I'm guessing the speed/kmh diagram shows the speed / acceleration throughout each driver's lap. Norris has a huge advantage into T1, as he didn't lift during the yellow flag.

This means, Norris went fastest of all, while the delta diagram shows how much the gap to the other drivers has increased, which is somewhere between 0.6 - 0.7s for the other drivers. The delta peaked shortly after T1, because that's where Norris gained most of the time during that lap.

People won't like me for saying this, but he was just in the right car at the right time with the right team mates. The Merc was the best car by far for at least 9 years in a row. Stats don't tell the whole story, I don't even know why people mention this guy in the same breath as Schumacher. They're not even close.

The fact he even got beaten by Nico to a championship should show you that he is not the greatest. Nico was good but anybody on Senna's or Schmucher's level would have never gotten beaten.

If he hadn't gone to merc, he would just have one driver's championship and very normal stats.

Case and point look at the last 3 years and look at the stint between '09 and '12 when the car wasn't the best. I would even say, in 2020 Verstappen was already better but he just didn't have the car. The fact that he almost beat Bottas in the WDC that year even though Mercedes clearly had a ultra dominant car should show you that.

Is he good? Yeah sure he is. He's just not as great as the stats will make you think and he's definitely not comparable to Senna or Schmucher

Yes, contrary to what many people might believe, I think Quatararo is on the same level as Marquez. It's hard to compare them because they've never really had equal machinery. But those are the 2 aliens at the moment. When is Marc retires, Fabio should be the one that's dominating if he a decent bike. Third one that could be a part of that club later on is Acosta but at the moment I just don't see it.

But everyone else apart from those three are definitely below in terms of skill and ability.

I don't know if you're aware, but at one point Schumacher had to be hospitalized, and after that he had to end his career due to his inability to continue in F1. Lewis Hamilton is currently at Ferrari and they themselves say that Lewis Hamilton is a driver at the same level as Schumacher and that he is at the same level. They are the two best F1 drivers in history, the only ones to have won the F1 world championship title 7 times. Hamilton has almost double Schumacher's podium finishes, etc.

He is very often in the top 10 in each of these races.

It's like saying Lamine Yamal can't be at Lionel Messi's level

Schumacher was hospitalized after his 2nd retirement. He stopped driving for Ferrari in '06.

Been watching this sport for 25 years, trust me, it's pointless to even compare the 2. Lewis is talented, but isn't in the GOAT debate imo.
