tl;dr of engravings: each engraving has a tier from 1/2/3 activated at 5/10/15 points into that engraving. the game just adds up your engraving total from ability stone + engraving slot x2 + accessories

so we advise taking 2x your class engraving until 1370 because at purple tier, that's 9 points x2 = 18, so you unlock your class engraving at level 3 (with 3 overcapped)

if it won't let you look at it, you havent been there

I followed the islands and did the mokoko quest and honed from 302 to 600 in one sitting with tons of mats left over. Using all the island mats and mokoko mats, I honed from 802 to 1100 in one sitting as well.

if you mean accesories, you're trying to aim for 4x3 probably, if you can afford 5x3 go ahead, but you dont even need it tbh
