1. Do main story quests (MSQ) to Shushire, you will be given a full set of item level (ilvl) 500 gear
2. Do daily content for materials and hone all gear to +3, then sail to Rohendel and do MSQ
3. Do daily content for materials and hone all gear to +7, then sail to Yorn and do MSQ
4. Do daily content for materials and hone all gear to +11, then sail to Feiton and do MSQ
5. Do daily content for materials and hone all gear to +15, then sail to Punika and do MSQ, and you are now in Tier 3
6. Do first level of Punika chaos dungeon (ilvl 1100) to get a full set of 1250 Tier 3 gear
7. Hone your Tier 3 gear up to at least +12 (ilvl 1445) and start doing Valtan and Vykas legion raids for relic armor craft relic pieces and transfer your purple chaos dungeon gear one by one
8. Hone your relic Tier 3 gear to +15 (ilvl 1490) and do Brelshaza legion raid to obtain materials to craft ancient gear, transfer your relic pieces to ancient gear one by one
9. Complete Brelshaza Ancient set (ilvl 1520) and sail to Voldis and do MSQ
10. Complete Praeteria Island story in preparation for future MSQ
11. Hone ancient gear to +15 (ilvl 1540) and do Voldis MSQ. Complete Kayangel raid and use raid mats to upgrade armor to level 3.
12. Hone ancient gear to +19 (ilvl 1580) and do Akkan legion raid to obtain materials to craft upper ancient gear, transfer your Brel pieces to upper ancient gear one by one. Sail to South Kurzan and complete MSQ
13. Hone Upper Ancient gear to +15 (ilvl 1600) and do North Kurzan MSQ. Complete Abyss Dungeon Ivory Tower to unlock and do Elixir gear progression.
14. Hone Upper Ancient gear to +17 (ilvl 1610) and complete Legion Raid Thaemine to unlock and do Transcendence gear progression.
15. Hone your Upper Ancient gear to +19 (ilvl 1620) and complete Kenuart Fortress for Tier 4 Relic gear (ilvl 1640), transfer your Tier 3 gear to the new Tier 4 gear.
16. At ilvl 1640 complete South Remeria MSQ
17. At 1660 complete Act 1 Aegir raid to obtain materials to craft & gear transfer to Tier 4 Ancient gear. Weapon comes LAST!
18. At 1670 complete Act 2 Brelshaza raid to obtain mats to work on Karma progression system. Karma will improve the 3 individually Ark Passive skill trees.
19. At 1680 complete Act 3 Mordum raid to optain mats to unlock Advanced Honing 21-30. Advanced Honing 31-40 is unlocked using raid materials from Act 3 Mordum hard mode at ilvl 1700.

Other tidbits:

• Each continents MSQ can be started from a purple guide quest named "[Guide] Guides: Respective Continent" accessible from the "Guide" tab in your quest menu
• When crafting new gear sets from higher ilvl content you can gear transfer your old gear to the new set at the honing NPC.
• You cannot skip Valtan/Vykas relic - only relic transfers to Brelshaza ancient. But you no longer need to get T3 legendary gear from Argos/Oreha.
• Clown/Kakul-Saydon (ilvl 1475) and Kayangel (ilvl 1540/1580) reward materials to Upgrade Gear. Gear Upgrades now provide addition Evolution Points in the Evolution ark passive tree
• Honing past +15 Relic and +19 Brelshaza is possible but not advised due to cost - the only people who do this are those who are rushing an alt with significant saved materials
• Kenuart Fortress rewards up to 5 gear selection chests on the first run of the day. With additional chests rewarded for additional runs of the dungeon

It's a whole mess, you "stay" for an hour doing "advance honing" IF you have all the materials saved for that, which are a LOT, thousands of orehas, leaps, millions of shards, 400 to 1m gold depends on your goal, if you don't have all that then you either do any adv hone you can or just straight up jump to t4 asap
