That's the only really essential thing. You can do others, like set RGB, fan curves, or disable legacy boot, but you'd probably know about those if you needed them now

From there, boot into your operating system installation media. Should be a "boot override" or some menu that lets you boot into a drive (not called boot order)

I poked around in the BIOS when I had to reset the OS and it looks like I can control the fans that way but I'll look into that

It's very limited in bios and usually target the cpu hot spot which is terrible

It will cause fans to spin up and down fast creating an annoying noise for opening Google Chrome
Also you can target fans based on more sensors like GPU temps or create a combined curve that spin the fan if any of your components heat up like cpu and gpu.
