So cards are both in sets you can use like LOS or Deep Dive and belong in books, those books can help you give stats like spec and swift and as you awaken them you can get things like more demon damage % which is very useful for raids

I don't know of a way to see which ones you already have. You could go to your stronghold to see which research you haven't done to see what you don't have and then work backwards.
