start making projects as soon as you understand how to read and write code and how to work through code logic. as you make the project, you'll run into stuff you don't know. google that stuff. keep googling. keep searching. you will not only get good at coding but get good at knowing what to google when you run into an issue

javascript is a bit messier of a language but very flexible in what you can do with it
and java is good for being more robust even if a bit verbose
