I use Corsair for everything besides my gpu and mobo. Which are both gigabyte and use their own software. I believe there are programs like openrgb that is open source to create and connect different rgb services together. I didn’t want to mess with all that stuff when building my pc, so I just went with Corsair.

Ok so I know this is random but this is my pc I have had it for about a year now but only two of my USB ports work on my case and I have four it’s kind of annoying because I have to keep unplugging and plugging stuff especially with modding my switch and I also want to change the color but that case won’t change color it’s locked at red would it be worth buying a new case and putting all the components inside or should I just deal with having my USB ports not working and I can’t change color

Yes, but the hardware must support it and it's still in it's development so it's not guaranteed that the hardwares lightning will work correctly, I've seen people complain that it will randomly switch to your "windows accent color".

What do you need to overclock your cpu for? Unless you are experiencing slow response and have ruled out it’s not older equipment then you could overclock it for Aslong as you have a decent cpu cooler and it doesn’t void any warranty.

i7 8700 is pretty old so anythings better 😉 i made my switch from am4 to am5 not long ago, 32gb should be enough if you are on a budget.

You can always post here and get alot of different opinions, I can't say if they'll bottleneck as i just dont really know lol but i would aim towards ryzen 7 or better if you are aiming towards the newer AM5 sockets, I'm using the cpu listed and a 2060 super with no problems.

Yes you must use three separate cables do not daisy chain them

And make sure the adapter is plugged in gpu fully or it can melt

Does PSU not come with new style cable so you don’t need adapter because my thermal take come with a cable that goes straight to my 4080super so no need for adapter at all

Why get a 7900x3D ? Get a 7800x3d and get a 4070 ti super

7800x3d is better at gaming then 7900x3d

No 7000 series cpu is bad tbh you could pair any with any top gpu I run 4080 super with 7600 and it’s completely fine

Hello everyone. I am new on here with a question. I plan to buy a Powercolor Red Devil Radeon RX 7900GRE in the very near future and I'm uncertain as to whether I should upgrade my DRAM or not. Honestly? It'd be best to get rid of Dragon Centre. There are better third-party applications out there that can control fan speeds, RGB lighting, PC optimisation, etc.

Dragon Centre is essentially just bloatware from MSI

its a good starting point aswell if you are only just starting

i started with a thrustmaster and never had any issues or problems whatsoever

logitech is worth it if youre going long term into sim racing

but then you should also start looking at fanatec or companies alike

as theyre effectively dedicated to sim racing setups

It just depends on what and how you want to go. My old PC was a AMD Fx8350 with Radeon 390 installed. When I decided I wanted to get back into gaming but didn't want to spend a lot, I went with AMD again but went with the Ryzen 5600x paired with a Radeon 6650 xt. Got both together for around 215 dollars as a bundle from a local PC shop that was closing down last year. For the price, it was worth it.

Been playing avowed on high settings and 60fps because I don’t feel I need more frames than that and it said it was at 50-60% on the GPU that’s on a 1920x1080 resolution

Play things like COD as well but sometimes input feels delayed and that plays on medium at 200FPS which past 140FPS my screen won’t tell the difference anyway

Sometimes it feels great other times I’m not sure

I loaded up Sniper Elite: Resistance and apparently that maxed my GPU on medium

Again I can play GTA V on 100FPS on medium and 60FPS on high but I’m unsure on game requirements and if that’s any good

In the end, it really depends on what you want to do with the PC. If it's just a few games on HD, then logically you don't need 32gb DDR5 RAM + 10TB SSD + GTX 5090 TI. Sure you can still buy it, you'll definitely save yourself an upgrade for the next few years, but it's not worth it in my opinion. Better save a few hundred euros and buy a proper monitor + keyboard + headset etc.

For my part, I do rendering from time to time, play games on 2k and program. That's why I have 32gb RAM, 3080 TI, 10TB hard disk space [2TB of which are NVM SSDs]. Would that be enough for your purpose? Maybe just about.

The thing with gaming and ram is that most games don't really use anywhere close to 16gb of RAM. What more ram can help with is making your whole system run smoother while you game. Background applications, streaming/recording programs, browsers, etc…

If you undervolt along with the OC you get higher speed and lower current = less heat. I just built a 9950x3d PC and it clocks at max 5969. I undervolted each core individually until it was unstable and then backed off. It took all day to do it but I'm hitting almost 6Gigs and my CPU under Cinebench never goes over 70C. Not all chips are created equal but you should be able to easily run about 1.5 Gigs above the advertised base clock and with tedious and thorough undervolting the temps should be well under any danger zones where the chips burn out sooner than they should. Heat is the enemy and heat comes from wattage. Out of the box with no tuning this thing was running about 82C running the Cinebench.

If you have a micro center nearby go there. They have a ton of them. There are too many variables to suggest one without knowing usage and such. Gaming what res do you want to run... what refresh rate and all sorts of things. Personally I run 4K gaming constantly and 120Hz is more than fast enough for smooth video so I got an 86" television that works fine for me. One weird thing I noticed with it though... It works best at 118Hz... Weird.

I just turned on my pc, and the icons are now rearranged to default place.

I rearranged them to my preferred layout, then opened a game, when i finished playing closed the game and the icons are now in different places. Its like the monitor switched from 2k to 1080p. ( the game was on 2k )

Restarted the pc. And the icons went back to default layout.

Hey! Sounds like your desktop icon layout is getting messed up when your resolution changes — that’s a pretty common issue when switching between different display modes (like 2K to 1080p).

A couple of things you can try:

Disable auto-arrange icons: Right-click on the desktop, go to View, and make sure "Auto arrange icons" is unchecked.

Check game resolution settings: If the game is switching to a lower resolution than your desktop, try forcing it to run at your native res (2K) from its settings or config file if available.

I have a question. I was watching a review of the AMD RX 9070 OC graphics card and I noticed something specific. Why don’t games use all of the VRAM? They only use 12 out of the 16 VRAM. Why don’t they use all of it?

pairing the RTX 5090 with a Ryzen 5 5500 will technically work, but it’s not ideal. You’ll run into CPU bottlenecks, especially at lower resolutions like 1080p or 1440p. The 5090 is a beast built for 4K and beyond, and the 5500 just can’t keep up with its data demands.

Bottleneck Breakdown
At 1080p:
CPU bottleneck: ~35–40%
GPU underutilized: you won’t get full value from the 5090
At 4K:
Bottleneck drops to ~10–15%
Still not optimal, but more balanced

You will need to verify power is coming out of the psu first, if there is no power coming through the psu it’s likely dead.

You can use the Blue Yeti mic with your Xbox, but it's a bit of a workaround since Xbox doesn’t natively support USB mics for chat.

Here’s what you need

• The Blue Yeti plugged into the Xbox via USB to power it up
• A 3.5mm aux splitter cable to split mic and headphone signals
• A Turtle Beach (or similar) headset adapter plugged into your controller’s 3.5mm jack
• A male-to-male 3.5mm aux cable from the Yeti to the splitter and adapter
• Headphones to listen in

Basically you power the Yeti with the usb then connect its audio out through the splitter and adapter into your controller. This is so the Xbox can pick up your mic for chat. It’s a bit of extra gear, but it works on both Xbox Series X and Xbox One.

I would suggest getting a boom arm for the desk. It is a game changer.
