After 50 your gear will really only come from a singular source, everything else you loot will be materials for honing or Amulets which give you upgraded levels for your tripods aka skill effects on your skills

Once you get to 50, and North Vern, you'll be able to do your Chaos Dungeons and get ilvl 500 gear, or you can just continue on and complete Shushire story and get a box for a full set of ilvl 500 gear
