It is so funny that Emperor is one of the only sympho bands I’ve ever heard to say “wait, we can use our keyboard to actually play rhythm guitar parts.”

And them doing that sometimes has the result of the synths feeling a lot better integrated into the music than it would otherwise.

That or it’s kinda used for ambiance and they let the actual guitars take precedence for setting most of what drives the music.

But at the end of the day, it's $20, you have to pick two out of three from budget, build quality and sound quality and most of these recommendations are going to focus on budget and sound quality

Yea i mean im gonna pick yt music regardless of anything, cause im too broke for spotify premium (and the way they treat the free users puts me off) and i dont have an apple device too so apple musics outta question, i waas just kinda curious if theres really a difference in platforms or its placebo

there is a difference between YouTube music and other platforms specifically, since iirc YouTube music plays lower bitrate files than other platforms

But there shouldn't be a noticable difference between high bitrate lossy files and high bitrate lossless files

and streaming is inherently a paid service, there's no use in being surprised by how the free tier sucks when the point is that it's supposed to be paid (a paid alternative for convenience, over the previous standard of just downloading mp3s from Napster and Limewire)

Spotify's a company that was born out of that hole in the market in the first place, they don't have infinite money like that to throw at the problem - there's a reason none of the other streaming services offer a free tier

YouTube Music is kinda just a really nice looking front end for YouTube itself, if you think about it

Saves Google some money if you're just using YouTube for music as they don't have to stream the video file out to you then

Anyways that's going on a tangent, if you're not willing to pay for a paid service, YT music is satisfactory

If you're an ultra nerd who must have the absolute best quality files for peace of mind and don't want to just download FLACs from Bandcamp or whatever, then it would be Apple Music on iOS and Tidal/Qobuz (might need a 3rd party app) on Android

I think most slam is garbage outside of a few bands.

Usually the best “slam” is just normal BDM with slams like Sintury, Ecchymosis, or Orchidectomy.

A big thing I think a lot of slam bands just kinda suck at is pacing which is funny because of how spectacularly Devourment’s MtD is paced.

And you’d think people would learn more from the most popular album of the genre.

I stick to Shrine Of Malice, Shadow Of Intent, Haggus, and Molotov Solution on the average work day. I’m pretty grounded in Deathcore itself from my father.

I’m a death metal fan, so guessing my opinion on deathcore overall should pretty easily follow from that. I enjoy bands like JFaC and the 2006 and before stuff though.

The one-sided DM fan versus deathcore fan hatred is pretty real.

It’s funny to the point where if BDM guys dislike an album because it sounds overproduced, they’ll just say it sounds like deathcore for some reason (as you could see from people’s reactions to the Blasphemy Made Fresh medley).
