Personally I think the whole things needs it. A new player should be able to be interested in the story and not be jailed by 50 hours of questing.
-Remove all sidequests
-Streamline msq quests to remove bloat
-adjust all quest rewards to useful/relevant rewards
-Upon arriving at each continent they should have 2 options pp up. A summary of the continent and the thingsyoull do. One option is new streamlined story as intended with esitmated comletion time. A second option to play a very very streamlined version in ~30 mins. Have the pop-up screen include in-game systems/mechs that the palyer will miss so they can look into them. The second option is akin to the story highlights when you first powerpass
-additionally nuke most Tier1-2 content
-hide old meaningless dungeons in a deep menu so they exist but are no in your face, overwhelming new players and making them think they need it>
-Pick 1 guardian from each set to keep and nuke the others so there are less options spreading new playeyrs out.
-FORCE a tutorial guardian run that introduces mechs like stagger, and weakpoin. Not just a tooltip. FORCE players to interact with them

-100 other points ive cooked in my mind

All these progression events are great. But as time goes on they are they ONLY way for a new player to get into the game in a timely manner

MSQ is besides the point as it's always been mostly solo content, the issue is that to organically understand the story, you have to play through 50 hours of mostly solo content to even grasp what's happening at endgame lore-wise. Tortoyk was supposed to teach you about how all the stone giants were basically walking arks of life and filled with creatures, races and peoples that rely on them to thrive. So that when you eventually learn that Sacria went and slaughtered a whole bunch it had more of an emotional impact.
Problem is the reveal about sacria is delivered after you spend ages farming 15 Giant's Hearts.

it comes along with another progression event caled descend into darkness where you can push a character from 1580-1600 (from 1600 onwards they no more give honing buffs but they still give rewards when you achieved 1605 and 1610)

You can find a party and join them until the next month.

Cos most of the ppl are old, so they know all things and play characters for years and can execute all the stuff. Which means they expect you to be same or else you gonna fail and screw them up.
Concept called gatekeeping and its basically impossible to join for you anything.
What you can do is watch a guide for a raid, create or join a learning group and clear it like that 3 times. Then you can try to join a raid and perform good enough.
If you join without practice you gonna get kicked out in first two pulls cos its clear you clueless and just watching guide is not enough.
Wait 3 weeks or go through all this garbage is your decision to make.

No, not sailing. Use the Ocean Liner. Which is an NPC you can speak to at the port, or you can simply access it from your map while you are on any continent with a button at the bottom of your map that says Ocean Liner. It will then fast travel you to the port of the continent you chose.

No, that is not what I said. They cannot be entered solo anyway. I said that you should use the LFG Discords to find learning parties so you can learn the Raid but that Party Finder will be what those groups on those Discords will direct you to.

Also I would recommend watching some video guides on the raids to get at least a basis of understanding of their mechanics.

The only time you should be using the actual matchmaking button is for Guardian Raids.
