It's not only about price of class engraving. A dps has a higher bar for pugging than a support. You can be on ilvl with the bare minimum and have a dramatically easier time getting into raids as a support than a dps that is at the bare minimum

Ultimately you should just play w/e class or classes you enjoy rather then just play to circumvent gatekeeping when you may not even enjoy playing support

From my understanding(someone correct me if im wrong) but at ilevel w/o shards means the value of the chest if you dont count shards, and the 1580 one is the value if you are converting the lower tier mats to the higher tier mats, which is a 5:1 ratio (e.g. marvelous leaps to radiant leaps)

and for characters that have more honor shards than they know what to do with, getting some from the chest is meaningless

depends on the stat and character tbh, but baseline I try to go for ~70 at least, but thats just personally, it'll mostly depend on things like budget at the end of the day. There's also some things like depending on the stat, they could have higher thresholds you need to hit with your accs, like spec tends to need higher qualities for some characters so they can get more expensive. I would check what exactly your character needs stat wise and go off that. Also rings give the lowest stats so if you do need to budget quality somewhere ppl usually skimp on the ring quality and focus more on earrings and necklace

Use a website like loa-todo to plan out your engraving and mess around with combinations

When you fail a hone you build Artisan energy. If you fail enough hones eventually your Artisan will build up to 100 and youll have a 100% to succeed your hone. This is called the pity system

Using free taps with those stones hone using the base success rate and does not build artisan energy. Succeeding a free tap is just as likely at 0% artisan and 99% artisan. SOOOO in order not to waste mats going for free taps on items youve already build artisan on, people like to use them on fresh hones

Hope you all having a good day! I came to this discord to get to know more about the game in general and to ask if someone can lend me a hand regarding a specific situation. I've tried guides and all and couldn't find this kind of "guidance".
I'm a returning player, I got to lvl 50 around 2 years ago and now that I'm back in the game I created another character to relearn the basics, however, I still want my wardance to be my main and I want to go back to gearing her... the problem is it seems my old gear is quite outdated and I'm totally lost on how some of the late game mechanics work. My plea is for someone, expirienced and willing to give me a tour about the new mechanics for late game and point me towards the correct approach for regearing and updating my character to the newest mechanics and gear.

you’re still in the very early stage of the game (before endgame and doing story only) end game content starts after you finish punika and hone to at least item level 1370 (Argos) which is an abyss raid that’s also considered old or dead content but it is where raiding starts technically. “real” content starts with Valtan (legion raid) hard mode at 1445 item level
