I have a question about setting up a new alt. Used my free South Vern powerpass, picked a class, found some build resources. How do I go about acquiring engravings and gems? I should probably mention that I'm a relatively new player and already using the catch up event on my main, so I don't have engraving support availible. Run chaos dungeon/raids and pray for drops?

later, when your main has good gems, you can transfer some to alt and reroll them there

yep u just in the very very beginning, if you want to play through the story just keep on with the MSQ, it'll tell you what you need to do before advancing to the next continent

Unless they changed it, you keep doing main story, and after beating Shushire you get a box with a set of armors at 500 item level, that will be your set from here on till you upgrade it to +15 and finish Punika main story

Or you can get them earlier if you do the chaos dungeon you have available right now

Will make Shushire easier as well

You just need to start upgrading your stuff to access it
