To answer your question, people don't do normal valtan.. or at least those who will clear lol.

Your best bet is to join lfg discords for learning parties for raids. New boost events will be here next month. So getting familiar with the game and maybe even finding friends/guild to raid with will be incredibly nice.

Ah, guilds are server locked but raids and other instanced content is cross server. Either way, I'd try and find a group of people (community) to help you out. I'd suggest trying to push to 1490 to do the voldis story. There's a main city there, and you can ask around for guilds there.

Yes, though... guardian raids aren't that needed before 1490. Guardian raids are the only source of sellable leapstones in the game, and this is why most people do them. Anything before 1490 is going to drop basically worthless materials.

There are soft resets in gearing that help, but it does get expensive

When you do Relic to Brel ancient to Akkan ancient, honing odds go back up to the ~10% range before dropping again

But the material cost gets pretty expensive

the thing with burst classes are that if you miss 1 skill or something doesnt crit thats a HUGE dmg loss that you cant really make up for

meanwhile with something like a hunger reaper you miss a skill who cares u get it back in 5 secs

no since even if you land everything the right abilities need to crit otherwise dmg is lower, and if you are swift heavy you just keep hitting consistantly and you will get a more evened out result same with full crit since you are critting all the time not relying on luckier hits on certain abilities and windoes

Brasnd new content, consistent dmg is easier. On farm content, burst excells very well, when you overgear the content so far you steamroll it without though, then burst falls off again because there is less chances to burst

yea i die inside a little everytime i miss a skill and im like "well thats 200 mil+ dmg gone"

cant make it up later so if you miss some skills and get no crits you just know you not getting on mvp screen

but the class is a lot of fun and i love her a lot

true, all of the dmg classes are able to and deal enough dmg to clear current content, you just "need to" decide if you like melee, ranged burst or consistent, positional or nonposotional (sounds weird at first but its fairly simple, you just chase ass or head)

all 3 are equal in terms of that, but artist or paladin imo is better as your firt, bard has some skills that are pools/circles on the ground for buffs and stuff and you might not know where to place them at first for optimal supporting

thats just applies to "support" not specifically one of the 3 different ones, but yeah many dps mains got some lower lvl support alts so at lower lvls its not as easy as higher where there are less people pushing support classes

then just cube, chaos, guardians, xp pots from wandering merchant, legion raids, argos/lesser abyssal which is i think 1415 for abyssals and 1475 for argos if you dont go past the honing level for them and the other abyssals like kaya and voldis
