Blender question, how do i copy an arm onto the other arm's bones perfectly? I got taught it once and completely forgot

duplicate the mesh, mirror it, attach it to whatever body you have, try to mirror the weight groups

I was going to get to that, I would but there's a reason. vrc creator companion not only takes up a lot of space but unity is a big drain on my weak ass pcs, so I just use my secondary which is a celeron and my main isn't that much of an upgrade from it, it's a core i3 and slightly better gpu so I just use all it's resources on that one while I still have my main and not use all the resources on here

This happens to me when I try to upload with an unstable internet connection, or not enough space on my PC. But it looks like ur main issue is within the sdk
If you already tried reloading the sdk and it didn't work, I'm curious how the avatar was set up. Did it come with an sdk or did you import one for it? This kinda stuff can also happen if you import one sdk ontop of another sdk

Vrcfury blendshape optimizer, that should help a bit, + taking down texture quality. If you have the knowledge you can also bring the fbx into blender and decimate it

hi hi everyone, ran into this weird issue where generating a imposter for my avatar fails
weirdly enough my other avatar worked fine, but the other one with a different outfit doesn't

Update your Poiyomi version, seems like the one you imported mightโve been a โrecommended versionโ from an avatar, but you can use the latest version

what are your export settings and did you apply transforms before exporting?

cause materials missing are normal and generally you shouldn't rely on them being embedded. It's possible, but doesn't always work
they're parented in blender and move properly but in unity they're just not parented to anything

Z is how far into the head it goes
you need to position on the view point to be between the eyes
slightly inside the head

you could move it by changing the number Y to something closer to 0, so it's in a spot that you can easily find and then you can move it up with the arrow

It's made up of several planes and it's weighted to the hip of a humanoid armature.
make it in blender, you wont have wierd origin or go flat

FBX/Model files are already inside your Unity assets if you obtained the avatar legitimately, you don't need an "FBX exporter" Unity script
She made it in blender and exported it to Unity. The model is meant to be flat. The issue is not with the origin point.
She wants the model to stay flat to the ground, but once it's in VRChat it stands upright.

so if your fbx file is an ascii one, blender won't open that, you'd need to convert it to a binary one

Is there a way to make an avatar stay flat on the ground (parallel with the X axis in Unity)? It looks correct in Unity, but when it's tested in VRChat it's flipped upright to be parallel with the Y axis.
The model is a flat plane weighted to the hip of a humanoid armature. It was modeled in Blender. It is supposed to be flat because it's A Square from Flatland.

I think it just sends a requiest to regenerate. The server takes like 5 minutes to generate the new imposter and change it. So you might be seeing the result from the first regeneration now

you can reset transforms by doing the generic > humanoid if they are waay different 
SOLVED! If anyone is trying to create an avatar that is "flat" it still has to have some depth. Making it just 1-3mm tall is enough to keep the illusion of being a flat plane without VRChat flipping it upright.

I'm having this weird issue, I lowered only a few texture sizes to upload to quest, but when I tried to upload again, it says its 3mb over the limit, I didn't change anything execpt a single image file
your mesh takes up space too - might be a good idea to use a tool like Thry's to look at what's big

Adjust the hip height for your avatar's FBX in Unity and apply it. Adjust it so the feet are not in the ground

Yes so basically in Unity there should be an FBX file of your avatar, do you see that?
Ok so click it, and it should take you into a menu. Press Rig and then press Configure. Once youre in that, click the hip bone and adjust the height to where your avatar is no longer in the ground. Once its how you like, Press Apply and press Done. Then reupload
Sure if it looks correct, also you can always go back and adjust it
Id say just try it and if it needs adjustments then you can do those and retry until it is perfect

you'd have to change the textures directly using smth like photoshop
so basically open your file explorer and open the texture pngs using a photo editing software to change the colors

What is a matcap? why would I want to use one? I dont understand the concept specially since its turning my whole texture gray. (I dont know how its used or when its supposed to be used)

Matcap stands for material capture. Imagine that you have a sphere, and matcap texture will overlay on a sphere perfectly. It determine uv position from angle of incident from camera. It can be used to overlay to replace surface, or use various blending to blend lighting on surface.

The "error while saving prefab" is the one.
You likely haven't import all the necessary packages.
Blueprint ID error is a sideeffect of build failure. You have to look for other error.
When I go look at the site where I bought it, it only gives me the package and says you only need vrcfury and poi shaders

then, if youre sure your state is getting played, it means some other lower layer overrides that blendshape

check through layers and what statete theyre probably in, one of them animates same blendshape

If this is an avatar you bought, and these were there to begin with then you likely missed to install dependencies/extra scripts the avatar needs
this is often stuff like vrcfury or modular avatar and should be in the description or readme file if you have one
Yeah that too, if u purchased it and it's not an avi you're making yourself, definitely double check the instructions it comes with. Typically avatars you purchase come with a read me file that tell you what you need and how to upload
This I got from vr models, when I tried to upload I guess I needed latest poiyomi shaders of 9.0 and I didn't have that. Modular gave me many unrecognised errors so removed that and then deleted the mono scripts and it uploaded.

Oof yeah vrmodels is poopoo I dont recommend you use it. It takes payed avatars and gives them out for free without the knowledge or consent of the original creator. And the files could be altered to contain harmful content, like viruses. I've heard stories of ppl having to get new pcs cuz they downloaded avis from that website

Yeah that's also a good idea but it really takes dedication and time to learn and work through everything. I've been making avatars for a little over 2 years, maybe 3 and the first avatar I ever tried to make didn't even get into the game 
I've taught people and a LOT of them see the process and give up

But the avatar there are not like you should make your personal avatar from scratch
