I use ibispaint and for shading and lighting i add light source and figure out where the light fall on the object and make it lighter color and remember that if the light source was too close to the object the light will have more radius and should be brighter the farther you go the less light you get and you can use 2 source of light for better result and shading is just you have to figure where is the parts that light doesn't fall on it and you can use basic shapes to learn maybe try shading 3d sphere or cube

spend a week to a month practicing and ull go from 35 to a few hundred, to a thousand, few thousand, etc.

dependin on how fast u progress in a months time u can get pretty good

best strat is to find a rly good reference of a scene you like

one that u think would be impossible for u right now

and learn how to do each part of it

one step at a time

ill use my own as an example cuz i got it on me

so start with materials, learning how to texture things better, thisll teach u pbr texturing and fabric overlays

also is the basis of creating nice ground

specifically PBR textures / materials

lighting is important so learn more about lighting, 3 point, hdris, etc.

learn about skies and blending hdris with sky textures or other methods

then scene building learn how to utilize sketchfab and quixel bridge for free assets to add to ur scene
