all i removed was some stuff in the fx layer that was used to account for a pc only prefab which where gonna be on the pc only one but not the questy one
the parameter list matched though because the pc version and the quest version use the same file for the parameter list
i think the problem was that i uploaded to quest then pc and updated the pc version a few times but not the quest one

No, it’s a software bug, I set it to a value, and then it spaces out between them until it slowly goes too some value between them.
that's, interesting. What do you mean for "Spaz out", exactly? Your radial menu doesn't move, but the "toggles" change between each other?

The radial puppet literally goes between the previous and new values really fast, and then usually ends up somewhere between them, this is reflected visually as well.
does it happen on PC as well? Without a VR?
I made some custom emote for my avatar for the action layer. When I play them I always see them locally, however for other people, the animations only play 20-30% of the time. Most of the time other people simply see me standing in place and jittering slightly.
Would anyone know why that might happen?

I’ve tried the same avatar on both quest and pc, and the pcvr readial puppet seems to be broken, so it’s definitely not an avatar issue.

Okay, sick. Also, just a heads up, it's best not to use vrmodels because it is a ripper site and pretty taboo; it steals people's work. There are tons of free Vrchat avatars to be found on sites like Jinxxy and more options if you are up for paying for a decent one.

I generally just need help or someone to recommend a good tutorial for animated toggles, as in toggles that have an animation that makes them move made in blender or unity. I can never rig them myself, and I always rely on a half working version using VRCfury
I'm working on a non-humanoid model and I'm having trouble getting my avatar's animations working. I've made my own animation tree for locomotion, but it isn't working in-game. It works fine when previewed in Unity with Gesture Manager.

in the hierarchy, you should have a root avatar object, and under that should be something named "body" or similar. No idea what it might be called in your case.
maybe "mesh" there?
if you click it, in the inspector, you'll find a SkinnedMeshRenderer component, and on that, you'll find a dropdown list of blendshapes

you will need to go into the fx and delete the node for the animation

I found out early that if the avatar is floating like that anything I add to it is offset a bit and doesn't look right. I had to fenagle the view spot a bit because it was adjusted to the floating pose instead of the normal standing pose.

2 likely answers are you need the pro version or you need to use an older version of poi, look to where you found the asset and use the specific version of poi it says

Quick question im not the best with unity I know how to do basic toggles and all that but I have a toggle I really wanna do! So what I wanna do is have a music box playing which that part I can do no problem! However the part I need help with is if I ever turn the toggle off I kinda wanna interruption sound like a record screech if the music box isn't finished However if the music box is finished and I turn it off I don't want the record screech to play! I find every time I go into VRChat with FBT, I have to go into the advanced FBT settings and offset my chest tracker. Is there a way to save this offset so I don't have to do it every time I log in?
Wasnt expecting this to be this frustrating. Im trying to make a 2 handed sword. I have a constraint to position it then a look at constraint to try and get it to "point" at the other hand. It is very much disagreeing with me at the moment.
Late reply so won't ping but the easiest way imo would be to make your On toggle animation last as long as the audio file you're playing. Then, in your logic, transition to a "Waiting to be turned Off" state with the conditions being empty and Exit Time set to 1 (Exit Time 1 means this transition will be taken after the previous animation has played exactly 100% of it's duration). You can leave that state to just be your music box On but with nothing playing/going on.
Have a third state "Interrupted" that you transition to from On if your toggle parameter is now Off. Have that state play the screech sound.
Finally both "Waiting to be turned Off" and "Interrupted" can transition back to your "Off" state, the first one, immediately after your toggle parameter is set to Off. The second, after the screech sound is done playing (using the same method of having an animation the length of your audio clip and your transition with Exit Time 1).

have you tried deleting the poiyomi from the project and then adding it back again?
yes and no. if the avatar is public without the appropriate tags then yeah very likely to get taken down or for your account to get suspended, but if its private unless someone goes out of their way to report the avatar there is nothing to worry about

very intersting i would have to think this through and prob expiriment in unity to figure out how to setup the conditions for what you have in mind. wait ok i think i know so you can set it up so when the music is playing a param is turned on that is basicly music is playing when it ends the param turns off then you can set the condition for if music is playing true then play the audio when you turn it off. i think its doable
well thats your issue right there. hair needs bones. if the bones are missing you have a bigger problem. what hair are you using? you might need to find a new one

I recently added piercings onto my newest model in blender (I ctrl+J the head and piercings to combine into one mesh then edited each blendshape so that the piercings moved alongside the face correctly) however when i imported it into unity it lost its t-pose thus disabling biker pose and gesture manager. I tried enforcing tpose in the rig configurator but it will not stick.
The issue message in the console states that it cannot generate any normals for blendshapes on the head as the mesh has no smoothing groups. I thought that it may be an issue with my unity import settings, like the import being set to calculate, but when I tried to go into my model's import settings the program stated that it does not support fbx models and refused to open.
I was hoping I could get some help on this because ive never had this issue before so im not quite sure what the fix is.

you'll probably have to explain more specifically what you've done so far, and what isn't working. Again, there are so many ways to do this
so i set up the animator, made the different animations, put them in the animater made transitions etc. and put them in the sexprecion menu thing so it pops up in game.
but the shirt don't switch

Are you actually having trouble making cloth switch toggle, or make cloth attach to the body?
Try using gesture manager and its debug menu to see how the layer is doing.

So im working in gravity sketch rn. It's fun and easy to use in vr, but I can't figure out how to do the bones. For someone who hasn't got a high spec pc, is there a way I could theoretically set up bones and texture the model?

Afaik you can't create a vrchat ready model entirely in gravity sketch. Try exporting the model once it is finished and importing into blender to rig it
How do i get this to act as an arm? it's connected to the armature of the avatar in blender, all the bones are in the right place, but it just wont act like a damn arm.

I took the rusk FBX into blender, deleted the polys of the arm, added the cyber arm, merged the mesh of the arm to the body, then exported as FBX into Unity. After that i set it up as an avatar (After re=adding all the bones).

as far as im aware no. you would need to carry over the animations too
well you could make a copy of the fx delete all the params and layers besides the one you need
then export that fx with dependencies
and using avatar 3.0 manager (its a package you can add it from vcc) you can merge it with the fx you have inmind
my issue is that I made these layers from scratch and I need them for all my avatars and it's so tedious to redo them everytime xD
so I don't care about the animations at all, really only the tree and the connections etc

you need to weight pain the arm to the bones if you want it to follow the bones

now I got both controllers in my new project and it seems it did export the layers I need, now I just have to transfer them into my new controller
but still - if you mean the FX animator, it's just a file on disk, no need to export. Just make sure you save (ctrl+s) and reload (ctrl+r) to be sure any cached changes are written.
so basicly you will put the avatar where is says you should and click on fx scroll to the bottom and you will see where you can merge fx layers

select the armature, switch to pose mode, rotate the arm bones to see if the mesh moves. If not, check your armature modifier, or check the weight paint.
it might not be painted at all
or not to the right bone names - if it came with its own armature then you'd need to rename the vertex groups in the arm before you merge it with the body.

check the tags of the contact especially
if all that is right then check the FX layer, it may never be transitioning due to a typo or incorrect setup
if its transitioning then its being overriden by something in a layer below it

heya, I got a question - I know the upper chest bone is optional and not required for the avatar to work, however I was curious to know if having one (properly set up and weight painted ofc) would increase the fidelity of the IK and FBT, i.e. does it even get used at all in vrc?
any idea how to fix this or how this happened?
It does get used, though there's only one chest sensor tracked by VRChat so I'm not sure I've noticed it makes any significant difference
not to mention having an upper chest tracker would be hard to mount and very uncomfortable
i was able to get exact movement with chest hip thigh ankle foot and upper arm
I see, am using a 6 point tracking setup so I am heavily relying on vrchats IK to fill in the gaps, my main concern is if the upper chest increases the fidelity in that configuration

we're straying into #full-body-tracking but I actually have and use a waist tracker along with hips and chest - again though slimeVR kinda averages all that into a thing that VRChat supports, which iirc is just the one waist tracker? It does seem to help, though how much, dunno.
chest in general would help with tracking but i would recommend using standable for that
vrchat supports up to 8 trackers
well it started about whether to actually use an upper chest bone on an avatar - I think the answer is if you think the body moves better, sure, but does it actually help if you use FBT? eh...... I'm not convinced it's noticable.

you must use Unity. Blender you use to model/rig though.
personally I add clothing in Blender but that's just one way
For me it depends. if you can't really make the cloth work I'm going to blender

Hi I'm very very new to VRchat. I found a cool space marine avatar and joined my friend today and apparently he was seeing the avatar as like 20 feet tall. In the expression menu it listed my height as 2.45 meters or something like that, which I adjusted to 1.80m but my friend was still seeing me as VERY tall. I could adjust my height to like <1m which made my character appear as a realistic size to others, but it made my camera drop very low to the ground like I was actually tiny. Is there any advice anyone can give me to properly adjust either my character scale or camera height? Playing on Quest 3 through Steam

the height in the quick settings section should directly correspond to the distance between the eye level and the groud

Im in need of some help if anyone can! So, im trying to upload a model for a friend who bought one and wanted me to upload for him, yet every time I try it always fails the security checks. It barely has any toggles (A folder of a handful of expression toggles, a folder with 4 item toggles, and gogo.) And maybe 2 physbones.
I've tried making a new project, decreasing the texture sizes n stuff, deleting the avi from his account and reuploading.
He contacted VRChat support for help, but all they really said was that the file size was too big for them to do anything?? Tho in unity, everything is fine, not to mention I was able to upload the same avi on my own account just fine. Anyone know of any other options I can try?

Question for any avatar creators in here. My avatar’s eyes have a shader that reflects the environment, for example in a movie world the movie will reflect in the avi’s eyes. I’m having an issue where the reflection will randomly stop rendering, and the eyes will go to a default shader. When I blink it comes back again for an instant, but then goes away again. I’m wondering if y’all know a way to fix this. I’m thinking it’s something happening on my end rather than globally, It could even be something in vrc settings, the avi was working fine a couple months ago. Any ideas are appreciated :)

vrchat checks the stats and some objects on your avatar for patterns consistent with most crashers (speculative, but i recall hearing about this in a developer update), so try simply reducing the max amounts of things like particles, meshes/materals, or using another shader temporarily to see if it passes

the pose is entered every time you work with animations - and is not automatically exited. this is why you should either always click preview so it goes out of the pose. if you forget, you need to use pumpkins tools to reset it
many people also make a dupe of their avi in unity, animate that, and then yeet the dupe for this reason also
its a unity thing and it sucks, youll have to get used to dealing with it or working around it

yeah I have a few that I've just marked local rather than rework menus I share between avatar variants
I really like to have my menus as close as possible to the same layout for all avatars, it helps a lot with muscle memory
there is a vrcfury component called parameter compressor that shoud doi it for you
note that it's a bit of a compromise on performance
you dont need to do all that. vrcfury parameter compressor should keep it down. i use it all the time even if im not over param limits

Since you’d need it going in three directions but somehow have the collision on all three work on the root
you'd just use normal collision but use limits to constrain it to the one axis

also if you don't want it to move by itself, set immobile to 1

it's specifcally the VRCFury Gogo Loco Prefab because it's designed to be added using VRCFury. VRCFury does pretty much everything automatically, so it should be drag and drop.

disable loop time on the animation clip, and in your action layer make sure that the exit transition has exit time set to 1
I also prefer having it exit immediately if the parameter is false, and having the parameter automatically turn off after the emote is done using a parameter driver
this makes it so you can stop the emote at any time or switch emotes at any time (by using an INT parameter type and having each emote use the same parameter with a different value, and 0 = off)
