step is to open it with Unity. Don't worry about the specific Unity version. Just install the Unity Hub, find the button to open a project from disk, and it will prompt you to install the right Unity version. Once you finally open the project, you can make the level inside Unity.

this is mostly true unless the game is built using IL2CPP (ultrakill is not)
you should look at example code if you know c#

Dnspy is just to decompile the dlls to C#, I think a good example mod thats open source to look at is Ultracoins. Theres also youtube tutorials for basic UK mods

unitas is pretty good I've used it b4

it sometimes doesn't work great and it's also not playback in the inputs file sense

because usually if u want determinism its best to just play back the entire tas lol
but godot has a thing called --fixed-fps which speeds up the game a lot and also makes it a lot more deterministic

Dw, you're not the first nor the last. People ask so often it's an inside joke already
So the main idea of the mod is to add ways to further customize your Cybergrind experience, with a few options
Bosses: Can be enabled to have them have their own waves, or to simply spawn whenever
Enemy select: allows you to allow or forbid sone enemies from spawning
Special stages: Stages customized based on different layers. Lust might have the falling bridge from 2-1, Wrath might be underwater, etc. If this and boss are enabled then boss stages will be their home layer.
More enemies: Like the bosses, Prime souls (boundries will be put in place so minos doesnt kill himself), Minotaurs, Flesh prisons (no spawn, random enemy inside), Cancerous Rodents, and the twin bosses
Swordsmachining: Upon dying, bosses will go from Fight 1 to Fight 2 if enabled
Modifiers: Makes special changes, like
- Dead Heat Pulse: The heat mechanic from 0-E, you get cooled at the end of every round
- Ooh, Shiny: Every enemy is radiant
- Timebomb: You have the Earthmover explosion timer, but every wave cleared gives time back
- Iconiclasm: Idols spawn every wave and in higher numbers

i did try making it so ultrachallenge would instakill you everytime you took damage
but i had to use the damage function
just putting it into an infinite loop crashing the game every time i got hit

gonna try making it to restart the level when i take damage instead
but that is ALL damage including self inflicted damage

well with basic logic and programming knowledge you would know calling a function within itself makes an infinite loop
and the player dies if their hp is zero
I've thought up something like that, but idk how to do it
you could take extra damage from the back because of the coffin, but you passively heal
you don't actively heal like V1 though
much slower but tankier
my thought was that your health is limited to 25, but you no longer take 10x damage
effectively giving you accurate gutterman health
not effectively, that's just literally the health a gutterman has
think you'd be too squishy then, especially from the back because of the lack of shield
with the lack of mobility
that would be the same as V1 having 250 health
I would go for something like 300 HP and the style meter gives you dmg resistance, like the existing V2 mod does
remember you can't dash
also the shield does two things:
- reflects hitscans and projectiles that hit it
- gives a 33% damage reduction to attacks not granted by the shield
you either block with the shield or you tank that sht
would be cool if you also had a brief sprint
like very brief just faster thud-thud-thud
the problem is that if you use actual gutterman mobility you just can't beat the game
at most you get hard stuck on 2-1 because you can't long jump
thinking about it
the idea I had is that you'd have recovery over time from the coffin, and higher style increases hp regeneration
to prevent it from being too strong, it would be that type of healing where it scales the longer you go without taking damage, and a parry makes the rate jump up
nvm you just have to use gale instead of r2modman
that could work too, though then again what does style mean in the context of your limited arsenal, you have melee and the gatling gun, that's it.. maybe a conduction mechanic? Make the gatling gun shoot actual bullets/nails and then use a taser thingy to conduct
give the gatling gun an alt-fire
personally I like the idea of giving the gutterman its own unique weapon set
and have the gatgun be his main weapon, ye
having just one gun would get old, like playing ultrakill with just the revolver
a play as gutterman mod would be very difficult to create
you'd be very slow and lumbering in a game where speed is the name
it could probably be done but it'd be a little funky
