Which would make the original border running through westgate, heartlands, umbral, drowned and Allod.
The harder way is to look at placenames and realise that the border has shifted many times. Collie placenames are derived from greek and roman mythology mostly, warden placenames from celtic mythology. For instance: Farranac has quite a lot of Collie names; Bay of Artemis, Apollo's Landing, Hermes Inlet and some I guess warden names; McCarthy Fields and Cormac Beach. Westgate (directly south of Nac) has a lot of Warden names: Fand's Chain, Fields of Babd, Killian Quarter, Flidais Pasture and Warden Walk. Even Warden names south of the Bulwark in Westgate; Wyattwick and Siochana Valley

The earliest dates seem to discuss what some call as the ‘Fianna’. It roughly translates from old Caovish as ‘To Counsel’. One could only speculate, but in my scholarly opinion the Fianna describes the earliest methods of ethnical leadership whether they be hereditary or won through combat, chiefs of various tribes as they were. The concept of Clans soon came after what is described the Fianna under the auspices of a tribal chief known as Liab mac Feimor, a gathering that brought many tribal chieftains to convene. From what the records show, they wanted to discuss a formal process wherein Chieftains marked lands that belonged to their own, to save them from the tireless conflicts that could potentially end their bloodlines and throw each tribe into Chaos. The historians hereby dub this event as the ‘First Founding’, whereby the first Clanna of Caovia were recorded and from where various Clans trace their heritage to this very day.

Clans came and some clans soon went extinct after the many inter-tribal conflicts that came and went. However, the man you would soon come to know as Iain Callahan was from a very influential Caovish clan to the North, who dreamed of greater things outside of obtaining more pasture and farming lands from the more fruitful south: he dreamed of a united Caovia, where clans can put aside their squabbles and unite as a true nation. And so came the Unification Wars in Caovia. Iain Callahan defeated every regional Clan within his vicinity and secured their fealty through a shrewd mix of diplomacy and warfare. Some credit him as a strategic genius whose natural charisma drew many clans to his cause of a united Caovia. By the time the dominant Clan Fenwick finally took notice, Iain not only held the loyalty of his own Clan Callahan, but of many others which formed the core of the Loyalist clans that supported his cause: Clans Argyle, Carlow, Conaill, Conmara, Morrigan, Marban, Cormac, McDouglas, Krabbe, Afric, and Solas; 12 Loyalist Clans that rallied to his cause against the much stronger Confederates, headed by the ruling Clan Fenwick and their allies to the South as well as their cadet branches, the most notable of which was Clan Allod and Clan Feirmor.

*The war was fought throughout the next decade, whereupon the Loyalists and Iain Callahan emerged victorious after the decisive battle of Iron’s End, formally receiving Clan Fenwick and other Confederate Clans’ surrender. In the aftermath of this unity, Iain Callahan rewarded the Loyalist clans by expanding their land ownings at the expense of the Confederate Clans that opposed him: some clans saw their holdings reduced while others were dissolved entirely, their new lands serving to further the prestige of the smaller Cadet Clans who fought by Callahan’s side. He did this to ensure that loyal clans were aptly rewarded, while mostly keeping previously Confederate Clans satisfied by letting them keep most of their ancestral lands. The formal declaration that drew the boundaries of the new Caovian Empire became known as the Second Founding, from which many of the clans to this day trace their lineage to with utmost certainty.

An interesting parallel I find is that history of the Caovian Empire during the Great War is scant; most records were either omitted or outright purged. Much like the records we have here in Mesea, it was as though the details and history during the Great War was completely obscured from even Historians such as I. Not that searching for it would do you any good: even attempting to learn about the history of the Great War would earn you a visit from the Internal Ministry. The lucky ones are warned. Those who weren’t disappeared as if they were swallowed up by the ground beneath them.*

These, therefore, explains the reasons why I have been delayed in researching about this, Investigator. Already I have noticed some shifty and suspicious peoples following my every move. Perhaps it was for the best that I came here as opposed to staying in Damokratos: for all this eerie place is worth, even the shadowy agents of the Ministry loathe to even step place in this barren land…

*You know, it never gets any easier to stomach being around the wounded. I’d argue it’s far worse to treat a wounded man than a dead man: no matter how badly mangled a corpse is, a corpse is a corpse. It has no hopes, no dreams and most importantly, a sense of pain. Working in a field hospital is the most soul crushing thing you can ever experience. The wheeze of a man dying from his Ash-choked lungs drowning in phlegm and blood, the agonized cries of men whose limbs were mangled by artillery fire crying out for morphine. Truly, there is no glory here in war and that’s something you find out very quickly working the medical shift, Investigator.

What surprised me first and foremost was the condition of the bodies that we have found in Bagh Mor’s Cove. I have counted 48 men; the identities of 35 I have accounted for: they were Velian with a handful of Kraunian soldiers. I suspected the Kraunians were the auxiliaries that served in an engineering capacity for the 94th Legion. What surprised me, however, were the 13 others who had perished. While they did wear simplified Colonial uniforms…their facial features seem to imply strongly that they were the other Warden Prisoners who were requisitioned to be executed by Legate Alsarius for Partisan work. What were they doing here?*

*The state of the bodies were also equally strange: the Warden “prisoners” bore no signs of torture and died much as all the other Colonials did: their lungs full of sea water as if they were drowned in this cove. But given how the water remains low even in high tide…I find it implausible that all 48 people here died of drowning. How else can one drown in ankle-high water? I saw no signs of struggle within any of these strangely preserved bodies. They reeked more of seawater and salt rather than rot; their bodies were sickly greyish, firm as if hardened by rigor mortis even if they had been dead for longer than a week. None of the corpses were that of the Legate’s Men and his retinue; they remain missing even to this day.

There were numerous other carvings that Director Bondavalli had helped translate for us. Near the very end of the cove were markings, etched with bayonet tips that the Director had translated for us below:*

I had the Specialists and OCdt Lubormirski help evacuate the bodies. I had spoken to a few of the 104th to help us bury the dead. But in all honesty Investigator, I do not quite like the feeling of this place. Something strange lurks about. It’s not quite something I feel very comfortable about. This blasted, deserted land…it puts me at unease.
Already I’ve heard murmuring of people having terrible dreams of the ocean. There is something foul about this place. And I worry greatly. Please care for yourself also, Inspector. The wounds of a tired mind can seldom be cured by the wonders of medicine.

After eating your breakfast and allowing the Field Marshall of the Suns of Liberty Legion that you will be heading out, you prepare to embark upon your staff car, flanked by Rafal and Agostino. An Armored Car was to serve as a part of your retinue; the Field Marshall had been on edge ever since the rumors of what had happened here began to leak forth.

When the gate was raised, the convoy soon stopped. Glancing outside, you noticed the Armored Car turn it’s turret ahead as a few soldiers moved on. You glance outside and your jaw drops. You had to take a moment to scratch your eyes.

You could not believe it. Standing near the road towards Isawa was a haggard, lanky man who stared back at you. His skin pale and greyish, clearly dirtied with grime and sand the man standing before you looked attentively. You were not the type to forget the face of someone who died: this was none other than one of those “corpses” you found in Bagh Mor, one of the captured Wardens! What was he doing here?!

You turn towards Rafal as if to find any meaning in what you were seeing; he oversaw the burial, yet judging by his similar reaction and how fast he cocked his carbine, it was clear that he too was dumbfounded by the situation. How was someone who had drowned weeks ago and buried…standing before you now?

You stepped out of the car, words refusing to leave your throat.Then, the man spoke himself.

“My beloved, the Tentacular One, bids thee welcome, Inspector.” The man stated. “My name is Finnigan O’Reilly. Or, that was what the Breathing Named me.” Upon closer inspection, you see only the whites in his eyes; he was functionally blind, yet there he was, glancing right at your direction. “...You search for your associates, yet all it leads you it back to us. But do not despair. Her coming is soon…and you, Slaves of the Menace, shall see your comrades return once again!”

The tension hung heavily in the air, especially when the Warden simply drew a pistol and shot himself in the head, the gunshot ringing loudly as the man’s corpse falls backwards. In stunned disbelief you took a moment to remember. Finnigan…the man Legate Alsarius had mentioned…was this person related to anything? As the other soldiers came closer, you would look upon his face: his eyes sunken and his flesh greyish. Yet, from the bullet hole on his head came not blood…but sea water.

You retch and gag, vomiting as the body was taken away. You figured you’d need time to rest. Yet, judging from the shocked faces of the other Colonial Soldiers and that of Rafal and Agostino…what you saw was real.
Something foul was afoot. And you needed to get to the bottom of it.

Your investigation shall continue soon. For now, deliberate upon the events that have unfolded.

Yo i just had a crazy dream idea for foxhole: balloons that can be built at rocket sites and supplies can be stashed in them. They require a bit of fuel to get to the target area but once launched they go to the destination and drop all the supplies from sky onto the ground at the target area. (Can be infront of a newly acquired TH for example so you get shirts right away).

The Calliope was meant as a heavily armored (I say that because most other rocket launchers were lighter armored) vehicle meant for both direct and indirect fire since it could also fire it's main gun, presumably to defend itself if needed in an emergency.

But sadly Relic were too dumb to allow that in both Company of Heroes games, even with a simple toggle function.

Idk, I would say that the Calliope is peak mobile rocket launcher design.

Sufficient armor and speed, can defend itself with a heavy gun if necessary.

Pretty much a normal Sherman on steroids since it could retain all of it's combat functionality.

Same with the Crocodile Sherman.

It had an Auxiliary flamethrower turret just fitted next to the hull machine gunner.

Tank retained full combat functionality.

And that's why I consider the Sherman as one of the best tank designs ever because it served everywhere and could be turned into anything that was needed.

Need a heavier armored tank? Sherman Jumbo.

Need a medium tank on steroids? E8.

Need a bulldozer? There was an attachment, same for mine clearing as well.

Not to mention that it was the only tank at the time to also be able to take in the 17 pounder.

That's why the British used it and dropped developing an entirely new tank just for the gun.

He was the first person I met in Foxhole. Took me through the whole training course, taught me how to fight, then led me into battle. We took out a whole town by ourselves in Fisherman's Row. Like, me, him, and maybe 4 other guys. There were around 10-20 collies, but this guy was a beast. SMG in hand, kicking ass and taking names. The whole time he took care of us. The entire time he made sure we were having a good time.

I saw him take out two light tanks that day. Dance between them with HEs and hit them from behind.

Partisan missions gone wrong....episode one.

War 48, day 152; Apporx. 0354.......Two spec ops troopers proceed into deep enemy territory with standard issue Armored Personnel Carrier on a recon/destroy operation. Weapons taken with include bolt action rifle and SMG with roughly 40 clips of ammo. After penetrating deep into enemy territory and beginning recon the troopers deduce they will have to preform a CAPCD (controlled APC drop) into a river off a glacier. Once preferred location found, the team proceeds to CAPCD and upon entering the water, APC gets caught on glacier causing it to become jammed between floating icebergs and glacier wall. Troopers, thinking quickly, manage to find an enemy crane and recover APC and decide to take different route. For unexplained reasons troopers took the enemies main road to the capital of the region only to be immediately spotted. Unit managed to evade the patrol with superior firepower. While trying to infiltrate first line defenses into refinery city both troopers were KIA. Following is an intercepted wire from Warden HQ on the incident. "Yes sir, no sir, they were killed. No we don't know exactly what they were looking for, but sir, it's got the guys shaken up. No sir, nothing critical, it's just, the spies were just saying they can't see don't worry, even after we shot them." No further contact from troopers leads CHQ to believe the wire's context to be true. All papers on troopers REDACTED and REDACTED are to be destroyed.
