hell even coded my own bot a few times, if your smart you use github/gitlab for development and have sufficient logging to immediately know what change broke the bot and how to revert it

if there is no eta, is it possible we can know what is the reason for a lack of eta? any transparency at all? personally ive already started investigating and learning other bots to potentially replace probot ngl

i can understand your frustration, but the lack of updates is because this outage is still being investigated and from my point of view, the only update users want is "this issue has been fixed"

why would they have interest in knowing specific details about what mitigation procedures we're taking and that stuff?

please don't jump into conclusions. there could be other reasons like "probot premium isn't that spammed and doesn't have lot of traffic like the free one has, so the issues don't affect it like it affects the premium version" for example.

fair enough. and i dont mean to dismiss the work thats been put into it or how much probot offers for its cost (free), it is one of the best standalone bots ive used since becoming a server operator/developer. for this reason i have no less than 6 servers, 4 of which are public that are running it, and for the most part ive never thought about switching or replacing it, but this over reliance has caused some major issues in the downtimes.

ive already switched over some of the more critical functionality to other bots in the meantime, but theres more things still that would require an enormous amount of effort to rebuild so the lack of an eta gives me some cause for concern in not knowing when things might get resolved. just speaking for myself out loud 🫶

usually things are resolved rather quickly ill admit, but i also observed there was some pretty major functionality that was impacted before the recent status announcement

if it were easy to maintain a bot like this, everyone would do it. as it stands theres a few main contenders that are go-tos and staples in the vast majority of servers and probot stands among them. but yea, it is hella frustrating to have it down for days without an eta

anyway. i wish you guys luck in resolving things quickly.
