Heya all. Since my rifle prototype had a lot of issues regarding firing, loading and aiming, I've decided to try to make a SMG. This time, I've decided to make the fire/reload system before designing the actual weapon. I don't know too much about firearms and would love it if somebody checks if everthing works.
I've based it on the british STEN, although I've put the magazine vertically, because of the design I want. Thanks in advance!

@south hinge Here's my locking mechanism!

When you press the green button, the lock-doors will open (light blue and dark blue), giving space for the bulge on the magazine (red) to move down. The springs (grey spirals) will close the lock-door and the doors then push the button out again.

You don't have to push the button when you put a new magazine back, because the doors have slight angles which opens them when the magazine is pushed up, but stay closed then the magazine is past the doors.
