btw you can easily try out a character by creating a new steam account for lost ark and using a power pass there, takes less than 5 min and you can experience how the character will play lategame, they even give you a decent build if you use the super mokoko express and select one of the styles

Well since it was new to me and i assume it's new to him too, he does not have the necessary experience with the system to be able to craft good elixirs.

And even if he does, the RNG will fuck you over and over.

I still wouldn't waste a single gold on it after the free ones if i could start it over.

lvl 4 boss damage and lvl 4 crit damage is very easy and well worth it

I assume it's their 1st time gettin into the elixir terrory so they are new or returning players with not much gold to spare and wasting the little available resource on a system designed to fuck you up is not a good thing to do.

that's not the question though, question is what activities earn me gold, because I get it: chaos dungeons don't, but there was something about gold in raids description, however I ran couple of them and got nothing

Gold Sources
You can select up to 6 characters on roster to earn gold from Legion Raids, Abyssal Dungeons, and Abyss Raids.
Sources for earning gold:

• Weekly: 3 Legion Raids (including Kayangel Abyss Dungeon) per character
• Weekly: Una Tokens exchange for gold chests
• Earn more tokens the higher ilvl your highest character on roster is
• Gain tokens by completing Daily Una Tasks and Weekly Una Tasks
• Weekly token limit is shared by characters
• You cannot redo daily una on alts but u can complete different ones to gain tokens
• Recommended to exchange for 500 token gold chest for chance at 10k gold
• Adventure Island Gold reward (occurs multiple times per month, gold amount scales with ilvl)
• Fate Ember random drop from Chaos Dungeons/Guardian Raids has a chance of giving gold
• Life Skilling
• Sell tradeable items on Marketplace/Auction House
• Guild Event/GvG distribution
• Content Bids
• Completing Express events

ilvl progression is gated behind doing raids to craft the new gear but to hone them you could gather the materials solo by doing chaos dungeons, guardian raids and life skilling. Other systems that increase your power are gated behind group play as well(set level, elixir and transcendence)
