I've had them for 5-30 seconds 5+ times per game all day today, seriously full-tilting, I can speak to my mates on discord while it's going on, spoke to three other danish players who have experienced the same today, but the players I've played with was not affected. @heavy verge Any info on this? I have never had network lag before, haven't played for 4 days or so, come back to day and network lag all the time. Must be some small update conflicting with certain hardware or software I assume since not everyone has it?

No problem. Network lag is a tough one because of how many variables there are of course. Often has nothing to do with either you or the game, and is instead the result of a change in the internet route taken between the two. If you are able to connect to a VPN and see if that changes anything, it could provide more information.

Could it be an ISP issue? I mean, discord still worked, but maybe somehow pubg dns conflicts in someway? I'm nowhere near smart enough in this subject, i'll try to give it some days. Can I dm you if the problem persists more than a few days?

If you reported directly to PUBG Support, it is handled by PUBG support representatives and isn't really detailed.
If you reported to PUBG Shield, reports are first reviewed by other players that are volunteering their time to review reports. Sometimes those reviewers will leave feedback on reports. That feedback is left in #778594142736482314 . That is also the channel where general discussion about the Shield program takes place.

Unfortunately cheating such as the use of controller mods / modded controllers / controller emulators is difficult to prove and requires very good evidence to really be conclusive. We typically strive to not recommend banning for people without evidence that we find conclusively proves they were cheating rather than just having a few good sprays or something along those lines.

I know this question might have been asked a bazillion times, but please help me. I am being put on the LA-sng server for quite some time now, and the ping is high, about 100ms. Even that wouldn't have been a problem, but I also get frequent ping spikes and packet loss (causing me to jump across the map, and lose to enemies I shouldn't be losing). I tried the collect network statistics data in the GAMEPLAY tab of settings. However, that seems to have made the problem worse. I don't have any background tasks hogging bandwidth(Otherwise I would face issues in other games as well, such as CS). The game is literally un-playable in this state. Is there any solution, apart from getting a good VPN? I don't want to get a VPN because a) they are expensive, and b) they might reduce ping spikes but increase overall ping, which will still cause the above issues. I am from India.

You are being directed to EU servers. Your server region is determined by your ping. If you aren't being sent to AS anymore then your ping to AS is higher than EU for some reason. That reason is usually related to the route your connection takes.

ISPs don't do squat here. they don't respond for common internet problems, they are obviously not going to do anything to fix a route. The only solution is if PUBG opened another server closer to my location, or I change my location to some place that has a better, more stable route to the singapore server.

Please PUBG allow us to choose a server, I don't know what algorithm you guys use to decide the server. I would much rather play on a server with slightly higher ping, but more stability(as in no ping spikes and packet losses) rather than a server with lower ping but unstable connection

Being able to choose your server wouldn't solve this. If you are redirected to a different region to normal it means your ping to that region is lower.

PUBG has no control over how your connection is routed.

There are many reasons why your ping could suddenly increase, the most common one in that part of the world is routing related.

There have been situations in the past where damage to undersea cables has caused massive ping issues for some too

Unless it's being widely reported by large amounts of people from different locations that all play on the same server, most connection issues like the one described above are outside of what PUBG can offer a solution for.

It's looking at what is happening at that moment.

What your ping was last week is irrelevant to what's happening right now, if that makes sense.

Ok so you might have the symptoms backwards.

Freezes cause ping "spikes"

Not the other way around.

It's due to how ue4 calculates pings and packet loss. If it's frozen, it sees the timestamps and id's of packets in the wrong order, so shows that as a spike and/or packet loss.

Rubber banding is definitely a symptom of packet loss though.

Testing using an alternative internet connection or a VPN is the easiest way to identify a routing issue.

I did both of those things. I tried my cellular data to play the game, same issues. Although, subjectively, I felt it was a bit better. I think rubber banding happened only once or twice in the match. ping was still occasionally spiking.
As far as the VPN is considered, I only tried it with tunnel bear's free plan. However, I couldn't even connect to a match despite trying multiple times. the lobby would load, but when trying to join a match, it would take an insanely long time and then timeout. Unfortunately, I don't have any paid VPNs (neither do I want to pay for one) so I can't test it out more thoroughly. I tunneled to Singapore using tunnel bear.

Did you use a VPN yet?

Speak to your ISP and/or try a VPN.

Those are you only real options.
