What is DNS?
DNS is Domain Name System, it is used to resolve Domain Names to their respective location or IP address.
Why would DNS be the issue?
DNS is used when services like VoIP are trying to resolve where to send the audio traffic and where to recieve audio traffic from. Certain DNS providers and ISPs have the incorrect information where to send traffic, causing Error Codes in game such as [8]-6.
How do i fix this?

Add 8.8.8.8 as the primary and 8.8.4.4 as the secondary(Google DNS). If you'd prefer to use a different one than google, use 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (OPEN DNS)

The difference between 1050ti and 1060 in processing power is HUGE. The 1060 is almost TWICE as fast. I wouldn't even consider buying a 1050ti at this point. Save up a little bit of money and get a 1060 if you are going to game at 1080p. Its one of the most cost efficient cards, really in a sweat spot. The performance difference is just that big.

it turns out there are basically no voice fixes. theres a dns fix that works sometimes, the dreaded [8] 6-0 we have no fix for

and then the silent audio with no errors is always resolved by voicemeeter, but some people dont like having additional software for this game

and rarely the vivox files get corrupt and we have a fix for that

well ive had none at all...

vivox is just the best, no way around it

anything else would be a downgrade i think

probably even worse, but i think icanari suggested foxhole might not be using it correctly, and i agree

that is the nature of voip. void is a nightmare because the internet doesnt deliver packets reliably or on time

it will literally never be as good as dedicated copper lines

these kind of problems I had them at the beginning of every war, I just restarted both the device, physically, like turn on turn off, plug in plug out, refreshed the device, stopped it and started it again, in foxhole settings audio, always fixed it

yikes okay so if im not mistaken this is a fairly common error with the actual engine of UE4

does this happen often or just on a rare occasion?

because if i remeber correctly this is inconsistent error in many games

there are some launch options on steam you can set the game to "try" and fix this issue

for windows 10 you can set "-norhithread" in the launch options

and for windows 7 its

"-d3d10"

Fixing video frozen while in the foreground (graphics update while switching windows/task)
Problem:
Video appears frozen while the window is in the foreground. Fullscreen/windowed makes no difference and re-installing (even deleting configuration files). Using alt-tab key combination or otherwise changing the window updates the display in Foxhole momentarily and returns to frozen state. This affects the menus and landing screen.
Solution:
Change the foxhole settings for graphics your way through the graphics menu
Options -> Resolution -> Set to the lowest option and apply -> Restore your preferred resolution setting and/or fullscreen mode and apply again.

Using windowed mode may make it easier to switch windows

It's because of the combination of my internal and external graphic cards, they don't work well with the unreal engine. Ater joining the server it freezes and I get a Blue screen: "Driver Power State Failure" and then the system restarts. Have the problem with a couple of games. linux has some shockingly low defaults, like 1024 on many distros

and each DNS lookup or open file counts as one

but it could be a bug thats leaving them open, and maybe even increase it wont help, not sure

its usually configured in /etc/security/limits.conf or something of the sort

the particular one im thinking of is "nofile"

Got a wierd bug

while transferring between regions in a truck the loading screen stays up but i can hear the truck responding to ommands and running into things

And after I rejoined the truck was in the region I had traveled to

But it had moved as if I was driving it with the loading screen up

@stone canyon, fresher mesa version didnt work - same complaint about dx 11. mouse problem went away as soon as i right clicked tho, so thats good. ill try it out longer over the weekend and see if i get the closing socket problem

@idle wagon i have found a full reinstall helped me with region loading issues when they arent network problems

i had something similar to what you had on a few of the island maps i hadnt loaded in several patches and a reinstall cleaned it up for me

not sure if you have reinstalled via the procedure described in the pinned messages

It's worth trying reinstall if it doesn't take you long. Yes I think it's possible it can crash the video
