Hallo
@late patrol morty!
Hallo
Whats up
@sudden panther @craggy marsh @pallid kelp @peak burrow @autumn matrix
Ladies and Gentlemen give it up for the long awaited, much anticipated, alien edition
SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) has detected no ET signals from stellar systems, despite half a century of activity. The Fermi paradox is the contradiction between the lack of evidence for extraterrestrial civilisations and the high estimates for their probability.
Michael H. Hart Summarised these arguments as such:
- There are billions of stars in the milky way with near identical conditions to the sun.
- There is a high probability that orbiting these suns are earth-like planets, some may have already developed intelligent life.
- Some civs may have developed interstellar travel, like the earth is attempting to.
- The milky way could be completely traversed in a few million years even at a "slow" pace.
- There has been plenty of time for all of these points to have validity, as many of the stars similar to the sun are billions of years older
Multiple hypothetical explanations have been offered to make sense of this paradox. Here are the most common and most accepted ones:
Rare Earth Hypothesis
Planets with complex life, like earth, are extremely rare, and intelligent extraterrestrial life is highly improbable. The confirmation of exoplanets leads to the prediction of billions of habitable worlds in our galaxy, however the conditions needed for the evolution of life, or at least biological complexity, requires a continuous habitable zone, a giant nearby planet like Jupiter and the moon to protect it from asteroid impacts, magnetosphere and plate tectonics, atmosphere, oceans, and many more, without even getting into conditions for advanced life.
Gaian Bottleneck Hypothesis
Astrobiology suggests alien beings failed to emerge quickly enough to stabilise the planet and pave the way for more life.
The Great Filter
Earth was subject to five mass extinction events that each wiped out the majority of its complex species at the time, but nevertheless developed and retained them. Habitable planets may haven been hit by asteroids, solar flares, torn apart by geological upheaval, supernovas or gamma ray burst radiation, and extreme fluctuations in temperature, and out of it earth was the only to survive. Abiogenesis is a process of increasing complexity involving self-replication, self-assembly and auto-catalysis. They may also have died or destroyed themselves (war, accidental environmental contamination, resource depletion etc.).
Great Silence Hypothesis
Advanced beings belonging to a type III civilisation - those able to harness the energy output of entire galaxies - do not see the need to reach out to carbon-based Type 0 bipeds. The zoo hypothesis tackles the opposite end, which claims we have been left alone to allow for natural evolution and sociocultural development, similarly to people observing animals at a zoo. Aliens might choose to allow contact once the human species has passed a technological, political, or ethical standard.
__ First life__
The last star will burn out 100 trillion years from now. About 92% of the planets that will exist in the universe have not been formed yet. We are simply the first in a long history of life. Even if life is common, intelligence is not. Our methods of detection cannot tell if life present is intelligent. Life on earth has existed for 4 billion years, but life with the genus Homo only 3 million.
We're looking for the wrong thing
SETI focuses primarily on detecting radio signals that differ from the norm. We are currently relying on either more sensitive equipment or fortunate circumstances, and that the radio signals sent out are much stronger than our own. Perhaps we should be looking instead for solar-harvesting, non-carbon based structures, or consider that radio is surpassed by other technological advancements in the future. Radio-leakage from our world happens less often as we advanced to fibre optics and spread-spectrum transmissions. Perhaps species have transcended to a fully virtual environment, ignoring the external physical universe. A message broadcast by us may seem like background noise to another species, or the only intelligent life is akin to that of a dolphin. Intelligent - yes - but not able to build a spaceship for sure.
Too long and too far
SETI has barely touched the surface of the radio universe, leaving many many more wavelengths to scan. 46.5 light-years marks the distance of the observable universe, and we've only made progress on the first 40,000, barely passing the bounds of our own galaxy - 100,000 light years wide. Our technology could simply be not enough to find them.
If two civilisations are separated by several thousand light years, it's possible that one or both may become extinct by the time meaningful dialogue can be established.
Possible but improbable
Most exoplanets are giant, have very thick atmospheres, and orbit so close to their host stars that they're hotter than venus. Of course there may in reality be a far more variable set of characteristics for exoplanets, but with current technology these are the most likely to be observed. There are however now, due to refinements in observations, a very short list of planets that could potentially mirror conditions on earth; close to earths size, temperature, surface gravity, and density. However even then an atmosphere similar to earths would be extremely reactive and won't last long without replenishing.
To conclude…
It is now believed that most stars in the galaxy have orbiting planets, and that having mutliple planets in orbit of a star is more common than not, meaning there is likely to be more planets than stars in our galaxy. With 200 billion stars observed in the milky way, plus the fact we can see traces of life 4 billion years back (thats not including life that didn't leave evidence up til the modern day, which could potentially be older) meaning life already existed while the planet was still young, leads to a strong implication that life on other planets, despite extreme conditions, is possible, even in our universe.
wtf these are still happening? Pog
i got hit by a wall of text
What did I just read
@graceful path whats up

I always have problem trying to find a way to express the German uh in English. Best I came up with ist ou. Is there an official way?
Tja
uh (de) = oo (en)
Uh (en) = meine
Idk if that answers your question, could you explain what yupu mean?
The English uh is like ö with your lips pulled bit back
Yes. I know what the English uh means and how it's pronounced. Has the oo approach the same meaning as the German uh? Or is it just the same sound?
Dunno what yupu means either 👀
Ohhh, you had a typo and meant you?

Hallo Zusammen!
Hat jemand eine Erfahrung mit Sprachtandems?
hallo was ist Sprachtandems?
ach so 🤔
interresant
this is the first sentence I've read on here that I 100% understood without guessing 😅
Ayy, nice!
Lmao my german is just my english speaking brain adding a german accent to it xD
Story time. @regal lantern
I don't delete my alarms I just leave them for later use and switch them on when I need them. I basically have over a 100 alarms all in random 5ish minute intervals. So today I set one for about 9am and I was awoken by "wake the fuck up arrem wake the fuck up arrem" and I was scared as shit for a second until I realized what happened lmfao.
cc @nocturne frost
lmfaoo you beautiful man
i was wondering recently if you still used it :')))
@tardy palm might just move the conversation from questions
The book was written in the 70s and follows a lot of fears and the general mentality of moving from handcrafts to more industrial level processes. So it follows a lot of ideas about how stuff needs to be done more efficiently and faster, thus leading to a loss of individuality and pride in the work of many craftmans. The book also takes place in a poor area of town, so it also covers some points on happiness doesn’t come from money, but from interactions with others @tardy palm
Its also a Childrens book, written somewhat from the perspective of a child. So it trys to capture a lot of the childlike sense of freedom and imagination
I disagree with that a little bit though. Money may not equate to total and utter happiness, but I would definitely not be happier living out on the streets and begging.
Whilst glossing over a lot of difficult problems that occur in life
It was a common theme from that time period
The book even has a character that was poor, wanted to be rich, became rich, then lost a lot of the love they once had for their craft
So it really drives that idea
🤷♀️
I don’t think I would want to be filthy ass rich either, but I also wouldn’t wanna be poor.
I think you need balance.
Yeah it talks about that too
For a childrens book it is a really good read
I was impressed by it
I actually need to go do homework now though
Likewise ;-;
Ttyl
Hallo alle Zusammen!
Hallo
AHAHA AHA OMH
Actually it's the same story for me. Pfft imagine actually deleting your alarms
What's scary?
I have to think about the word genders and the Kasus and stuff
Ah lol
Nope I was just hoping to get some of it
you were doing fine for that then
Im generally good at Leseverstehen
Sometimes I also forget an article or two, it's kinda inevitable
But I can't speak for my life
So Im just binging a german tv series hoping to get something out of it
I remember being drunk in Germany so many times just talking in German for like hours
Lmao
Which one
Probably depends on the topic though
It's really bad but I love watching things that are absolute crap
So it's perfect
Türkisch für Anfänger
ahh I heard of that
That would actually be a really practical language to learn because lots of turkish people live in Germany, and usually the ones who grow up there have better German, but they still randomly will throw in a turkish word when they talk
It's really interesting
Btw a thing I wanted to say, I hope it won't offend you or anything
But when I was 11 my mom was constantly forcing german onto me and now I basically hate it
And I'm learning it just so she can stop
Slang is one of my favorite parts of any language
Lmao what...that's weird that she is forcing it
guy can any one help me plz
She kept saying that it would be useful to me and that is should learn it
Even tho I didn't like it
And even signed me up for a course for 2 years
Well I think that makes learning any language a lot harder if you just hate it
Whereas if you love the language, it is a lot easier
And her reasonings were always " you are really good at languages you can do it if you just try a little"
Idk cuz I live in europe and it's apparently the most important language
Why doesn't she want you to learn Spanish for example
Spanish is really prevalent
It's actually got more native speakers than English
I really wanted to learn japanese but she didn't give a crap
So
Here I am learning german
And I even think I might've liked german by myself if she didn't force me to
That's weird logic...
Your mom: you are really good at languages you can do it if you just try a little
Also your mom: doesn't want you to learn japanese

Yeah cuz for her it matters how much job opportunities it has
Cuz most jobs in the vacinity require german and english
I got lucky with that actually. I never started learning German because of job opportunities
I wanted to learn it because I wanted to
And that's it
And that's how it should be
I should really learn a third language
(I mean I'm still gonna study japanese when summer comes idc if she likes it or not)
Yeah you should
You could learn a nordic language! They are supposed to be similar to both german and english
I think Japan has a really fascinating history
And I love the culture, love the people, love the customs
A toyota?
bruh plz help me
I was thinking of doing Swedish because I have Swedish ancestry
And I have cousins from Sweden
Mitsubishi
Man there are so many Japanese car brands
It's kinda funny
I only know 4 lol
There are more Japanese cars in America than American cars
I'm petty sure
Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Mazda, Lexus, Acura, Scion, Infiniti
Lol I thought it was european idk why
Idk I don't have any experience cuz I can't drive 😂
But all of my dad's cars were japanese lol
When can you get your drivers license in Bulgaria
Here you can get a drivers "permit" when you are 14 or 15 (usually it costs extra money to do when you are 14), and then you have to drive a certain amount of hours with a parent in the car before you get a license
I had my license when I was 16 I think
Actually yeah because I have been driving for 5 years
Well technically 4, because I lived almost a year long in Germany
And I have never gotten a ticket or into a car crash yet
I thought learning german might at least be helpful for university but it looks like I won't even be going there
Idk this is hard
You are also really young still
You won't go to college for a while
Lots of time to think left
Btw do you have any suggestions about what I could do to expand my vocabulary?
Cuz I really have no idea how germans normally speak or anything
But I hate getting bad grades
That's weird
Well, if you like reading, that's a great way to increase vocabulary, but I personally rarely ever read
I maybe should a bit more
But I learned basically all of my vocabulary from speaking / writing on discord
and also IRL
My mom is offering to speak with me in german but I'd rather go speak german with my local drunkards
Also I'm sure I learned some words from YouTube and other stuff like that
But she doesn't know German right
She does
My whole family knows german
Lol my brother went to college in München
Wait so how does she talk to you if you haven't even learned it yet
No I meant, that she is offering to help me speak
So that I can get some speaking practice
Rn
Is your native language Bulgarian?
Yeah
But your mom doesn't speak it? Bulgarian I mean
Lol even tho my german sucks I'm still supposed to be level a2
She does, she speaks only bulgarian and german
Ye here when we say someone speaks one language we mean except for their mother tongue
But A2 isn't supposed to be advanced at all
Cuz everyone knows at least one language
Makes sense
Still better than my german
That kind of reminds me of how in America we call the ground floor the first floor
But in Germany it's the ground floor
and the next one is the first floor
Lol yeah
I don't know how that reminds me of that
It does make sense
unrelated
I had to get used to that
And also to celcius
and to KG
I can understand Celcius pretty well
but not as well as Fahrenheit
And I still don't get fahrenheit
xd
Can u explain
and then 15-20 is like an OK temperature
some people say 15 is cold
but I think it's fine
I am from a place that is really cold in Winter anyway
Yeah 15 is okay
I know my weight in KG because sometimes I needed to tell people
But you'd still need a jacket
Pounds I've noticed are almost double of kg
But I'm not sure it's that's actually the case
Germany reminds me of the UK when it comes to weather, and I've never even been to the UK...it's because people from the UK complain about rain so much, and in Germany it rains a lot too, but for some reason nobody really complains about it
lmao
That'
oops
that's close
At the Gym I remember that 20kg = 45lbs
it's something like 2 times more
2.25
or so
now can u explain basic cold and hot of fahrenheit
and also we don't use liters
ye u use oz i think
yeah
its my first time hearing quarts
ye so 0 in C
and then
hm so 55-60 is kind of like room temperature
and then 70-80 is actually warm
lol i know that from sheldon
when you get into the 90s and up, it is hot
does it get above 100
room temperature is 20–22 °C (68–72 °F).
It depends on where you live to an extent
Yeah it does
it can go into the thousands, actually
also millions

but that is not weather anymore
that is a star
yeah
yeah
in Arizona in the summer it can get to 120
like summer in mexico or something
it's so shitty
I'm not from Arizona
But I have been in like 105 degrees before
And that already sucks ass
ive seen so many shitposts about arizona weather
i think the hottest temperature ive been in was 45
yay
or 50
that sounds terrible
tbh 5 C difference isnt that noticable
that's a lot more than 5 F
oh wait im getting the hang of it
thats like 20something
ye i think im getting it
so 90 would maybe be 35-40?
I honestly don't know why we use it here though when the rest of the world doesn't, same with the imperial system too
It's kinda dumb
Yeah
Basicallz
Now if you're ever in the USA you will know what people mean with Fahrenheit
OH yeah I also had to learn my height in cm too
bro if i ever went to the US people would think im a giant
but my height is semi-normal here
which is?
5'10
yep and it bit you in the ass
Well my brother is 15 years old too
And he is the same height as you
pretty much
I am 6'0" though
which is 183cm
thing is im still growing
lol
tbh i hope i stop
my shoe size is crazy too
im 10 and a half
male
not female
Girls usually grow before boys do too, like my sister actually used to be a little bit taller than me, even though she is 2 years younger than me, but now she is like 4 inches shorter than me
haha yeah
Well
If you grow freakishly tall for a girl, you could play basketball!!
yeah and i dont need to move as much
also in basketball you need to guard the ball and im really bad at that
Are you taller than your mom
Well....everyone who learns something new will suck at it at first. I don't think it's ever fair to just say you suck at it, because you can't get good at it if you never even try.
ive tried tho, i do just prefer volleyball
Same thing for me with German, I used to suck at it too
and i dont have to run which is a bonus
I'm with you all the way there...I hate running lol
I prefer lifting heavy weight
also the basketball ball is heavy and i dont wanna get hit in the face
volleyball ball ive gotten spiked in my face and it didnt really hurt
the basketball ball?
when referring to just the ball you can say the whole thing or just "ball", but nobody would ever say "basketball ball"
like
lol ive wondered about this for like 5 years, thank you
🏀
You could have just asked someone
and ive never really talked to anyone native
i shall trust you, chosen one
But I don't want to be American sometimes
lol i can guess why
There's lots of decent reasons
Stereotypes are pretty annoying for example
But honestly there's some stereotypes for lots of other countries
lmao I didn't even know that that was a stereotype, being ginger with freckles
You know what's interesting is that I live in one of the states with the lowest obesity rates in the USA, so I don't even see that many fat people
I am also not that
I mean I'm white but I wouldn't call myself "pale", that would be a bit of a stretch
Lol
Me neither
and they always wear a weird dress or a puffy suit
I mean I have green eyes and so does my sister, which is probably from the Swedish side of my family, because my grandma also has green eyes
But I don't have red hair
o i dont know anyone with green eyes
I actually know a guy on discord from sweden who speaks German at the same level as me, is 15 like you, and has red hair
lmao
lmao
what really
yeah ive never seen green eyes irl
Actually a "true" set of green eyes is really rare
Less than 2% of the worlds population have green eyes yeah
Mine are green but a lot of people would also call them "hazel"
Like they have shades of green in them but it's not the same thing as this
yeah i get what you mean
so kinda like this?
lol these eye pics are kinda freaky
Isn't that photoshopped though?
it couldve been a hue change too
Not to toot my own horn, but mine are prettier than that
lmaoooo
Hazel is still really rare too, according to the internet
so many brown eyes
oh shit apparently there's one color more rare than green
which is grey
im sad cuz my mom has blue eyes and i didnt get them
Oof
Blue eyes are pretty
You know the "blond hair blue eyes" stereotype in Germany right
yeah
it's funny because way more people have brown eyes there
than anything else
In my experience
lol maybe cuz there are a lot of foreigners now
But what's funny is that I lived with a host family for one of the 2 semesters, and all 3 of them had blond hair and blue eyes
nah, it
It's not that rare.
it's actually not a Germanic thing, more nordic as far as I know
that percentage actually accounts for all the blond people in the world
in Germany, it's not as rare
I never said it was a statistic for Germany..
yeah we meant worldwide a far as i understood
keep in mind that the number of Asian people with blond hair is extraordinarily small, compared to central europeans
I was talking about the entire population this whole time
right, but you were also talking about your experience in Germany
Yeah

But it wasn't connected, sorry for the misunderstanding
2% isn't common, but it's definitely not so rare that you would never see it irl.
I just made a small comment
but it's really an interesting fact, yes
well depends on where youre from
I never said it's so rare that you would never see it IRL either though, but 2% is rare imo, regardless of if you have ever seen it
Well, I'm from Australia and @tardy palm is from the US, so I'd say it's probably a lot more common than 2% in those countries anyway.
that percentage tells us that if (statistically speaking) we were to assemble a group of 50 people from all over the world, only one of them would have blond hair
over a third of these people would be Chinese and Indian already
my country is basically half greeks and turks so its not surprising that i havent seen green eyes
Yeah
My response was mostly about that picture you posted. It looks fake and you replied to that by saying "it's rare". I just assumed you meant that as a justification for why I would never have seen eyes like that.
Also iirc a lot of people from the middle east also have brown eyes
So my point is that it's not anywhere near rare enough for that to be the case.
How does it look fake
and the majority of Asians too
Did I say you would have never seen eyes like that?
it's a global statistic, accounting for the situation outside of Europe too
feel free to travel to rural China and count the number of green-eyed people you'd find there
Yeah, I'm talking about the picture here: #general-2 message
Something can be rare and also still be possible to come across
I don't see anything fishy about it tbh
Eyes don't have pigmentation like that.
Then what is a green eye
There's no such thing as true green eyes in the first place. It's more of a trick of the light.
Let me see if I can find a picture...
I mean yeah sometimes my eyes look dark if the room is dark
Otherwise they are quite light
the first indicator that it's edited is that there's no real pupil
and the conjunctiva looks injured
I didn't really look at it that closely lmao but yeah the pupil does look kind of too light
So I'm not sure which types exactly are counted in the 2% so I will just post a couple of eye colours which are typically labelled as green eyes.
I just glanced at it
I wonder if my doctor would know whether mine are green or hazel because now I don't really know
Which?
the first pair of green eyes we were talking about
Ohh.
Mine don't look like those
My eyes are lighter, and around my pupil there is like a ring which is around the same color as those pictures
a small ring though
Basically if you look at any green-brown hazel eyes and imagine the eye is only the green colour, that's usually how most green eye colours are.
Like this pic has green-brown and it's roughly the same as my eye colour also.
Thing is that hazel just looks like another shade of green to me
I don't even use the word hazel other than in the context of eyes
Yeah, hazel also has a few meanings.
Like there is hazel as in a type of brown and hazel as in two (or more) colours mixed.
isn't it also like a greyish-green?
This pic?
nah, just Hazel in general
not like green and grey separated but actually mixed
My contacts are blurry, I need to put some solution on them to see my own eyes well enough lmao
Hmm, but if it really looks like a mix of colours then yeah, most people will call that hazel too.
Although when the main colour is blue or grey they will probably just call it blue anyway.
Hazel is a lot of the time just for some kind of brown or brown-mix that doesn't look like the more common types of brown eyes.
As well as the green-brown hazel which is almost its own category.
I want to see which color you think mine are, I'm gonna take a picture because I really don't know. I don't see brown at all in my eyes. It's a mix of colors though so it might just be hazel as you said
Do you mind if I DM you it? @opal sequoia
Sure, feel free.
I can't say what it would be by the statistics chart but I can say what I think most people would categorize it as.
No I literally actually am color blind with a few colors, two of those being dark green and brown
Hard for me to distinguish
But btw, the pictures up there are of green eyes, because we were literally discussing green eyes, not brown eyes.
Also there’s quite a few pics up there so idk which ones you’re talking about
It isn’t just any random shade of green though
It’s some of the darker greens though not all of them
Like for example, the color of pine needles (not the dead ones lol), I would never mistake those for being brown
I‘m color blind with a couple others too but I can’t even remember what they are because usually I get corrected only for the dark green / brown one
Well color blindness comes in all shapes and sizes
Mine is very very mild
Which is kind of ironic actually since my eyes are more green than anything else
They’re way lighter than most of those pictures
They’re similar to the very last one but a different shade of color and slightly lighter I find
I also have that kind of darker ring around my pupil

I have never used that emote
That has to be the worst disgrace for an emote that I’ve ever seen
Ban oiler.
Go ahead
@jolly pollen sorry, no advertisement ^^
Hallo
ich habe Spätzle und Wurst Suppe gekocht
Ich liebe Spätzle und Huhn-Suppe
Ich liebe Suppe generell
Me too!
Kürbiscremesuppe, Hühnerbrühe, Wurstsuppe, alles super lecker
Alle Suppe ist sehr gut!
alles schmeckt besser in heißem Wasser
richtig
Hallo
Hm
so was denkst du?
So I never properly learned each level individually, but I would say it’s a bit above A2
Maybe B1
Neither have I that's why I took a guess
I know a person who is reading this book but its a bit more descriptive maybe a different translation or something
Its just nice to know how one could use words in a given context
What is the title of the book again?
Der Sandmann
I don’t believe people at A level have ever learned the Konjunktiv for example, and that text has it, multiple times. Also has a somewhat more complicated construction with „lassen“ near the beginning.
You learn Konjunktiv at B Level
I know that
Typically, anyway
I wasn't learning anything level wise..
Yeah I never did either tbh
I was happy recognizing "Oh that's how relative pronoun is being used, cool!"
But I know it’s B Level because in Germany I was in a class where the textbook said B2 on it and we reviewed Konjunktiv I and II
Ah yeah, nice
I remember when I first learned those
I was like, wow that makes a lot of sense
yea, otherwise they were feeling what are these lonely "der" and "die" doing here without a noun following them
Luckily it’s pretty easy to understand if you’re a native English speaker when it first gets introduced to you
People stress a lot on being native
Non-native can understand too, at least I didn't have any problem
The ones which are slightly more complicated are the ones which start with „den“ and „dem“ (also „der“ in dative). And also „denen“, in dative plural.
I‘m non-native as well and I can hold conversation for literally hours at this point (not to flex lol but it proves you don’t have to be native to be able to do that).
Usually never talk for that long in either language unless I’m drunk anyway lmao
I never learned about „denen“ in a textbook or in a classroom. Also never „dessen“ or „deren“. Only on discord and IRL.
I would get sick if I talk for that long all by myself! I can have long conversations though
Of course : D
I meant I am usually the quiet one, unless I go
Eureka! Did you know what I just discovered
Actually one time I was drunk by myself and talked to myself for like an hour...No shame
What’s that?
I was giving an example..but yea I thought some elections are going on in Germany coz everyone changed to Ministerium
I kind of want to try learning a language that’s in a totally different language family, like Chinese or Japanese. Japanese is apparently way more difficult however, or so I’ve heard. But also I would wanna learn Swedish because of ancestry and I have cousins in Sweden my age 😅
But I’ve never even seen an anime lmao there’s actually something else which intrigued me even more
Which are Japanese automobiles
its a language with 14 alphabets and just 120 words vocab
A person invented in 2000's coz she got fed up with all the vocab and complex words
Its quite popular among the Japanese
How can you talk about things like science in that language
From what I have read, that's not the point, its more like a laid back language
(someone asked if Bible could be translated into Toki Pona)
It could be but its not recommended
Although I can understand that, 120 seems like way too little to talk about much. It would seem like a few thousand would be more reasonable, instead of hundreds of thousands.
its more like really dependent on the context
e.g. if you see banana, and you would be describing it to me like "a yellow colored stick like thing"
I too went on a stupid endeavor of learning Japanese for the sake of anime
I’ve never seen any anime
It might not be relevant to your discussion, not sure, but just wanted to add: you do learn the common ones like möchte and so on.
It’s fine. Nah that’s true, but I rather meant the idea of the subjunctive in it’s entirety and what it means / how it functions.
Makes sense.
ah I misread, now I am curious what could it be : D
Because some beginners will make the mistake of saying that „möchten“ is it’s own separate verb, which of course is not the case.
True.
yes but mögen is
I already said what it was 😂
Japanese cars.
There are literally so many of them.
I‘m kind of curious what the car tuning scene is like in Japan.
Oh yea Toyota which came up with the Six Sigma process
Lean Six Sigma
you try to make your system more precise by reducing the error rate that you accept products which fall upto a variation of 6 sigma (the usual one is 3 sigma)
Accepting products for what reason?
if they had an error
like there are defective pieces when we do large scale production but if these pieces could still fall between the acceptable error range we don't have to discard them
I see...so you work at Toyota I guess?
No no
you said „we“ though...what did you mean by that exactly?
How do we say " I am learning German "
Ich lerne Deutsch
Great! thnaks !
Also, any amazing Movies I can watch?

where can i watch german shows for free without paying/country block?
Hey, although that thing isn't harmful in itself, don't do that here pls @hot cloak. And btw, the bot muted you for spam
So don't do that, either!
hi
I'd suggest the ARD-Mediathek. They have a bunch of shows and movies you can watch and it's completely free and legal. One of the best German shows is Babylon Berlin, you should go check it out: https://www.ardmediathek.de/ard/video/babylon-berlin/folge-1-s01-e01/das-erste/Y3JpZDovL2Rhc2Vyc3RlLmRlL2JhYnlsb24tYmVybGluLzYwMzk5MTBlLTBhZDAtNDg1Ni04OWRkLWQxODdjZmZiNmMxYw/
Ach so

Schoene Tag!
Hallo, jemand voicechat?
@upper basalt lass uns gehen
Gerne
Yeah.
@pine raptor If you spam, the bot will mute you.
Ja, genau, sie sind Narzissten.
Hiii
Deutschland trinkt zu wenig Tee!
Falsch. Kaffee ist offensichtlich besser.
Pfau!

does this mean... Southern Europeans are so chill because they drink no tea?
Is tea bad for your mood?
I didn't know that!
well... Turkey and Britain and other countries that aren't chill seem to drink it a lot
I can't see on the map, it onyl shows europe
They certainly consume more tea than Europeans.
probably not the most chill places either
..or perhaps they need to drink a lot of tea because they arent chill
sort of a hen and egg problem
Are you made in Heaven?
what?
Hallo, wie geht es euch
Ich geht es gut. Willst du ein Wurst kaufen?
???
ich kaufe kein Wurst*
Ah Danke!
Danke @midnight coral

You did both German and French?
well, I go to europe quite a bit so I thought german would be cool to learn
I have some family in switzerland and germany

But it's very hard. Especially for someone that has a language like English as native language.
french or german?
french is pretty easy for me
I meant German.
Learning French because we have to learn a second foreign language and I like it quite a bit.
More than Spanish
