But barline is right, rate limits are not related to shards. Shards are there to make the bot run better and smoother by spreading its operation over many smaller processes, instead of using just one. Rate limits are given due to exceeding various limits such as sending too many requests to the API. So, no matter if the bot doesn't have shards or if it has 5 or 5000 of them, it's still one application with an ID and token which requests are sent and operations are performed
