Removal of song after advertisement.

Hey. I think I've encountered a bug.
Works for: Non Premium Users

Steps to reproduce:

• 1. Make a queue (atleast 3 songs)
• 2. Enable queue loop (/qloop)
• 3. Keep listening to songs peacefully until an advertisement comes to disturb.
• 4. Once the advertisement is gone, check queue. (/q)

You'll find that the song which was being played before the advertisement has vanished from the queue.

(I tested it 3 times before reporting it)

What do you mean? Rythm licenses its music, so they are already working with a lot of artists via their label. Just depends on who the label is and if Rythm is working with them, if I’m nit mistaken.

We'll take a look! I believe this issue is specifically if Rythm has stage moderator permissions. It seems to work okay without this (also including without Administrator permission) as long as you accept its hand raise request.

Howdy! Rythm automatically swaps what channel it uses to reply based on where the last command was used. You can edit what channels Rythm is allowed to be used in with the Allowed Channels option in /settings!

Hihi! On the sidebar here you should be able to see the extra Rythm bots. If you click their profiles there should be an "Add App" button on each that you can press to add them to your server!

Howdy! For clarity, Rythm should detect your session whenever you're in a VC with Rythm & you launch the web app. It should just pick the session up automatically. If there are any issues with session detection, normally just a quick reload of the web app or rejoining the voice channel should fix it. Keep in mind though that something will need to be actively playing before the sync banner pops up on the web app!

I followed this process for each channel:

• Join voice channel
• Play song
• Open rythm.fm/reload the page
  in channel A, it works and shows up the current song and queue
  in channels B and C, it never shows what's playing.
  I tested A, B, C, then A again, and A still worked after going through B and C and them not working

You can change what role is your DJ role in /settings which includes setting it to @everyone to give everyone DJ by default. Hi! This can happen when you're listening to a song that we don't have fully ingested right now. Rythm has an entirely legal library, so that means we go through a process to actually acquire songs to be able to stream them. Sometimes this means that we have the audio for a track, but not other things like album art or meta related data to convert them into a "Rythm Track" which we actually use to track your library.

You can tell if a track isn't imported if you use /np and there's no album art for it right now! (It'll be the Rythm Logo)

There is a more manual solution to what you're doing, but it'll take a bit to setup. In your server settings, there's an integrations tab that will allow you to block specific bots or specific commands from users. This can be configured on the role level or channel level. This means you can go through and disallow slash commands from the bots you don't want and allow them for the ones you do, but if you have a lot of bots this will take a fair bit of time to do

DJ mode is set to on in settings. If you type /settings, you can turn it off there. If you want to keep it on, the default role is called “DJ” and in /settings you can also change it to “@everyon e”(without the space as that word is blocked in this server)

Howdy! You can use the /settings to achieve this. You'll see an option called "Allowed Channels" which will allow you to make an included or excluded channel list. You can add the channel you want Rythm locked to in the list (this is only for chats! If you want it to be locked to a specific voice channel, use the Lock Voice Channel option) and it won't respond in any channels except for the designated ones. Once done you can run any command like /ping in the channel to rebind its reply channel, and you're all set!

Ahhhh wait my apologies, I was going through the motions and forgot you're subscribed through the discord store. Unfortunately we have no control over discord store refunds (only stripe refunds since we have direct access to the payment processor) since only Discord can process those, however they only give users one refund per account so it's probably not worth it. I'd say the route to go is just setting the sub to cancel & then hitting up the stripe version when it renews

Kind of - we've introduced both user and server wide premium. Server wide is more expensive than user-based premium, but it covers the entire server(s). Server premium may not show up in some countries right now however as we don't have prices localized everywhere currently, only in our most popular regions

I believe this is a bug on our end right now, I'll make sure to flag our developer for Monday. I believe this happens because of some funkiness with Discord, we've had to build some workarounds to get stages to function. The issue stems from Rythm having stage moderator permissions right now I believe, if this is the case in the server it'll automatically join the stage and not play properly. Without stage moderator permission it'll raise its hand first and request to speak, doing this should make it work properly if you need it ASAP.

This message only sends when no premium users are in that current voice channel with the Rythm bot. Rythm will also only send this in the channel it was last used in. So if you used any / command in that text channel as the last interaction to Rythm, it will send its own messages in that text channel.

Hey, so we've been having trouble with our bot. It plays a couple of songs, and then stops in the middle of the song. It's been doing this all day today. Pausing and resuming does nothing. If you don't plan on being selective with giving your DJ perms out and just want the whole server to have perms, you can also set the DJ Role to be @everyone in /settings and it'll grant everyone permissions without any role management

Autoplay is largely session based, typically we only fallback to your history when we can't find proper recommendations based on the tracks or autoplay was initiated with no tracks in the queue

You can reset your autoplay recommendations by manually queueing a song as well, this will entirely wipe autoplay and reset it to start using the manually queued track (and then subsequent autoplay tracks)

Default role name is DJ. As Rythm does not make roles, it will automatically sync with the bot if you make a role named “DJ”. This role does not need any permissions to run with Rythm. But you can change instead of making a new role in /settings . If you would rather everyone to have DJ, you can set it to “@ everyone”

@undone viper Rythm bot will only use the last text channel it was last interacted with. If you would like to remove access to be interacted to in a text channel, in server settings —> Intergrations —> manage —> channels then turn off the channels.

Yeah, it's very odd. I originally thought a mod here might have assigned it back, but over the past couple of days I noticed it just appears and disappears completely randomly. I did originally sign up through Discord and, after seeing some chat history, sounds like managing pro through Discord is a buggy and bad idea 😅

I did cancel, but the website still says I have pro through Discord until the subscription runs out (which is like Feb 20th if I recall correctly). Is there any way to cancel this on your end so I can sign up for server premium, or do I have to wait for this to expire?

Unfortunately with Discord subs we have 0 control over it since they're managing by Discord - super big apologies! It's definitely a convenient option for users who already purchase things through Discord (since your card is already saved), but it does leave us with a super limited ability to assist. Only Discord has the capability to do anything and they have a very restrictive refund & support policy 🙏

Depends in what regard you mean. You can set a DJ role via /settings (or create a role named DJ, which would be default DJ role) which would stop users from randomly disconnecting the bot, etc..

You can also use DJ only mode (also available via /settings) so no one but DJs can queue music, etc.

Howdy! There's a few ways to achieve this.

1. DJ Only Mode
   DJ Only mode in /settings will make it so only those with DJ permissions can use Rythm. By default, DJ permissions are given to those who have the DJ role (any role named "DJ" by default but this can also be changed in the /settings) or either Manage Server or Manage Channels permissions.

2. Discord Native Integration Options
   You can navigate to your Server Settings > Integrations > Rythm. From here, you can block commands from being run in specific channels, by specific roles, or by specific users.

3. Allowed Channels setting
   In /settings you can set an allowed channels list. If you make the only allowed channels ones that a specific group of users can't access, this will effectively block them from using Rythm

Has this server set any integration overrides in the server settings? It's possible the server owner has an override that's blocking this command from being used but your client is still allowing it to be run

Yup! As long as you purchase through the website & not through the Discord store we can process refunds and cancellations for upgrades. Really the different plans are meant to accommodate different kinds of groups. A lot of server owners of bigger servers will purchase server plans. Friend groups who hang out in one server often will also buy server plans too just for the convenience.

However, if you tend to listen by yourself or find yourself as the "DJ" of the group, user plans work great for that. User plans still share their perks to others, but they'll only do so while you're in the call. That makes it a great use case for people who find themselves controlling the music session quite often

Make sure Rythm isn't turned down on your end, ensure you have the correct output device selected in your discord settings, and check if it's only Rythm that you can't hear in Discord. If you can't hear other people, or other bots, that will help us understand what's happening!

If you can't hear bots but you can hear people, this could point to software issues as bots typically use a different way of transmitting audio than users do. Hi! You can use /skip and /play by default out of the box, however it is a voteskip and not a forceskip. If you'd like to give someone advanced permissions to do more disruptive commands, you can give users the DJ role (by default any role with the name "DJ" regardless of the permissions assigned to the role). You can also set the DJ Role to be any existing role you already have via /settings (which includes the @everyone role to give everyone in the server DJ perms by default)

If a track isn't available at the moment, it means one of two things:

1. We had the track but licensing changes happened and the content is unavailable at the moment (this happens all the time in music, but typically isn't common for more popular tracks)
2. The track isn't done being processed by our system, so we can display that it exists but don't have the audio & other info for it quite yet (so it'll be available with time)

After you imported your playlist, did it say there were any songs still syncing? Sometimes we can't add every song to the playlist immediately so the rest of the tracks will be added after a moment. (Noted by the "tracks still syncing" number at the end)

I don't think so, it had songs from the very end of the playlist. So, I added the missing ones manually since the playlist wasn't too big (103 songs)

Sometimes it isn't necessarily the order of the songs (so a particular song may still be syncing from the beginning while it continues adding the rest)

As long as the song was on our platform, it should add it within 24h to the playlist (most of the time it's a lot quicker than that)

Howdy! Rythm works for this provided the music you're trying to play is licensed. Rythm is a licensed service, which means we don't rip the audio content from youtube videos for playback, we instead match the tracks to our library & play them. If you're trying to request giant hour long mashup videos, those wont play directly.

The website does work for bot sync, if you have the website open while using the bot it'll sync the two together and anything you play through web will instead play through the bot

Make sure the bot is in your voice channel & that you've signed in through your Discord account on web! You should be able to just run a /join and then start queueing things on either web or through bot commands and it should sync up. You'll see a purple banner appear near the web player controls when it's synced

If you don't see anything sync immediately, try running a play command through the bot instead and it should trigger the sync

Hihi! This is posssible - you can import the playlist into Rythm (putting a playlist link into /play will give you a link to the import page, otherwise you can just visit your playlist tab on https://rythm.fm and press the import button)

Once imported, you can play that playlist by putting the rythm playlist link into /play or by playing it on the web app (which also works to sync to the bot, so you can just use the web sync as an easy way to play it as well)

The mobile channels here are super old hahaha, most of the actual testing is done in the alpha server now but there's no active testing for mobile going at the moment

yeah btw could we combine the 2 servers again? 😅 it would be really good and intuitive also because discord's server join limitation is really disappointing and really aged compared to other social media apps. I cant join a lot of servers still :(( but I'm not going to leave testing Rythm just curious why did you create another server for this purpose when its that easy as having seperate private channels for it but alriight

We try to do as little changes to this server as possible, especially because historically discord didn't perform well with changes to bigger servers hahaha. There's a few times where it took hours for us to make changes because the server would go unresponsive or even go offline while we were making channels or new roles

We also have a policy to not delete things just in case we need them again in the future for any reason, so we have a lot of channels in this server that are archived

(those are all generally at the category channel limit)

Hello, I posted about three days ago about a playlist not importing all the songs from a Spotify playlist into Rythm. Currently, it's still at 91/103 songs. Also, I saw a few posts above about a similar issue with songs being greyed out? If it's not too much trouble, could I ask you to look into these and/or forward them as well? When I import a playlist that has one song that is 30 minutes long, it gets stuck on "still syncing". Is there a limit to the size of a track that can be synced?

Typically when you import a playlist, the very last screen of the import process will have a message that tells you how many were immediately added to the playlist & how many are "still syncing" (which means they should get added to the playlist over about 24h)

How long as it been since the playlist was imported?

howdy! do you have Rythm set in Always Playing mode right now? You can run /settings to turn this off & that should make it disconnect after a few minutes!

You can send either a spotify link or a rythm link to the song (you can right click a song on Rythm to copy the track link if you're on the web app or desktop app)!

Hey uh... so I've discovered a weird bug with the rhythm desktop app when viewing my profile. I have tried multiple times to update my bio from within the app which says it succeeded but keeps returning "No bio yet". I even closed the app fully and reopened it to no effect.
However, I noticed that when I checked it via the website for my profile it had updated...? I'm a little confused, is this broken on the desktop app currently? it seems odd that the profile view seems to not be updating properly in the desktop application. 🤨

should be able to /join and it'll be good to go, you may need to /play one track to have the sync pick it back up

We've started a rolling update to all of our pods to tie up any loose ends so you may see about ~5 minutes at most of downtime somewhere in the next two and a half hours (unfortunately this is the only way for us to do updates, we're forced to bring it offline temporarily but we've tried to optimize as much as possible to make update downtime incredibly short)

We do have a session resume system in place for updates however so if this happens mid session it should rejoin & pick up your queue automatically

You can kick the bot from your discord. If you can still see the / commands, this would be local in your account.

Account settings —> authorised apps —> Rythm —> deauthorise
