Okay so basically, I haven’t had my quest for very long. Maybe 4 months or so. When I first got it, it worked great. But after like a month it’s started to be very slow. I can’t load into worlds quickly, I have to wait like 3-10 minutes. When I join crowded worlds it lags like crazy, avatars don’t load in and sometimes it even kicks me out.

Is this the oculus’s memory? Do I need to clear space? Or what do I do

ive already set the Encode Resolution Width to 2784, disabled Nvidia in game overlay, Opt out of Public Test Channel and have selected my Nvidia processor in the control panel. Im running out of ideas lol

The Oculus Quest 2 has built in speakers they're not great though. There is also a 3.5mm audio port on both sides of the VR headset if you want to use your own pair of headphones.

If you logged in with oculus before, it won't change.

It's possible you may need to sign out and back in to your quest, using Facebook instead of oculus.

For what it's worth, it sounds like when you merged the 2 your quest didn't cleanly add your Facebook account, so it can't log in to Oculus correctly. The "Oculus" option on the Quest version should never, AFAIK, prompt for username & password. Only the "VRChat" option.

In other news:

Anyone know how to troubleshoot VRChat connection issues? I've reset my modem, port forwarded to the Quest using https://help.vrchat.com/hc/en-us/articles/360062658793-Which-ports-do-I-need-to-open-for-VRChat-, and reinstalled the app, only for it to hang on "loading".

i’m new to vrchat on quest but i’ve seen avatars with weapons and such. can the quest users also get weapons? are they locked to certain avatars or are there weapons you can add to a avatar of your choice?

depends on who made the avatar, if youre wanting to make a custom, youd either commission one or use unity to make your own

gotcha, i was in a world last night testing out vr chat and it had like reaaally bad looking avatar to pick from. i was hoping to find some anime, or video game characters but most seemed like cartoon ones.

Without knowing the exacts of what you may have done to get on their nerves, it's hard to pinpoint why they did that. Though they have been known to shut down headsets with little to no reason, which may or may not be due to an algorithm they have set up to detect perps.

My VRChat defaults to show everyones fallback avatar. I have to go into their user settings to see their actual avatar. How can I make it default to their actual avatar?

Simple:You don’t. It’s purposeful so that you don’t have your frames docked or your game crash instantly. Figure out who to trust and show theirs, otherwise don’t bother.

So I switched motherboards recently, and now my quest 2 dies while using Oculus link. I'm not exactly sure what settings I need to mess with anyone know? Motherboard is a strix b550f using the oculus Link cable.

Hi I play one quest and play Vrchat but I keep having to tap on people and press an eye icon to see there actual avatar. Is there another way we here I just automatically see everyone’s Savoyard and would Pc do the same or does it download the avatars?

It’s for safety and to make sure your quest or pc don’t explode. Unfortunately I don’t think there’s a way to change everyone’s avatars all at once for either platform

link is bugging out again. quest recognizes it's "charging" to my pc but doesn't link to my pc. was working fine 2 minutes ago until i pulled my headset off to grab some water ... this is the second time it's happened anad i had to buy a whole new cable for it ://
