Hone chance at +20 and above goes way down and costs go up. Should be able to get 2 pieces on first week to hone (84 on a full clear with solo vendor and first time box, so thats 2 armor or wait a week and buy the weapon first)

Weapon first means nothing first week, but weapon + 1 armor second week (64x2 + 20 = 148).
