So far for me the best thing for learning has been to instead of trying to translate from English to German to just start associating the words in your head in German itself. When it’s cloudy I now always try to tell myself that it’s “bewölkt”. Now my brain doesn’t have to make that connection where “bewölkt -> cloudy (in English)” to me now it’s like “bewölkt -> (my brains concept of the sky being blocked by these blobs and the sun being dimmed etc.) Rather than it just being a different way to spell and say “cloudy”.
