Yeah I think early it’s quite hard to get wins early. I think what helps is if you buy something with flat mult early like gros michel and then try and get something with chips. You probably want to aim to play as few hands as possible the first ante to save money, so try and get a high straight (minimum Queen to 8), a high value full house (something with 3 face cards and like 6s or above) or a flush with at least 4 cards above 8 or so. That will let you clear the first round in one and the second in 2 or in 1 depending on the joker you pick up after round 1.

Then you want to play hands that give you the highest value, ideally you also want to play around your jokers as well in later rounds.

Getting econ early is also important which is why winning in as few hands as possible in ante 1 is crucial

i was obsessed with mgs1...i remember reading the egm preview story about it over and over and over again one summer
then it came out and met and surpassed expectations

enjoyed mgs2 but not quite to the same level
really enjoyed mgs3, amazing game
played mgs4 but pretty late after game release, pretty good

All I want from a Metroid game is sick boss battles, world to explore, cool enemies and decent storyline.

It progressed the story in a cool way...not sure if you played fusion.

yeah i have a lot of takes on this

lot going on here

i think the ai filters are not good for some of the art styles, think in other cases they are incredible
it makes starfield go from abysmal to great, in the harry potter one, it makes it worse
for the resident evil one, i could understand if you were attached the character as she originally looked, you'd think the filter makes it horrendous/uncanny/slop, but to me it just looks better

ai/nividia in general has been harsh to gamers with nvidia pivoting away from gaming and ai increasing pc prices on stuff, so i understand the backlash on that level

so its artists/gamers/general ai hate creating a somewhat deserved/somewhat undeserved backlash

i know people in the past have gone nuts for realistic mods for GTA for example

even tho, that type of thing to me kind of messed with the art style, and wasn't my flavor, i understood why ppl liked them

now that its "AI" doing it, instead of the modding community, there is this massive backlash, driven mostly by the things i mentioned

another thing going on that i've thought about many years ago, was the idea of the uncanny valley and if graphics would ever truly get over the hump
i think we're at a point where its driving right up to the limit, and the closer you get without getting over, the worse it gets and maybe for some in this spot it looks horrifying for some/past the hump for others...i dunno just speculative
