I realized that although the Unity SDK was updated, the VRC SDK was not. Updating it resolved the problem!
unity needs to die
You need to understand unity.
Unable to use a tool proficiently due to lack of understanding of the tool, and blame the tool for being bad.
Unity, it's just a tool.
That error is a side-effect of other error. You have to take a look for error that came before it.
the error right before it just says failed to build but the one before that says no assetbundle
That's also a sideeffect. You pretty much have to look for few first errors that occured.
Also you should screenshot the error instead of just typing it.

Show the errors before "Assetbundle was not built", anything after it doesn't have any correspondence
Is there a recommended way to add a control toggle for forcing eyes closed on an avi, putting the blendshape on a toggle seems to not do anything (I assume because of an existing blinker script)

And once I managed to actually get it to at least float upwards but if I try to move then it stops working and I fall
one time i couldn't get it to work at all when i had combined the gogo fx animator with another one using the av3 manager, and i couldn't get it to work until i recreated the fx animator from a duplicate of the original gogo beyond layer
what is your avatar's root gameobject scale?
also if you have another avatar saved that you know can fly, try using that one. If it doesn't work then switch to a different world and keep testing that working on until that one can fly
just because some worlds you cannot fly in, so it may be that you are testing in one where it doesn't work

if it helps i know you can fly with avatars in prismic's avatar search world (i'm in that world rn and just tested)

also make sure your gogo loco is up to date if possible

How did you add gogoloco?
I added the VrcFury Gogo prefab. I dragged and dropped it into my avatar in the hierarchy, following a tutorial.
That should just work. There is no any other setup require.
Although you shouldn't put any playable layer other then your own FX in avatar descriptor.
Has anyone experienced an issue where you're trying to do gestures, but the avatar's fingers dont move when your expression changes?
How are the finger look like when trying to pose?
I'm unsure if it's a Gesture/FX issue, because the animations and params are all good

VRCFury already automatically merge gogo fx for you so you don't have to mess with it.

FX shouldn't have any mask to begin with.

Can someone help me with the bike pose playing insread of T-pose issue? I've already tried the fix everybody recommends on youtube and forums, yet it simply doesnt work for me. Whether I use my old FX controller I was working on, or create a new one and drag the T-pose into it, it always resets to bike pose. Its T-posing only when playing this T-pose animation, yet if I make any new one, it always falls back to bike animation

I'm testing out an avatar, and it's stuck in the t-pose in game. I can't find anything online about it, just other people with the same issue. I have uploaded avatars before, but they were free online models for practicing uploading. I have the rig set to humanoid, and I configured the bones to make sure everything was correct.
is the mesh actually weight painted
if thats so then the next thing you want to check is the import settings on your fbx for errors as well as the console

Your avatar is too small. Create a Cube to use as size reference. Cube is exactly 1 meter.

Like changing the material from, say my basic body material to a latex material.
If material property can be animated then you can record animation on it.
But you cannot animate texture changing.

You don't deal with the tracking part in the clip, you do that in the animator state. The clip just does the shape keys.

vermillion is so simple yet so complex 😭
so the issue with shading is appearing only in game, in unity, in vrchat preview it looks good, issue is that my avatar is just pure black, I have metallic texture and with it applied it adds all the shades to make it well less black, other issue is that my avatar's maw is constantly opened (in unity it's closed and in avatar preview it's closed too)
like his main character is legit just a red glowing symbol.
but his other stuff like glitching eyes spinning and ability to transfer the world into the mainframe is going to take a while

ah, mobile shader - probably your model has black vertex colors. Remove them.
I also have the poiyomi shader but I don't know how to setup properly

no, you should start by removing vertex colors if you're going to use the VRChat mobile shaders.

Hello! Long story short, when I import my model from blender, I am unable to adjust the viewpoint, it moves the entire avatar. I tried to make a world constraint for the first time, but i think I messed something up, but then also her eyes when adjusting the eye look, they do a 180, not 100% sure but any help is really appreciated!

Hey yall, I'm trying to do a material swap and for some reason, its doing the opposite of what I want it to do. Basically, the red and black pallette is supposed to be the default layer, where the grey and black palette is supposed to be the toggle.
The black and grey pallette is turned on by default in Gesture Manager, though, and I have no idea how to fix it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Ran into a weird issue with gesture manager, I've set up my avatar descriptor, fx later and menu/params to test out a prop I'm making as I've done a bunch of time before. But when I load up in play mode, the menus appear, but none of the buttons respond. there are also no parameters or animator states. I've repeatedly verified that yes, I've got everything set up in a valid way but I'm just scratching my head. Pulling up a new copy of the mesh and adding an avatar descriptor yields the same result. @ me please so I'll notice the replies, thanks so much for any input

what are you trying to do there? If you want to edit the values, you should edit the values directly

Your eye bones need to be straight up and have a roll of 0 in Blender to fix this properly, you can of course make offsets in Unity but a real pain to deal with

Fixed the issue! The original issue was unfortunately not able to be fixed by adjusted the roll to 0, but I was able to adjust it accordingly

Alright, here's the deal. I know I keep bring up this problem but I've just about had it with this gogo loco nonsense. I've managed to have it to where whenever I click the "flight" toggle, my avatar's feet lift but the avatar cannot fly. I'm going to show some screenshots of my avatar including its descriptor, size, rig, etc etc in case anyone could have any idea of WHAT is happening. I have tried so many things and yet nothing works. One person says try this, the other person says do the exact opposite, nothing is working.

It has basically always been there
Or at least for longer than the issues concerning avatar flight that I have seen.
VRChat did change something that did break avatar flight in the past, but being up to date should be fixing that.

it uses a station (avatar seat) to create a collider that works on quest, since that is the only way to get colliders on a quest avatar

i mean here are some options you can try:
buy a premade avatar
buy a premade avatar/avatar base and edit it yourself
buy a premade avatar/avatar base and comission someone to edit it
create an avatar from scratch yourself
commission someone to make an avatar from scratch for you
It takes a lot of time to teach someone how to make an avatar, better for you to just attempt it yourself and ask for help when you run into some specific issue.
There are plenty of youtube tutorials, go watch one or some of them.
and in any case if you need help with making something yourself, youtube tutorials and the #avatar-help channel are helpful resources
i wanna make it from scratch but the character in tearm im making is REALLY particle based

Well then you are basically set, the Unity bit is for sure easier than Blender.
so you're where i was when i started, you know how to use blender but just not unity
there's lots of youtube tutorials for that
particles are actually pretty simple, try messing around with a particle system's settings for a bit and you'll pretty intuitively figure out how they work
and engalfs an entire map
there's a lot you can do with them
and sends it into the mainframe
Particles are a bit more intense, they are a verrry advanced and most don't do them from scratch, but at least any ordinary Unity tutorial about them can help you with that.

I can make simple particles, but you require better vision of what you want to make than I have to make the spectacular kind, which I assumed they'd be making.
Considering how many cool particles I see, I imagine it is easier than I think it is and I just need to learn it better.
I need some help i have an asset i made its a sword an im using vrc constraints with contacts to sheath an unsheath on vrchat in my side i can see everything fine and it works as intended but for some users it doesn't show and for others it shows i have to sheath an unsheath it and it would eventually show to others but reverse happens any idea how i can fix this?

okay for quest you can do glowing (emissions) with the shader vrchat/mobile/standard lite
yes change your material to that shader
what you need to do is open your texture in a drawing/image editing software or blender/substance painter, then paint all the areas that you don't want to glow black. Then use this texture as your emission texture and set the emission color to white

static might be hard to do on quest, if you want something that'll cover your screen (that's usually made using a custom shader which is only allowed on PC) but making the eyes spin should be easy

so what effects you want, how you want them to animate, what toggles you want, how you want things to be controlled, etc

i want them to come out of the ground
then people here can help you with the technical side of how to achieve it
since thats what he does in my game
he appears at the end and takes his arms out

mangles people and stretches there limbs to creepy proportions
these arms can glitch too!
and this is what they are suppose to do.

in a way, he has extremely powerful telekinesis
his second toggle is his sword where it just.. forms in his hands
its a glowing saber with wires all over it with a red glowing trail
vermillion himself is all black and has a red glowing outline, along with his arms. but his sword is entirely cosmic reflective red
he also would have expressions which would be the easiest
his eyes just give off his emotions
this is the inspector for the collider station on my Gogo loco flight prefab. Would anything need changing in it such as the player enter location?

witch is the hardest to make in my opinion
i dont think you need to change anything in the station, the only thing you need to do with the prefab is put the head in the rotation constraint (on pc)

Hey can someone help me with gesters with fake index hands, I can't seem to make the gesters work when for example I link up angry face with fist

Hello, theres an avatar I'm working on which has a unique quirk. the arms stem from the chest and connect to the head. in the past I have used Aim constraints to mimic some kind of IK however this leads to it "tearing" when I move my head too far to one side. I have tried using FinalIK to fix this issue however FABRIK Limb IK and any others don't work in-game. I would appreciate any ideas as to what I could possibly do to Mimic an IK or Minimize the Hand becoming detatched from the rest of the arm

@placid mica blendshapes dont require saving, fact that its different between preview and playmode/game means smth actively animates them in your FX layer
use Gesturemanager or av3emulator to have properly working controller in playmode
(or theyre used in visemes/blink in descriptor, if its not fx layer)

G'morning! Joined specifically because I'm having a little issue with some bones. For some reason, the thumbs are screwing up majorly when trying to import from blender into unity. This thumb has been driving me up the wall for the past day, and honestly I'm kind of stumped on what it could be.
For some reason the thumb isn't folding inwards with the rest of the hand when imported into unity. The bones work just fine with the respective puppets in blender as they should, but within unity the thumb curls over the index instead of going inwards like the rest.
is there any way to remove physbones without downloading questtools?

Well unity does not use any sort of puppet system for one thing.
Try resetting the bone rolls in blender
physbones are nothing but scripts (found in the inspector on the object that holds them, which is usually in a subcategory of the avi or directly on the bone in the armature)
So enable it on the state before the animation state, and then disable it on the state afterwards?

What zero said. If you're working with a premade asset then it would either be in a separate physbone object or attached to the bone in tha armature it's controlling

Humanoid bones are specific bones in your armature that are controlled by IK. Your legs would be humanoid bones

if you want to animate your character's skirt, you wouldn't want to parent all the skirt bones to your hip bone, it's better to just add another bone to your hip, where the skirt bones could be parented to this newly created bone
