Essentially its just building your char to not look bad getting higher roster so ppl don't think your new, getting legion raid titles so ppl know that youve done the raid your applying for, eventually making your build once express runs out also like I said cards too and if anything the major reason ppl quit is cuz of either honing or gatekeeping both of which wont change

Gunlancer has a big shield, tanks most of the boss' paterns and doesn't care (with some exceptions)
Slayer is easy to play and does good damage
Fist fighter there's scrapper and striker, their rotation aren't the most new player friendly and not critting on some of your attacks can put you off
Those are some of the classes I did play that I could call "badass"

A gear box should be in your inventory from completing the final shushire quest if it remained the same but… I’d suggest just using a power pass (level boost) to skip past that stuff.
You’re gonna have to manually acquire honing materials and enhance (hone) your gear to progress in the story.

Oh wait, you’re using the story express. That changes what my advice is.
Just keep on going with the main quest line after equipping each new set of gear you get from completing each story.
Ignore all other side quests and such, they’re not needed.
