I have been thinking about other ways to improve your design, and i had this idea: What about making 1 barracks (for the spawns), and use cohalition locked trucks to hold the materials, they cost the same as barracks, and are a lot more mobile. The walls should still be used. The flaws: they can be unlocked by cheeky friendlies with wrenches, vulnerable by mortar fire (same as the barracks), its easier to destroy a truck than some barracks.

In this design you can see that the only way to get the trucks out is to remove a wall or the barracks. To build it is simple, you make the walls, put the trucks inside, build the barracks and the trucks are safe from stealing! To restock it, you need someone to go in on foot and restock the trucks (from the front gate), like they would with the barracks.

I mean, if you put the gate in the bottom wall and to the right, it could make for a great coalition HQ, except people like to randomly put walls everywhere, which I think could use a 50% reduction in height.

@dusk mirage that looks awesome! Trucks are an interesting idea, especially to save space, but you can't build them wherever you want and it takes time to move trucks, especially if there are more trucks than drivers. Barracks are, unfortunately, weak to small arms fire, so theoretically one jerk with an smg and a wrench could do some serious damage. Half the reason I stressed location was because we needed to keep it hidden from curious randoms who caused some problems last war.
one weakness we talked about of the design was of the sheer time investment it would take to build it, and trucks would make that even more complicated.
That being said, loading trucks with munitions and leaving them somewhere safe is a fantastic idea that I hadn't thought of before, as it would quickly allow logi guys to move munitions anywhere they're needed. It's definately worth looking into some more, the dynamic potential of pre-loaded trucks of supplies ready to go anywhere is too good of an idea. thanks for the suggestion!

If you saw my powerpoint earlier, you know what a challenge it is to move and store munitions efficiently. Goose and I hopped onto foxhole2 about an hour ago to try some of his ideas, and they worked great!
Basically his idea was to replace the barracks with trucks to make the use of space more efficient, and this is what it looked like.
In total, you could fit 6 trucks in here, absolutely destroying the efficiency of my other designs in materials and space. We also learned how to build parking spaces to get the trucks as close to eachother as possible!

The problem we've had in past weeks was the fragility of the halftrack. It died to a single mortar shell or mine... Now that it's tougher, it's been a matter of finding if it was more useful than just having two extra infantry
Because really, all it is is an HMG that takes two people to man, and is useless in a city fight

It's uses are, to me anyways, restricted to open field combat....... But we dont have a problem with open field combat, unless we're drastically outnumbered. Which means the only time we want a halftrack is:
A) were outnumbered
B) were in an open field.
The conditions to be met for this are surprisingly rare, hence why we've never really gotten a chance to try it

if the mounted HMG's were different from the carried HMG (as in making the carried one an LMG as we discussed a while back) then halftracks could be a more viable option

Well it also has a pair of slots with carrying capacity.... Which means you can pack it with 100 fuel/HMG ammo, and 200 grenades/gas which makes it one hell of an infantry support vehicle
But again, needs testing.
