Additionally, there are occasional silly public things he says, like on public transport or, recently, silliness with 'Pravda' (dumb idea of basically journalistic reddit but worse) which are causing backlash.
Why he was popular? I guess that is the thing with visionaries with big promises which can occasionally deliver on them and know how to fuel their image.
I, personally, was never a fan of him or other people who pretend that achievements of thousands of scientists and workers are an achievent of CEO or other Great Person, but I guess I can see why people were (still are, actually) fond of him.

Here are the key things that helped though: asking tons and tons of questions, helping people with stuff I had already learned, watching YouTube in German, having conversations with people here in German, doing writing tasks and getting them corrected in #writing , and joining/running practice/reading sessions in the server.
And with all that, it was really easy to get to B2.
I lack a lot of skills though. Anything I didn't practice much, I can't really do.

I've had to alter my handwriting a little to make sure that my professors can tell between a Rechtschreibfehler and a difference in norms. For instance, many German speakers seem to write the number 1 like the example on the top left here. I usually just write a single vertical line, but I've had to start adding the hook at the top and the line underneath. that also lead to needing to draw a line through the middle of my 7s because when I write them it looks like a 1 for a German. Same thing for capital/lowercase Z. Apparently my normal lowercase F is too square as well, so I started writing it as a swoop. L is still frustrating because using a curve at the bottom of a lowercase L seems clear to me, but one professor thought that it was capital, so I've had to try and remember to just write it as a straight line.

I think they might be doing it to maintain consistence though; my group consists of 17 native Arabic speakers, one native Chinese speaker, and one native Georgian. Then there's myself, a Spanish speaker, a Vietnamesisch speaker, and French speaker. That means that out of 23 people, only four of us have used the Roman alphabet (is it even called that?) for our entire lives. I used to think that my handwriting was terrible, but after seeing some of theirs, I realize just how much practice it takes to be able to use an alphabet fluently and write legibly at a reasonably small size. So they're probably doing it in case anyone ever noticed something like "why doesn't he ever get points knocked off for writing a letter incorrectly?" I appreciate it as well, because my handwriting has become noticeably neater over the past couple months

For Persona 5 (the little stuff I know):
Spoilers for the game for the people who are currently playing it, do that at your own risk :^)
So the beginning of P5 is pretty suprising, because you're already in jail, having people saying you are a criminal and all. People ask you to sign a confession of all the sins you have done, which they say, these are thinfs like manslaughter, possession of guns, and such. They just treat you like a criminal and just handcuffed you, you just can't do nothing but wait.
A prosecutor is then coming at your cell, and asking you to tell the whole story, which began a half of a year before.
You are a 16 year old boy, a second year. His names is Akira, and he sees a woman which needed help because someone was attacking her. Trying ti help, he didn't ignore her and tried to find a way to rescue her, but that other man decided to sue him because he got injured, although it's not Akira's fault.
Because of that, Akira had to change of high school and his parents didn't want him as well. He was accepted in a cafe where a man called Sojiro will take care of him, although he is as well very suspicious of the young boy. The school he'll be attending to, is also saying that at the first bad move, he'll be expelled.
In the evening, he sees a weird app which just got there on his phone, and deleted it.
The first day of school, he decides to be on time and be a good boi. He sees a teacher and a girl which wears the uniform of his hs, and that teacher was accompanying that girl which is a schooler. A boy, called Ryuji, swears at the teacher saying he's a bastard and all. He shows to Akira a shortcut to the school, so they wouldn't be late. But instead of being in the school, they end up in a castle...

Since they thought they were in the school, they came in and asked for directions. Except that the people here weren't schoolers or teachers... they were guards. Guards who took them into cells because these 2 came in that castle without the permission of the king. Confused, Akira and Ryuji end up in the cell and try to find a way to get outta here.
When they were investigating the cell, the guards and a new person, with a cape (sorta?? what's the thing kings wear which is usually red and looks like a cape?) and a cheeky look. Ryuji reconizes him, and said this was the PE teacher of the high school, named Kamoshida.
Ryuji still gets angry and swears a lot to him, but Kamoshida doesn't want to play around. Since the two schoolers came here without the permission of the king, of Kamoshida, he decided to execute him. Guards were there to hold Akira and make him stay still while some others were trying to execute first Ryuji.
But it was at this moment that Akira decided that Ryuji just couldn't die here, and neither himself. He suddenly hears a mysetrious voice, saying that even if his chances of winning are almost none, he could still have a possibility of hope if he hears that exact voice. He then unleashes a new power due to the rage and rebellion he had when Ryuji was almost getting killed by guards, and he had a Persona, which is Arsene.
A Persona is basically hidden power which exists in everyone's heart and can only be unleashed when a person has a strong will of rebellion. He fought all the guards with his Persona, escaped the cell with Ryuji and locked Kamoshida up in it.
