I have a few questions. I just downloaded the game and I'm hearing that you can only get so many upgrade materials per week. I heard a few Youtubers say that you can replay content with you main character getting this lesser resource that you trade in for upgrade material

the Question I' asking is if I choose to repeat the same content beating my head against the wall for the trade in resource can I essentially continue to upgrade my gear. Or is it like Blessed Unleashed where you're gated period unless you spend money?

If you are talking about running more than two chaos dungeon a day and trade in these mats, I advise you not to run more than two per day. The exchange gets more expensive with every trade, you would be wasting your time tbh.
Creating another char is more effective, if you want to play more.
You run a guardian and two chaos dungeon a day and your weekly raids for gold. If you want to push, you can use your gold to get more mats, but i`d say there is no reason to do so for new players, cause you will be gatekeeped in endgame raids with a new account anyways.
Take your time, try out different classes (you can earn gold with up to 6 chars) and don't overdo it.

BDO wasn't as rewarding as I would've liked, but the only reason I stopped playing was the absolute lack of PVE content. I get burned out PVPing all the time. I've even left my PC on overnight and nothing would happen. I've re-installed the game multiple times, I ran steam as an administrator and it all ends with the same result. Hey All, so I just finished Punika on story express and got the gear chest. But it's led to my crit going down to 0 - I'm playing a Sorc reflux...Is there a way to get gear at this stage that will boost my crit?

If you look in the gear progression guide (and reading your gear), you'll see that you hit Tier 3, which makes your previous gear almost useless

If you’re doing the story express, don’t do any chaos dungeons until you’re done with south Vern.

There is. You can turn on smart cast in settings somewhere

Because igniter relies quite heavily on animation cancelling

Your backswing on a lot of casts is very long and they can mostly all be cancelled by casting a new spell

But it doesn’t work with quick cast

I think when you understand it for the animation cancelling and use it as part of the burst rotation it doesn’t become so bad

You essentially hold the aoe marker while your previous spell is still casting and then as soon as it is released you press to confirm the aoe for the new cast

And that cancels the backswing animation
