So, this guy and I both had the same idea: to create a type of game called a CC lore game. He approached me because we shared the same vision for this game, and we both agreed to split everything 50/50.

I worked on development and promoted our server, helping it grow from nothing to 500 members. While that might not be a huge number, it still took time and effort. I even hired people to help with the development.

Later on, my PC broke, and I wasn’t able to get it fixed for at least three months due to some complications. When I finally got my PC repaired and returned, I noticed that I had lost my role as an owner in the Discord server.

Because of that, I decided to save copies of the assets that had been created — particularly those from the developers I had hired. My old account had been wiped, so I wanted to back everything up just in case.

Later on, he saw me in Roblox Studio and got an alert, since no one had accessed the Studio during the three months I was gone. Now he's accusing me of stealing assets from a game that I had put time and dedication into.

He also claimed he spent money on the game, but as far as I know, the only money spent was from community donations — not from his own pocket.

More recently, someone else came forward and said that they had been scammed by him. At the time, I ignored it because I didn’t know the guy very well and assumed he was being honest. But now, based on everything that’s happened, I’m starting to believe that the scam accusation might’ve been true.

So now I’m asking you honestly:
Do you think it was wrong of me to copy the assets from the game?

I mean it's not foolproof, but generally those with skill roles have a higher level of understanding than those who don't. Some scams are intentional, and some happen due to a lack of experience.

People with skill roles typically have been on the platform a bit longer & know industry standards. Additionally they've usually worked for others in the past, and haven't had any disputes arise from their transactions

Plenty of people with skills roles banned by SIs, plenty of people without skill roles banned by SIs

Do your due dilligence and don't trust anyone

the programmer is the one who links everything, Character/Animation / Sound into one functional game.

without a programmer, everything will just sit there statically with no interaction ( no UI hover effects, you can't spawn, walk, play any animations, and there's no background music )

like I said before you should research the job you're hiring for, or get someone that you can trust and has experience to hire for you
