hey mods, i just got warned by dyno for posting a link on #857145361175937024 (NA West) to a site that helps tracks merchant locations. i just re-read the rules and there wasn't any rule against posting links related to lost ark, i didnt self-promote since the site wasnt mine, nor did i spam the link -- only posted it once. however this message might be taken as questioning moderating actions so im prepared to be muted if need be but i need to put out a point.

I would still like to suggest that efforts, like creating independent website trackers, by other players like this shouldnt be frowned upon. its a resource that the whole community can benefit from. In my case, our server bergstrom gets less traveling merchant report compared to other NAWest servers and maybe this type of streamlining can encourage people to contribute for the content. for now, while the channel hasn't found a built-in, easier process of wandering merchant reporting, this just seems to be the next best thing. maybe consider looking into the site and contacting the owner. nonetheless, i wont be posting any links anymore.

We know of the site but you have to follow the format of the pinned comment. Links to sites are not in that format and we have had many complaints about links to sites in that channel. If you do not see other people talking or posting website links or anything else that means to not do it. You can send the website to your friends but links in the merchant channels are not allowed. I already asked the head admin.

Any self promotion or promotion of other discord or websites is not permitted unless they are approved. That site is not.

The picture it’s self is not self promotion but sending the link with the post and telling people to go there is considered self promotion. Not sure what you specifically did but that’s what’s been happening

The reason we decline duplicate applications is because generally if we get dupes it's one of three things** 1) Someone doesn't understand the approval system and thinks the bot does it, whereas it's actually manual. 2**) Someone hasn't had an answer, gets impatient and sends more apps in, which slows us down more because we're commonly handling 3-24hr backlogs of apps. There's only a few of us that actually handle these apps for the whole server.** 3) **Which leads on from 2, understandably, we don't have time to figure out differences when it comes to multiple apps under the same User ID, so the most efficient thing for us is to decline both applications, and usually what happens when we do that is that person will then see what's going on, submit one application and we'll approve it immediately.

1. and msot importantly it shows all engravings with negativ attributes at lvl 1-3 and is not clarifying that these should almost never be taken at lvl 1 or 2
   these kind of posts are the reason we see so many players with lvl 1 or 2 grudge
2. it claims all engravings not on the lsit are trash. which may be true for the endgame but some wiull be very important for newer palyers with less expereince(1 lvl in emergency rescue/crisis evasion can be a gamechanger
3. all these critics already exist in the reddit post where this graph was featured if someone read the comments

go to discord website, log out and back in with your discord credentials (the ones you're using on the account that is in this server), then try to relog into dyno.gg. If it can't make the connection to your discord account it won't know you're in the server.

It's an infograph, it does exactly what it's supposed to do. If you read on a graph that you will take 20% less damage yet only gain 4% vs the other lvl 1 options on that list, then that's not the graphs fault. The issue is when people like you that take things like this literally when ultimately they serve to let you make your own decision, but emergency resc/ambulance and crisis are a waste of an engrave slot and it's only players desperate for a crutch that'd think any different; if people want to, that's their prerogative, just like how people have worked out in Argos they don't need to take grudge if they don't want to and can pick from any of the other DPS engravings.

I'll let someone else weigh in on itl but TLDR it's an infograph, it's not there to tell you what to do and how to build your character, that's what class guides are for as well as genuine research.

it only matters what the average "newbie" person looking at the graph will think
in this case the average person will think that this infograph will exactly tell you what to do. and interpret it as a guide.
it is reasonable to assume that someone looking at it will assume that bards should only run lvl 3 awakening and dps can run any combination of lvl 1-3 engravings.

this graph should have a big red textbox saying clearly to not run lvl 1 grudge (and similiar engravings) because that is whats most people will do wrong

also it should clarify by itself that its jsut informativ and not a guide but it doesnt,

about emergency resc/ambulance was recommended from a youtube guide. so that may be wrong

and finally "people like me" are many people (see the comments in the linked reddit thread)
and a inforgraph/guide needs to be usefull/clear to ALL people

When the game was in it's earlier days, people were heavily against grudge for the same reason they are now, because of the 20% increased damage taken and overall reduction to party stability if you take an engraving when you dont know what you're doing. All the other DPS engravings are also provided with their lvl 1 values, if for whatever reason you come to the conclusion that 4%+ flat (boss+ only btw so doesn't even work in some content) / -20% DR is worth it over the lvl 1 options, the graph never told you to do that, the individual made that decision (and it was the wrong one as you're aware). Plus also didn't help Level 1 grudge was heavily gated and things like adrenaline and hit master didn't exist.

The graphs are not for the average newbie, they are the meta based on research that has gone on more than I'd wager 75% of the people in that thread (being generous) have actually played the game. What you are essentially asking for in terms of "red text" is for further handholding, when it's not designed for that. What other people choose to interpret it as again, that is on them. You cannot blame the writers when people are unable to think for themselves or make their own decisions based on the information presented. At least when it comes to explaining sacrificing a red engrave to take a damage one the explanation is understandable, because often people can't calculate if it still works out as a worthwhile swap. For example, keen blunt is a meta crit engrave, but how useful it actually is to you is largely dependent on your CR, and there's actually a graph somewhere that'll tell you if it's value over another lvl 3 engrave to take even if you have some crit chance, but that's homework people have to do themselves because every class is different. But it's one of many examples I could give why this is a resource, but it's not designed for what people seem to think it's for.

I understand where you're coming from and the fact that people will see something and not take the time to understand other options, even ones that may not be recommended; because you're right, just because something isn't optimal, doesn't mean it's completely useless; but it doesn't mean they should be taught bad crutch habits early because it'll harm them later on when there are fights where pushing damage is important or impairment checks are impairment and stricter than what people are used to now (assuming Amazon doesn't nerf those fights too). But if we re-did pins on your logic, we'd have a hell of content on this discord that'd need revisiting because there are guides that cover the basics, but also many that assume you know how to make your own decisions based on information provided to you as well as other available information (because anyone who uses one infographic to make their choices in my opinion, is making a bad decision).

Anyway this was probably not the place to discuss this (but you deserved more of an answer than just "nah" without really explaining my conclusion) but yeah, it's gonna be a no from me dawg. But if you choose to reply to this I will read it even if I don't reply.

This is my own guess btw so don't take it as gospel, but 1) I have no idea where that'd stand on the fence in terms of ToS (even though it's gold for a game related service, apparently for whatever reason gold for game services doesn't match the tos for other Lost Ark versions - again this is recycled knowledge that I have not investigated - if it's real money then yeah I have a feeling Amazon wouldn't play ball with the legality of it) 2) If we allowed it we'd also have to police it. We have two people total that actually actively moderate presets and until yesterday it was one, so I'd imagine it would also be their shout whether they've got the time to keep on eye on it. It's not the first time I've seen a service like this provided, seen it provided for stuff like game housing before too; and I think seeing a lot of those creative minds in action is great; but yeah if that's the current stance then it is what it is for a now, but who knows what the gallery mods might decide to do for the place in the future.

Obviously though if it's a ToS side issue then it's perfectly dead in the water fucked as far as it goes as an idea unfortunately. But I can't confirm this.

The logs I've dealt with. You're fine mostly, but it's not your place to stop people responding to others, come and tell us and we'll deal with it. Even if you have to drop a community moderator tag to do it, thats a perfectly legitimate use of tagging staff and thats why it exists.

Because above all else, class channels we generally expect to stay on topic unless it's quiet, when it's peak pretty much like now
