There can be very sharp corners or bridges where you don't have optimal vision (old buildings are often warped and the streets have odd angles). I've been to italy, france and luxembourg and have encountered these same visibility issues. Often streets are crowded with parked cars which also greatly decreases visibility. In newly-built areas this isn't a problem but it's nonetheless highly prominent in the city centres

Yes traffic lights for pedestrians and bicyclists have a beeping sound too. You tend to lose focus after waiting a minute (especially on a daily basis) and the few seconds people need to react to the light can greatly decrease traffic-efficiency. It's a very simple yet effective solution.

But if it was AWD, it should be kept at it's factory height

If it is a medium or super duty truck that is designed to carry heavy loads or tow, it should be kept at it's factory height
