The servers have recently merged. This has moved around some items, but they are not lost.
Step 1. Reclaim your characters from the Universal Storage on the character select screen.
Step 2. Login and claim your cards on the Universal Storage tab on the card menu using ALT+C.
Step 3. Reclaim your roster storage by using ESC and opening Universal Storage.
Step 4. Re-equip your cards as they were reset and must be re-equipped.
You are all good to go!

I don't think the amount you get is influenced by which enemies you kill, you just fill the meter to 100% and that's what you get
if anything, killing a boss just fills the meter faster
