Hi
guys is this place a virus
no

am I doing this right 😔
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Lian Li O11D EVO RGB ATX Mid Tower
whats a CPU comfort zone range for running KCD2/Stalker2/DDogma2? (idc about the graphics gon tone that one down later)
I have the same board and cpu, both work good! Just make sure that your bios is up to date, I had to update mine because of some hiccups but super easy to do.
Hey! I was wondering if this was a good pre built https://www.newegg.com/avgpc-gaming-desktop-pcs-geforce-rtx-4060-ti-intel-core-i9-11900kf-32gb-ddr4-1tb-pcie-ssd-blizzard-i9-4060-ti-white/p/3D5-002N-000E1?Item=3D5-002N-000E1&_gl=1*1lmgrop*_gcl_au*NzIwOTUzNjY2LjE3NTY3NTkyMjk.*_ga*MTM4MTAwNzkyOS4xNzU2NzU5MjM0*_ga_TR46GG8HLR*czE3NTY3NjU1OTYkbzIkZzEkdDE3NTY3NjU2MjQkajMyJGwwJGgxNjY5OTIzNTgy
Not a big fan on intel anymore, I've had i3's i5's and an i7, all dead. Ryzen fanboy now sorry!
Find a build on DDR5, For the same price you can get a newer gen. I would also aim towards a GPU with 16 GB opposed to 8.
Haha no need to be sorry. What is DDR5? -_-
It's a newer generation of ram.
Oh! Got it! Okay.. going back to new egg now haha
I've built several gaming pc for myself and friends/friends of friends etc with 13th and 14th gen i7 and i9 (the problematic ones) -- so far they have been solid!
I'm really disappointed in the ultra series desktop cpu - they aren't any better than the 14th gen - so that's sad - but i'm still not a fan of AMD - whether its a CPU or GPU - AMD always seems choppy on high refresh monitors - intel/nvidia is always way smoother
what I think is the biggest tragedy is all the gaming handhelds - not a single one has come out with a dedicated GPU that i'm aware of - like if the lenovo legion go would have that z2 extreme paired with like a 4050 mobile gpu or even a discrete AMD mobile GPU, it would have been 100x better
and the 2nd gen haven't figured it out yet either
There was an ASUS Rog Flow Z13 in the previous gens that had dedicated mobile GPU - i think one special edition actually had a 4070 mobile gpu in it - that was so awesome!!!! wish i could afford it lol
The newest ASUS Rog flow z13 went to the same AMD mobile APU - no dedicated GPu - very sad 😭
@shell pebble that so the pc manufacturer can charge you more by selling an eGPU housing and possibly a custom GPU size that only works in that housing
Can anyone help me?
With?
So I just bought cox WiFi but my pc doesn’t have a coax port nor do I have one in my residence. What do I do?

Anyone here operation off of AMD gpu and cpu combo? Looking to upgrade my pc entirely and not sure which route to go. I’m running off of a RTX 2070 currently and i7-9700k
.
ive got a Ryzen 5 9600X & an RX 7900 XT - I find its a pretty god combo, but in my experience Nvidia drivers seem to be a bit more stable
For the CPU get AMD for the GPU stay NVIDIA
yes works perfect, AMD has very stable drivers for GPUs since the RX6000 series, even better than nvidia
i have a 7600X and 7800XT combo, even better if you are on linux, dont get an AMD gpu if you work with AI tho, ROCm is nowhere near CUDA, but if its for pure gaming then AMD cpu gpu is the best price for performance choice
get a 9600X3D/9700X3D/9800X3D + 9070XT if you do go for amd cpu + gpu
12gb rtx 5070 gigabyte
Gigabyte b850 M EAGLE WIFI6
Coolermaster 750w v3 80+ psu
Amd ryzen 5 7600x
Corsair vengence ram 16*2 ddr5
360mm liquid cooler Gigabyte
Wd black sn7100 1tb nvme
AMD has some impressive stuff - but there's one real reason why i'm still an intel/nvidia fan
When you have a super high resolution screen, like my 4k tv, and a high refresh panel, like a 120hz or 144hz - and it has HDMI 2.1 in order for you to actually achieve that resolution at those fps.... when you're in a high graphic game like final fantasy XVI and you're somewhere that there are creatures moving around you and stuff like water/lava flowing in the background
When you tilt the camera level with the ground and you hold the stick to the right so it rotates around your character - it's ALWAYS choppy with a AMD CPU and/or GPU
Using Intel/nVidia - it's smooth
there's no benchmark in the world i've seen accurately test that
hey these are the same componenets as my pc but i have a ryzen 7 7700x instead
How much should i spent on a Moderate PC in order to run Monster Hunter Wilds?
1500 minimal for a "moderate" pc.
Build Guides
Thank you so much, i will check, seems that i need to save at least another month
Are you canadian?
There are some decent american and canadian sites out there.
If you are american, I've always heard microcenter is the go to place. 1500 canadian is about 1000 usd.
Well here at Colombia its almost another 300.00 USD with Taxes
MotherBoard A320M GAMING PRO (MS-7A39) current CPU AMD Ryzen 7 1700. I tried putting in a AMD Ryzen 7 3800X did not boot, tried with one stick of ram no luck. I even put the old one back in and updated bios and tried nope nothing. help would be greatly appreciated.
hey yall, here as of late, ive had a problem with my monitors randomly going completely black, and OR when they go black, my game either A) Freezes, or B) completely shuts down the app.
my CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7500F and GPU is a NVIDIA RTX 3080.
How many monitors do you have
Depending on what you do at the same time it's possible your gpu can't handle both monitor's display while dealing with "high" usage
Happened to me
Especially if the monitors have high refresh rates etc
they're two different ones, one is a 244, whilst the other is like
120
or something liek that
rtx 5060 ti 16gb or 4070 12gb?
hmm
@slim vortex did you figure out what the issue is yet
I factory reset my whole pc and it fixed
Okay yeah I was going to suggest it to
Hey @sleek forge This is the channel for help with building pcs, Feel free to review this #📢┃announcements message page for further info!
I have a motherboard Asus Z690-P Wifi its not working toke it to computer shop they said its finish 😞😞
Can somebody tell me what the problem is they said my pins in the sockle was little bit damaged they fixet it but still not working starting up but shows fail
It would be nearly impossible to diagnose a board issue without inspecting it under a scope and testing it directly. If the board is still under warranty, I recommend sending it in for a replacement.
@wheat salmon it's very odd that pins on a mobo are damaged when the CPU has worked just fine and then all of the sudden stop working, but it totally happened to my friend.
i was able to bend the pins back and got him working again though!
If it's a Z690, it's very likely out of warranty, that's a couple gens old of a board.
Check out this Linus video where they got a bunch of motherboards off ebay and fixed all the pins 🙂

The cost of motherboards has ballooned in recent years so to help out those on a budget we wondered if there was a cheaper, sketchier way to get a motherboard from eBay.

Hi everyone, in the past i have build a few high end systems for myself and my friends (although it has been a year or two). Now one of my friends approached me telling me he had around 3500€ to spend on a pc and i should build him a high end one. My friend told me he is a big Corsair Fan so i tried using a lot of corsair parts. (If your wondering why it has a 1200W PSU its because it was cheaper than the 1000W Model here in Germany). Any suggestions or possible feedback i could get for this pc would be nice. THX (im also still waiting for Black Friday sales so i can possibly get some parts for cheaper)
someone help me
please
i enabled safe boot on my pc to play battlefield 6
and now i just have blank screen
Ur pc or game?
Hello
Lol
hi what is ssd should i buy dm me pleas
it honestly depends on what you need! based on my experience Samsung NVMe SSDs are reliable
I bought a 970 pro 6 years ago, still going strong until now on my laptop
hi, im look for new pc, max price 3500 € what i could possible get in case for this?
It really depends on the prices in your region, but 3500 is around 5.6k Canadian, that gives you tons of options for the best equipment for years to come. Your best bet would be to reach out to local gamers or communities in your area they’ll have a better idea of what’s available and worth the price locally.
well i must have gpu nvidia because i use software that works only for nvidia.
do you think i could get pc with 5090 for that price?
Doubtful but that really depends on shipping although I have seen 5070 builds for about the price you are able to pay

Hello everyone, is it a problem to have my table on a carpet and PC Case on the table?
Hey
Anyone knows a good prebuilt that can play all triple A games and stuff high quality
i dont see a problem there, just dont put the pc on the carpet floor because it will get dusty very quickly. maybe you need somehting to put under you table so it will not leave marks on the carpet
it always depens on your budget, otherwise nobody can help you out
Yo who knows about gaming computers? Can I send you these two I’m looking to buy I’m tryna decide which one is better if this used one off the Facebook marketplace is good or a new one off Best Buy tryna figure which one would be more worth the money as a start computer
This one is the Facebook marketplace one he wanted $650 and comes with a razer keyboard
This one is the Best Buy one and it’s $1100 and also comes with keyboard plus mouse
I didn’t know if I should get the $650 one and just upgrade it from there or go with the $1100 and upgrade it later after saving up more money
in my opinion, go with Best Buy for warranty, just in case something happens
Pleaase buy a GPU with 16GB of VRAM. Do every gamer a favor and spend the extra money for more VRAM, Especially if you are going to be playing modern slop you need that extra VRAM also it tells GPU manufactures we don't want 8GB VRAM cards anymore.
I bought a much better pc than shown it actually just came in but I need some help it has wires unplugged I don’t know where to plug them in been looking for 25 mins now
Can we video call?
yes
call me when you can
yo is anyone around?

We can hide this for the next year or 3

Hey guys, I am extremely low income, and trying to find the best way to upgrade my pc. I am running a Ryzen 5 3600 and 2060 with 32gb DDR4. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello @cloud pasture Thanks for the kind words feel free to create a #1223700061922263070 post next time as this channel is specifically for help with pc building.

Please feel free to open a #1223700275001561129 ticket or check out our #📚┃frequently-asked-questions, thanks!
You got enough ram I can say that the 2060 is still usable maybe upgrade to a Ryzen 5 5600X? I'm not a PC builder so not qualified advice
I was debating the 5700X. I'd love an X3D card, but those are dooo spend anymore, lol.
Also a choice, a x3d is just more of a premium, honestly you'd probably GPU bottleneck next. Think the 40 series cards fell in price?
I was debating if the X was a good chip. Also as far as GPU goes, I'd be happy with a 30 series at this point, lol.
Im getting a laptop tomorrow, battery is shot but im getting another one later in the week, was wondering if there is any help on changing the RAM out and putting it into the new one
Changing ram on a laptop is pretty straight forward, if you are unsure just watch some youtube videos.
idk
theyre only 900 right now tho
9070xt
both actually
both around the 800-1000 range
Difference in performance between lowest tier and highest tier in the same SKU is 5% at most.
Decide if the price difference is worth the features that the different tiers give you
Hey @valid kite, could you kindly create a #1223700275001561129 ticket? Thanks!
Thanks! On it ❤️
So im upgrading my ram its ddr4 and im gonna get a 16 gb kit for 106 should i do it or nah
106 $?
I currently have 8GB DDR4 3200 RAM in my PC and I bought another 2x8GB DDR4 3200 kit, but they’re a different brand. My motherboard has 4 RAM slots. Can I run all 3 sticks together for 24GB total, or will mixing brands cause problems?
Should practically run, but depending on the memory controller it may be unstable.
If the default speed and timings match between the 3 sticks, there's a chance of higher stability.
If you aren't ready to tune up and troubleshoot, use only the matching kit.
Do any of the mods work for No Man's Sky anymore?
Hey @little scaffold, how are you today? Yes, they are up and running, if you are facing any issues kindly create a #1223700275001561129 ticket so we can take a look into it ❤️
it didn't work, I'll submit a ticket and see what comes up.
So how do i build a nuke ?

Check channel description
i see, so how do i build a pc inside of a nuke.
should be fairly simple really, all you need is to watch a linus drop tips video.
I found your answer
Uh, you don't
But I need
you do a pro gamer move called overclocking at unstable levels
Cool.... Hom much km will take explosion area?
depends on the specs of your pc
hm, an i3 4000 series with an gt 500 should work
What about only 5 cm?
you would need an rtx 4090TI with an Intel 99990k
each and every single time there is a new channel i always find a way to ruin its purpose
And also i need to make all inhabited for long period of time, better make it radioactive or so something like that

for extra radioactive fallout that lasts quite a long time, what you will need is one 512MB DDR2 memory stick
the radioactive fallout from that should equal to about 50000 years of radiation
no problem
So helpful
Now i can be proper nuclear terrorist
In PC Building sim*
IRL PC building sim?
do you guys have idea about how to build a certain ward vent against CIA underlings
If you are building a new pc I would say 32gb min
Can you mix and match ram? I have Corsair 16gb vengeance. Could I put in another 16 GB ram that's not the same make?
Yes you could. It may default to the lowest speed though
@coarse geodeyes as veloxia said u can. In 2 of my systems i have pair patriot and 1 pair of corsair, and other kingston pair an samsung pair all same speed, if u get even 1 stick at slowe speed then all yer ram will run at that speed
@terse ferry so aslong as it is the same speed as what I have already it will be fine?
yeah be ok. Otherwise if u have even 1 stick at slower speed all ram will run on that speed
Gotcha! Thanks for the info

There is a game that is not present in the program, what is the solution?
hm, if there aint a game in your pc, then buy it or find a source to install it
You did not understand what I mean
I'm talking about the software, not my device
i am confused as to what you mean, clearly you need help with building your pc
as that is what #pc-build-help is for
@smoky shuttle-

eh enough messing around, you probably mean wemod support, go to #wemod-support
Cause I can
understandable
Hey guys maybe you can help me if i open the microsoft store and want to install a game or app it says there was an error all the time
This would go more under the #pc-troubleshooting chat
sorry
no issue
Who in here is good with understanding computer specs????
Hello
me
What's your specs and budget?
what u need to know? i deal with hardwaare all the time. If u post give me time to answer as i am doin alot of stuff, lol
@tender bough you probably should have asked Mayhem3271 if he knew how to bring up his computer specs. He might not even know how to even read them because not everyone is a techie.
I myself am looking for a new motherboard, RAM, and CPU because I really need to upgrade my RAM but in order to do that I've gotta do everything else. Anyone got any good recommendations on what I should get.
I've got a big case capable of supporting an ATX motherboard
What about M.2 ssd and heatsink???? I wanna get one with my new laptop but idk which one to choose
i use 2 on my nvme drives in my laptop don't really need em if u got compound strips
this is just an example do not buy these ones
https://www.amazon.ca/Thermal-pad,-70x20x1mm-2280-Heatsinks/dp/B07PFBPK4V

This has resulted in situations where SSDs, especially the smaller M.2 variants with...
Should I add RGB? Does this make my pc run faster? if so please say I if not say neigh

Oh nooooo i made my pc out of RGB

ive been using colgate as thermal paste because someone referred it to me
umm what i only ever use thermal paste usually arctic or other silver brands they last long

https://www.eeweb.com/cpu-thermal-paste-substitutes-tips/
who knows? i don't lmao
That's fair

https://www.tomshardware.com/best-picks/best-thermal-paste
Just lower the load on the chips
Feed it water
as5 is cheap and does the job. 5-8 usd
I'd go the MSI Stealth. Pricier, but better specs & display
I have thirteen drivers that driver fix says need to be updated, get error that says to install manually, try that, doesn't work and says already updated to newest version, plz help
ah, wrong channel whoops
driver fix is a scam and doesn't work.
fair, what would you suggest @supple prawn
Checking on each manufacturers website.
Any thing like driver fix that isn't a scam?
Nvidia for graphics if you're running nvidia, AMD for graphics and chipset if running AMD, Intel for anything intel, realtek for anything realtek. Motherboard manufacturers for most everything else.
fair enough, most of them are realtek
if you go to realtek's site there's a download page for a bunch of their drivers
IOBit does all that in one nice piece of software. Driver Updater
Iobit is also malware.
never had a problem while I've used for the past few years
It can damage the files cause issues of used incorrectly.
Ah see there. Key phrase. If used incorrectly
Luckily the software has built in help icons and a huge FAQ on the website just so people can't say he software messed up my rig
But
its always best to use the websites the hardware is from so yes I agree Maverick however some people have no idea what they are looking for most times when it comes to driver lingo
and youtube is full of great stuff and horrible stuff in regards to comp building
regardless of that they still don't have proper help.
Im trying to install windows 7 on a different hard drive from my computer with windows 10 but when I try to run the install it says that bios isn’t compatible
Is there a fix or is there nothing that can be done
if you're running a ryzen cpu you're going to have a challenge.
Fug
@burnt gulchwhat is the model an make of your mobo

can anyone tell me whats the best gaming laptop but cheap
you're not going to get a decent gaming laptop for any less than 600-900.00 USD before tax.
ok whats a good one for 1.5k or more
Probably anything with a ryzen processor and an Nvidia GPU.
Look into ROG Gaming Laptop
Look for Ryzen 7 or 9 CPU, and a Nvidea GeForce RTX 30 series GPU
With 16+ GB ram, and a SSD
@safe warren
Mines a Asus ROG Strix, RGB, 144Hz IPS screen, 512GB SSD, Ryzen 7 4800H, Nvidea GeForce RTX 3050, 16GB RAM and it was about 1k USD
Have y'all had any luck with prebuilt systems? Don't have the time/patience right now to build, troubleshoot, or RMA crap so was gonna look into NZXT, Omen, or maybe even an Acer Predator off Amazon. Just curious what the bloatware, DOA risk looks like?
I have an omen 25l (prebuilt) that ive been using since March last year and it was not doa
Bloat ware hasn't happened either
I've got like 5gb of storage left and everything still runs fine
i never buy prebuilt systems as a rule. only laptops i get which upgrades r limited to ram and hard drives
what daddyEcho mentioned asus is great i only buy asus mobos, my laptop i bought last year is asus tuf, with ryzen 9 cpu and nvidia rtx 2060 laptop had 16gb ram and a 512gb nvme ssd, i upgraded the 512gb nvme to a 1tb nvme for my windows, added a 2tb nvme and a 2tb sata hdd, added a 32gb stick of ram to the 16gb that was in it, has played every game i tried with it with full ultra settings
yup, i can future proof this laptop, get 2 32gb 3200mhz Ram Sticks, SLot another m2 SSD into it and i'm golden
ya i was gonna grab 2x32gb sticks but i was getting conflicting info whether 32 or 64gb was max si i jus grabbed obe to be safe l8r i will grab another but 48gb is fine for now
You can run 256 if you really want in a desktop
It’s all about the motherboard, the only limiter really iirc is the Memory Rate of the mother board
Hi guys!
Not really expert in building pc, just wanna know can below specs support 3060 gpu?
Currently using GTX 1650, feels like wanna upgrade it, thanks!
AMD RYZEN 5 3400G
AMD RX VEGA 11 iGPU GRAPHICS
GIGABYTE B450M-S2H MOTHERBOARD
PNY XLR8 8GB DDR4 3200MHz x2
PNY CS900 480GB SATA SSD
INVASION EX550 550W 80+ SEMI MODULAR PSU
@visual dome Personally I would use a i7 from the year 2020 or better and the rest sounds good to me👍🏻 don’t know about the motherboard but I if it’s a bit up to date and has the plugs for the DDR4 (your ram) it should be good and you can upgrade it whenever you want. I can’t take a closer look bc my pc is out of reach now so I think it’s ok👍🏻 oh and as advice take at least 1 tb of ssd but not 480 that’s to less 😬
thanks mate! it's a budget build from few years ago, maybe it's time to upgrade to a better and more stable one.
appreciate your advice tho!
I'd upgrade to an x570, ditch the vega 11 for a 2070ti or better, and swap the ram out for some G.skill 3600 32gb, then also go with a 5600x at the same time ditching that crappy PSU for an 850W Antec, Coolermaster, or other reputable Gold to platinum PSU.
Kinda related but is DDR5 worth it for future proofing or is GPU gonna bottleneck it anyway?
I’d recommend a Ryzen 7 cpu, you can build some monsters combining it with a 30 series and keep your old GPU as an offload GPU
If that’s too much work you can look for Ryzen 7 with a built in GPU, then install another GPU
With DDR5 you are limited in Motherboards, I wouldn’t say it’s worth it till next generation or 2 of chipsets
Always my friend🤙🏻
I currently have my windows 10 in hdd with tons of game on it, is it possible for me to install windows in my ssd without having to format my PC?
if there is np with the hdd just do a clone of win10 drive to the ssd
Just got my tower in the mail today. Do I need to do this or is it not required????
Here is the tower. Idk wtf to do tho. I wanna change the M.2 ssd to a higher storage ssd and I also wanna change the 4TB HDD to a 2.5 SATA SSD but idk where to find that stuff in here
You don't need the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card, but you won't be able to connect to the internet (using Wi-Fi) or connect to any Bluetooth devices
Can I still connect with an ethernet cable????
If your motherboard supports it, yep
Now where can I put 2 M.2 SSDs in here???? and where is the port for the 2.5 SATA SSD????
depends on the motherboard, most printed motherboards now are labled on the board
It likely will
That’s the sata drive not the motherboard
So I need to get an ssd adapter if I want to install a 2.5 sata iii ssd
But I won't do it cuz I just used an enclosure to connect it to the tower externally and it asked me to format it so I won't do that cuz I don't wanna lose everything
You have to format a new drive
I prefer the newer m2 ssd
They are more expensive but faster and smaller
Already have one picked out
I will install it to replace the 900 gb ssd already inside but not until next week
yes
It looks like it’s already installed my dude, you probably just have to screw in the antennas
Those ports are where you plug your SSD to, it’s helpful to mount it somewhere for organization but tbh since it’s not a spinning drive (HDD) like your other one pictured, you can literally plug it in a shove it wherever you want technically speaking
Edit: this image is from the manual of your motherboard I was able to pull the model from looking at graphics printed on it in the picture
Assuming you’re not familiar, the more narrow cable is the data cable that goes to the motherboard, the wider one goes to your PSU, just make sure you use the cables that came with your PSU for the power connection (power supply’s are picky and only want the one that’s meant to be used for the particular model, otherwise things can get weird real fast)
Yes, you just need to go into your bios and select the new one as your boot drive
Once Formatted you shouldn't have to format the drive again even if you did it within an enclosure.
also Sorry for very late response I was Preparing for my paying job.
i know that but the ssd that I am trying to use already has data on it from my laptop and if I format it with the data still on there I will lose everything and I don't wanna lose anything cuz I don't have it backed up
its all good. but yeah I don't have the ssd that I wanna use backed up and it is kinda hard for me to back it up cuz I don't have any other hard drives that can hold 2.16 TB of storage. I could use Google Drive to back it up but that means I would have to pay $25 a month for 5 TB of google drive storage that I won't even be using most of
Other solution would be to just invest 230.00 in a 8tb firecuda 3.5" HD and dump backups there and use it as a secondary install point for your games.
How many RPMs does that have????
7200
Yeah apparently it is good for gaming on pc. I find it hard to invest into HDDs now after using SSDs for so long
I'm wondering if I can swap out the GPU for a 3080 Ti and sell the 3080 to someone else
You can but it is hard to do right now because everyone is afraid of getting a card used for crypto mining
Wait what????
No one wants to buy used GPUs
Why not?
7200
Sorry I wasn't checking discord I was having a prework meetup with some coworkers and friends.
What is a good pc setup for 1250 €
Because i want to build my first gaming pc
And need some proffesional builders what I should buy
Thank you
i have a question, im new to pc stuff but if i wanna change graphics cards how would i do that do i just take it out and put it in and the end? or is there more software or downloads i have to do?
which gpu do you have and which gpu are you moving to?
i have a 1660 ti and im thinking abt a 2070
you should be fine
okie
the most you might have to do is update the nvidia drivers
np
Within the next couple years
yes
thank you
All m.2 drives are SSD’s but not all SSD’s are m.2’s
X570 and an AMD R5 5600x would take you further. @blissful anvil
The M.2 inside the blue circle....Is that a heatsink or something else???? I need to know so I can decide whether to buy an ssd with a heatsink or not
looks like a heatsink
They technically don't need a heatsink but a lot of people suggest one
Which ssd is best for pc gaming????
I can choose Samsung 980 pro or Crucial P5 Plus or WD Black SN850
The price is amazingly low on Amazon too
I have to get a heatsink with that one though cuz they run hot very fast
Is the Nvidia 3080 ti any good?
Ok, because my dad and I built a new pc and used the 3080 and it can get a bit slow sometimes. Maybe it's the ping idk
Makes Sense
Slow with what?
Did you plug your monitor into the port on the motherboard?
Yes, do make sure your monitor is plugged into your 3080ti and not an integrated graphics card :)
Frames per second
I believe the question was what game? What app?
More like what everything.
I'm terrible with PC specs, but I assume RAM and CPU is also important
Yes, definitely important
So if only the GPU is great, and everything else is poor, that could also cause the problem
Right?
Right
PC building sim has not let me down so far
Well for building a real computer, if possible, you'll want to use dual channel RAM, it runs faster. Don't mix RAM speeds, it'll always opt for the slower one. Don't mix modular PSU cables, it'll kill something
Yea, pre-built is only slightly more expensive for the same quality and you can blame others for errors :^)
In many cases cheaper even
Manufacturers pay less for parts most of the time
I am about to buy an ssd for my pc from Amazon....should I buy it new or can I buy a used-good one for cheaper price????
SSDs typically have shorter lifespans than HDDs so unless you're planning to only put games in there you might want to max it's potential lifespan by buying new
yes as fluffy said buy a new one as it will have longer life, with a used one u have no idea how many writes have been done, i myself bought all new ones for 3 laptops and 2 macbooks had a good deals when i bought em
New
Period
No exceptions ever for SSDs tbh
They can only write a certain amount of info before they die even if wiped
Used ones are a 50/50 with lifespan
So what you are saying is i got scamed. On a prebuilt. The os is on an ssd
New prebuilt?
And you would’ve had to put the OS on it anyways
If you put it on a hard drive it would be slow af
Its an asus rog. I got it when the stimulus checks came out.
So no you weren’t scammed your fine
Yeah your definitely fine then
ASUS takes great care in their prebuilts
Ah ok. Lmao didnt want my ssd to die randomly then my pc not work
They have an ok lifespan of around 5-8 years of everyday use
It’s just if you buy one used some of that lifespan is gone which is why I made that comment
Ah. Makes sense.
Glad I could help you see what I meant
I haven’t been here very long but if you need anything you can dm me or come here and I’ll respond most likely
I bought 2 WD Black SN850 2 TB SSDs....How long do those last inside a prebuilt gaming tower????
probably a really good while
Higher end so id assume a good 8-10 years of daily use
u should get great time but also depemds on how much you write it if u r just averaf\g person or gamer u will get a longer time than like would on my laptops cause i am always testing OSes so i do get bout roughly 4 years or so on sata ssd my nvme ssd drives r only like from same as my laptop was manufactered between august and september 2021 i have the original 512gb nvme which i took out an put it a tiny external an put a 1tb and a 2 tb nvme crucial brand
Yeah your fine, ROG and tuff are great, mines a monster laptop with a Ryzen 7 + Rtx 3050
Depends on thermals, and with prebuilts I will assume that it will last not as long as expected.
so after installing the 2 TB WD Black SN850 SSD inside my tower, I formatted it so that I could use it as extra storage....there are 2 things I noticed....1 being that after I formatted it, only 1.81 TB of free space was left....2 being that when I was playing Persona 4 Golden on it, it was running smooth for 4 hours, but then another 4 hours pass and it was getting major lag....idk if this is an issue or not but I did buy the ssd as brand new from Amazon so I know that nobody screwed me over in terms of the quality of the product
my WD Blue SN570 is advertised as having 500GB but the real capacity is 465GB, this happens with HDDs and SSDs
the total space is more like 500,000,000,000 bytes which doesn't translate perfectly into 500GB
I think this is because of differences between storage measurements like GiB (which might be 500?) and GB
as for your game that's probably your cooling not being able to handle the heat output and your PC settling into higher temps and thermal throttling? I'm not a massive enormous PC nerd but that's my guess
could also be many caches filling up or whatever
Gimme specs
INCLUDING cooling
what specs you need????
how do i even find every specific spec???? this is a prebuilt tower....it doesn't specify the motherboard and cooling and all that
Might just be the video game itself, does it still lag after you relaunch it?
I haven't relaunched it yet so I can't say but I will try again later when I have time
@cloud horizon Grab the program speccy it will tell pretty much everything bout yer system
https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy
Speccy - find the details of your computer's specs. Great for spotting issues or finding compatible upgrades. Download the latest version free.
Game slows down a bit -> "all hands on deck this is unacceptable!"
Don’t worry then. Mainly cooling
Not necessarily, but it is annoying
It has liquid cooling
What size is your AIO? If you know that is
Gimme your CPU as well
Processor is an Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10850K CPU @ 3.60 GHz
I got question off topic for pc but I know most people have gaming laptops which one do yall think is better
Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-760S Gaming Laptop | Intel i7-11800H | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU | 15.6" Full HD 144Hz 3ms IPS Display | 16GB DDR4 | 512GB SSD | Killer WiFi 6 | RGB Keyboard
Price around $1300
Or
Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16" 165Hz QHD IPS NVIDIA G-Sync 500 nits Gaming Laptop AMD Ryzen 7-5800H 16GB RAM 1TB SSD RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6 TGP 130W
$1500
I wanna do school work and game.
The second one. The legion 5 pro has been on sale several times recently for $1100-$1300
Ok thanks
in all technicality choosing the right laptop is part of getting help with a build. 🙂 It's more build choice than actually building the computer. 🙂 I second Chris's recommendation.
I use a Lenovo Legion laptop now. Not the same one you've described, but I love it
Ok thanks I opted for a cheaper version of it only difference is I got 3050 ti instead of 3070
Yea I just purchased it and hopefully coming end of this week. I just hope it doesn't have the black screen issue I seen a lot problem with legion 5 pro having
What black screen issue?
The second one for sure, CPU Ryzen 7 beats the i7, and a 3070 is better then a 3060, and GDDR6 is leagues better then DDR4
Supposed people have left reviews and youtube videos of thier laptops having black screens when playing or browsing. Then they have to constantly turn it off and on. Supposedly some people problems was with windows 11 not fully updating or they had force back update on thier drivers and etc.
Kk thanks for info
Sounds like a venting problem tbh
@rotund wedge I hope you ordered it with windows 10 and not 11
I guess I'm the only one who likes Win 11 ._.
My laptop has it :U
It's just Windows but the latest version, my win11 has worked fine since day one
Windows 11 is goated
Hello guys
I have a question about some gpu s
which is better: a rtx 3060 12 gb vram or 3070 8gb vram ?
I can see more vram and that's nice but about that 3070
I think that 3070 has more power then a 3060 and it doesn't matter more vram right ?
You can go with RTX 3070
High vram is useful for graphical editing, not as much for gaming
Oh
Alright
Unless you have a huge game
I didn't know that 🙂
Ty both of ya
Anytime man yw
Fun fact - My cousin couldn't launch Forza Horizon 3 because his old graphics card only had 1 GB of VRAM, and I think he needed at least 2 GB.
It's funny, because his graphics card was good enough to run the game. VRAM stopped him
But yeah, 8 GB of VRAM should be plenty
funny 128mb VRAM card intensifies
So within the next 6 months money wnt be an issue anymore and i am looking to get a build set up for high end gaming design studio business and streaming trying to understand what all i need im think around $10k will be a decent setup just for the tower im thinking of getting triple monitor set up i have my keyboard etc already to go been using it for over 2 years love it so dnt need need a new one lol but anyways give me some great builds to go with im a first timer but i have some tech buddies irl that can help assemble once i get the build i want but which cooling system is better and y im partial to water cooling but idk so let u guys convince me on an imaculate build 7-10k
Well thats weird lol my name is black beard but its using a name i havent used in ages lol
Jesus, 10k for a "decent" setup? That's pretty much the top of top-end if you're living in Australia
I spent 7k AUD on my PC (granted, built it 3 years ago) and it's considered top-end. Probably nowadays, it'd be towards the low top-end range or high mid-range PCs
Also, that's because it's linked your account with WeMod. Whatever your WeMod name is, your Discord name will be also
Usd im sure the currencies r close
Word that was wut i was thinking happened
Lol i was playing on the decent setup wordage i know its gunna be a monster
10k USD is about 14.5k AUD
Lol yeah there u go so what recommendations for this kinda build wuld u recommend bro?
And y?
I couldn't really tell you. Not sure about the price differences between the US and Australia. That seems like enough money to get the best of the best tho
I know but i want something that will last and keep up with games and my business and designing things with ease and flawless execution with the best of everything in it and i dnt have to worry for a few yrs of upgrading things
you're gonna be well future proofed even with stuff that isn't top of the line like an RTX 3070 Ti and a good AMD CPU in my opinion
Price isnt really a thing to me im running into some money within the next 6 months so i just want a shopping list and figure id ask in here since yall have this and get some perspectives so build me a pc im a first timer build but i have some tech friends that will help me assemble everything once i get everything
and 32GB of higher MHz RAM
the fastest MHz which is like 5000 something is probably excessive
I think the one I wanted to go for was 3200?
I was thinking amd with rtx already so glad ur confirming this for me 😎
I have a Ryzen 7 3700K and it's been great so far
it won't be a bottleneck when I upgrade my 570 to an RTX 3070 Ti or my 16GB of RAM to 32GB 3200 MHz
a good water cooling setup probably beats the best air cooling setup
I'm not huge on cooling knowledge though so don't take my word for it
Word wuts a good or great water cooled way to go?
most people opt for a small water cooling setup that's a CPU block hooked up to a triple case fan
Yeah im asking so if there is a debate i want the why’s so i can hear both sides of it kind of thing
Just looking for help and understanding wut to get already making my list from what ur saying fluffy
idk what to recommend for cooling
I got something from Thermaltake
They're pretty good
@elder horizon with a 10k budget just for the tower you could build pretty top of the line and do full custom water cooling as well
I read you want longevity built in essentially aswell, but you also mentioned business, what kind of work type tasks are you going to be using the machine for?
I saw the bit you said for designing as well but that’s a very broad range of things 😛
10k………..
Holy SHIT
Graphic design along with movie editing a couple other side hustles including some funnels and launch a froeght company by December
how do you feel about water cooling?
Pro's
Much better cooling
Lower average temperatures
Aesthetics if you want to make it fancy
Much quieter typically
Con's
Bi annual maintenance roughly (basically drain and run some cleaning fluid through and then drain and refill with regular fluids)
A little expensive (but would fit within your budget)
Air cooling is generally cheaper, can be used in conjunction with an AIO, is a bit louder to maintain similar temps to watercooling but can be less consistent, requires nearly no maintenance other than the occasional dusting
But Core Components wise
R9 5950x (w/ a higher end x570 board)
3090 (std or even TI model)
128gb 3600 ddr4
Would recommend some Gen 4 NVME ssd's due to the nature of work along with high cap ssd's for extra storage
1200W power supply would do you well and may be a bit overkill but becomes a part youll never really have to worry about
would be what I would recommend with your budget and load usage
since it will double as a workstation
Thanks bud
if you want a specific parts list of what I would build with a 10k budget for a tower lmk 😛 just didnt want to get too nitty gritty if you dont want a full list
Can also answer pros and cons and why what parts etc 😛
u guys seem so rich i dont even know if i should be here asking questions 💀
Hint: they're not
I can barley even afford a 1440p monitor xd
When it's the only thing you ever spend money on, you get a larger budget than most
Cant imagine
oh and a silly question
is using a RTX 3060 6gb for graphic designing painfull?
Depends on what you're trying to render
is it very limiting?
Very high resolution rendering requires more vram, if you're not going to work with that, you'll need less
It can be a bottleneck yes
ok, thanks
You should get something based on what you're planning to do, not the other way around
okie :>
IKEA
People very commonly use the “Alex” drawers with one of their kitchen countertops (they’re nicer and more sturdy than the regular desk tops they offer)
Boys I bought two monitors from my neighbors both of em are 165 hrz I payed 200 buck was it worth it
Sure
