Thanks for the kind welcome. I think I can wrap my head around most of it, mostly just curious what the functions of "Voice Online" and "VIP Protection" are.

Let me begin by describing the VIP Protection. It's essentially advanced server protection in which you can set command limits such as 1 ban per day for a specific role or permissions limits such as allowing a specific user to delete 1 channel/create-role/etc.. per day, and if the user exceeds this limit, you can choose one of three actions from the list (because you're a tier 1 subscriber, you can only choose remove administrative roles from user). I'm not finished yet! Aside from these restrictions, you can restrict the dashboard for your server. And to allow specific user to have access you will have to enter their IDs in the vip module, as well as restrict the protection module to only the ownership.

And the voice online features essentially count how many people are connected to voice channels.

Yes, you will need to enter a limit, and once they reach that limit, they will no longer be able to use that command ( if they were using a command and you set a command limit). If they are manually banning users, you will need to set a limit for that as well, and once that limit is exceeded, that user's role will be removed.

1 - enter https://probot.io/dashboard
2 - make sure to be logged in, open your server's control panel from the left side, enter the section depending on the command.. (Utility/Music)
3 - you've to edit each command in case you want them all to only work in 1 text channel or more
While editing, set your server's bot commands channel by "ENABLED CHANNELS", save changes and leave.

Notice: Be sure the Probot✨ role is higher than other roles. Embed message should not have any blank element (better to remove them if not using).

This level is then manually removed by a mod after the user wriites an intro. In the past few days, probot has started giving the role back again after it is removed. Looking at the audit log, this appears to be a recent change, and not how the bot has always behaved.

it's not a recent change actually it has always been like that
probot updates user stats when they gain text xp (when they send a text message in a channel where they can gain xp essentially)
and upon sending a message if the bot realizes the member has to be given a reward role it gives it, even if its manually removed the moment they gain text xp the bot will keep giving the role they deserve to get via leveling system back to the user

If the role is removed by the bot, rather than manually, will it still give the role back?

as long as they deserve to have that role it will

lets say you have a role for level 1, another for level 5 and i as one of your server members am level 2 and have the level 1 role, you can remove it as much as you want whether manually or by using a bot, until i reach level 5 the bot will keep giving me level 1 role back (assuming level 5 role has remove the previous role option)

So if, for example, the role was removed as punishment, you'd have to reset their level and give them a no xp role in order to keep them from getting it again.

the role is only given when xp is gained so you can remove the role and give no-xp role as well if you believe they should still keep their xp after the end of punishment

Dang, is there a way to notify the staff when the automod deletes the message without using the deletion log. I help moderate a server that uses Tupperbot so, as you can tell, every message Tupper deletes will be logged and it'll be quite the annoyance. So far we set the auto mod to delete and warn any blacklisted words

and i turned on the mod commands and tried to lock a channel in my server and it wasn’t working but the bot has all of the permissions

thats because at least one of the roles you give to people have their send message permission on ✅ and its overriding everyone roles send message permission

so there are 3 different permissions
✅ -> gives people permission and overrides ❌
❌ -> disables permission
/ -> gives people permission but does NOT override ❌

for at least one of the roles your members have you have the send message permission on ✅, which means its overriding everyone role permission (which is set to ❌ by the bot when you lock the channel)

finding it and setting it to / should deny people from typing when the channel is locked and give permissions to type when the channel is not locked

so when it comes to private categories roles do override “everyone” because not everyone can see certain channels until they get roles…is it different if that’s the setup?

those private categories, do they have 'view channel' permission on / or on ❌ (basically can they see the channel and not send messages or they can not see the channels)

when you lock a channel the bot changes @everyone send message permission into ❌, this is how the process works
since i don't really know how exactly your server works and how many roles you have got and what they do i can't say much but as long as you know how discord permissions work i believe you can make a work around
