guys yesterday evening i logged out of the dungeon whilst i was on the step of killing the first boss and walking back to see the glowing orbs. the first time they were there.. however now they are not after resetting the instance doing the steps again. did something change?

Look at the tiles on the floor, they should have an owl face on them. Simply turn your camera so that the faces are the correct direction. I had that issue too 🙂

Thanks to the solver (addon and web tool) this puzzle seems doable. It just takes a lot of time to map. I haven't solved it yet but I can't imagine having to do it by hand ...

if you were doing it manually I'm pretty sure you could re-arrange it to be a regular lights out style puzzle where each one also controls its neighbours, rather than random connections, and also wrapping around at the edges.. which might help make it more intuitive. But that's also an extra step that might be quite complicated, and then after solving you have to convert backwards as well, just all sorts of extra ways to go wrong

Regarding the smaller orbs, do they represent your warden owl collecting the initial colours? It seems like i only have 2 mini orbs

this may have already been said, but with https://ham.io/watcher-solver/ there's always 5 changes to the board (usually 3 owls disappear 2 appear or 2 owls disappear and 3 appear). you can use the fact that there's always five changes to keep track when you update the board. Also its good to do a quantity check for each "column" A-E before you hit next.

It's not asking for grid input, it's telling you just to do something in-game and then smack next because it already knows what that owl does - it just needs you to press it to make an owl it doesn't know about active

Basically when this happens it is because the program needs you to input the last statues but these are not present on the board. So it just tells you "Hey, go click that one that we know will make the statue we are missing the input of appear" 🙂

My understanding is that the little orbs can indicate progress on smaller parts of the (larger) puzzle in question. For example, the 4 orbs around the 7 O'clock position indicates the buffs to your Owl pet being completed, the larger Orb indicates that the puzzle within the dungeon was solved.

Yes, but only one person can loot the Sentry Statue, and subsequently the Warden's Mirror. No confirmation on whether solving the puzzle grants group credit.

The 8 O'clock puzzle does grant group credit, and it requires items gained in the previous two puzzles, so it might be that only one person needs to "drive", if you will, as long as the group stays together throughout. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, the icons and statues are oriented to match a specific orientation in-game. You can pick any orientation and as long as you stick with it, it's fine, but I think matching it makes it easier to not mess up.

So I was AFK for a few while at the Statue after placing it. I got disconnected, and when I log back in, I spawn in Vault of the Betrayer where we killed Cordana. The entrance to go back up is closed. I ran off the ledge and died to try and respawn back at the entrance of the dungeon, but it will only zone me in in this spot. I hearthed and flew all the way back to rezone and again, it swapnws me by where you killed Cortana. How do I get our of the loop? Do I have to start the dungeon over from scratch?

Yes, you'll need to reset instance , good thing though is your owl pet still had the white orb so just repeat the steps to get back to the puzzle and you can begin again

There is a trick that helps memorizing them
You can click twice in the same statue (need a bit of timing, not too fast nor too slow) and it will go down and go up again, revealing all correlated statues

the left side of it is the statues that have had their input recorded. the right side is where you input the statue you clicked and then the 4 statues that moved (up or down). once you have the left side full you should just be left to input the current statues that are up and it should give you the solution based on whats up.

you need to fill all 25 slots so it knows what happens when you click each statue.

wow, this one was fun to solve, kudos to the ones who figured it out. Ended up having to use the ingame addon to make the grid as it was easier that alt-tabbing back and forth, then using https://migwynkriid.github.io/owlpuzzlesolver-wow/ to calculate the path to resolution

No, you must map all 25 statues. If one that you need to map is not up, you must find one that is up that touches the one you need. Click that statue, set your board accordingly, and map the next statue.

That is odd. Most people reporting this issue have been on Heroic or Mythic difficulty, and resetting to Normal has resolved it for them.

My only recommendation would be to reset the instance again, ensuring it's on Normal difficulty. Good luck!

Yes, I did it again but this time on heroic and no issues. First time i got stunned as soon as i tried to leave the platform and lost the orb, or if i took the orb close to the elevator it was removed as soon as the elevator started moving.

If anyone is struggling to get the owl buffs, try and make sure your island is quiet. i spent over an hour last night but just couldnt get blue for the life of me and there were people everywhere. 5 minutes with war mode on today (no people) boom - Blue.

No they stay, you can get 3 and go back the next day for the fourth for example like I did. Stand in one long enough and your fledgling bird will fly in a circle around you and a magnifying glass will appear and "ding" indicating you got it. Once you get all four the owl will get a white orb above it's head. At any point you can go inside the entrance doorway to vault of the wardens and there are four owls. In the empty space under them will be a highlighted colour for the ones you have obtained.

You'll just have to redo it. It does that trapping thing after you leave and return same day on Heroic or Mythic.

don't waste your time with addons etc, just use this tool for the watchers puzzle, I tried first time and it worked. Does all the leg work, just be patient and remember to click on the owl you clicked on ingame (red owl on tool) https://ham.io/watcher-solver/

@rough rain I worked with this person (screenshare) to confirm that they are doing the puzzle correctly - they are on an EU server, I am usa... but they are unable to solve this with the addon or the website... both simply gets stuck on any difficulty. He may be stuck until reset day... but if someone from the EU can step in to see if this is something that can be resolved.

I mapped along with this person, no solution was found. just freezes up, then has no solution. Spent about an hour or so on this... help pls.

Cause it sounds like their original watcher puzzle that never got reliability triggered/solved more than the felcycle one with the statue changes. Unless they hot fixed it to be less resettable for some reason

Yeah, that's a basic lights out puzzle like the WQ usually deploys. Presumably if you solve it and get it out of the way you can do the felycle one with your own watcher statue

I think an off the shelf "Lights Out" solver is supposed to work for the 'easy' WQ version, but I've never done it actually (just read about it), so can't verify

unfortunately no 🙂 since it's a toroidal (without boundaries) those solver really don't work - at least I haven't foiund one

Since I wanted to show how to solve the "easy puzzle", I've just done it on an alt and found something probably interesting, since I was given the Warden's Mirror without me doing anything regarding the Secret on this alt at all. Also I have not unlocked the WorldQuests.
I also didn't need to clear the dungeon, didn't get the owl from the secret room and have done anything else than running straight to the boss, kill him, solve the puzzle, loot.

For anyone struggling with the puzzle, set these combinations into the add-on and make sure you are standing from the red dot to orientate yourself, then you should complete it. these are what i used to do it

Tips on using the addon you do have to be extra carful and make sure you stay aligned to the same side. You do each number until they all light up with four panels each that have changed in them, if you have more or less you did something wrong on that panel so try and get that particular one back up and mark it again for changes, but the key to using this addon is this. Before you click on the next colomn you are going to click on, make absolutely sure that your board matches what you are currently seeing on the board on the addon. Then click on the next one you are wanting to solve, click all the changes and click solve. Then reset the puzzle on the left to the current map again BEFORE you click on the next column to check. If you do not you will not see the current results and mess it up. Do that, reset the puzzle configuration on the left then click the next one and repeat until all numbers when scrolled over show up with a solution. Once all of them have a solution click solve on the main board not on the side answer board. If you did it right it will show the numbers to click in order of action. If you did something wrong it will not and you have to check each number again to make sure what is moving is correct. Make sure they only have four numbers lit up per solution move. If more or less that pin is wrong and will need to be checked. Make sure again before you check a pin, that the board is set to the current map on the board matching it exactly. Please use extreme caution to reset it before checking every pin and hitting the solve for the ones that have moved. You will be able to easily see the changes on the board if you do. Hope this helps.

The owl statues puzzle is a case of documenting each statue and the other 4 statues it makes change. You need to record each of the 25 statues and those 4 it affects. It is virtually impossible to do this without first mapping that out. If some statues you still need to map are not up, use other statues until they rise.

Tips for mapping:
screenshotting the area before and after the click can be handy to spot the 4 changed easily
make sure you pick a corner to assign as position 1

Once the mapping is done, the easiest way to solve it by then entering all the mapping into a solver app (you can do this as you you are doing the mapping). Then after all 25 statues' moves are entered, enter the current "start state" of which statues are up and then get a click sequence.

used statue solver for the puzzl but after 2 h's i get the message plz map all statues before solving expected 125 mappings got 127 .... got the print grid but addont wont solve it think im screwed

nope just go over the map on the left, see what is lit up and make sure there are only four numbers on each number, any more or less you do have to correct that owl and make sure it is only showing the corrected moving statues.

If you scroll up I have very clear directions I just posted earlier to someone else to help guide that part.
