You can make a headstrap by making a ribbon or duct tape, stick it to itself so there's no sticky side, and just make a mockup of a headstrap

Remove the tape and use some sandpaper to rough up the surface of the broken areas. You can do a number of things here!

Do a full duct tape wrap and add plenty of supports kinda like a head net.

You can also get a thing of super glue (be super careful! Wear gloves! Put a plastic bag over your headset!

Rough up the broken surfaces, and apply the super glue, and hold it for 30 seconds be very still!

Epoxy can work too but it takes a while to set, but it's muuuuuuch stronger (it can hold my front grill of my car on going 80 with a good headwind!)

If all else fails, use popsicle sticks, and make a sort of splint, and tape up the splint around it.

It won't fit perfectly (super glue would be the best!) but it will get you through

Other adhesives you can try: rubber cement, contact cement, maaaaybe wood glue, I wouldn't hold hope for hot glue buuuut if you use it with a duct tape brace it will work alright.

Super glue will actually fix it. It's not just a glue. It actually chemically bonds things together, not just physically like Elmer's or wood glue.

Super glue essentially kinda remelts the plastic back together.

Epoxy does the same but is far stronger, but also way messier.

Dollar general should sell super glue for under 5$ for the most expensive stuff.

Flexible metal would probably be an alloy. Tin foil would be next to useless

I finally got my extra b100 battery pack for the bobovr S3 pro. Got the new C3 case coming too so I'll have the complete setup for the quest 3.

Took a month the get the S3 and 7 weeks to get the extra battery they are so far on backorder

With good reason though its by a mile the best headstrap on the market and those batteries are really great. 2 of them and I got the dock to charge them and with the dock to charge the quest 3 itself, every time I want to use it I'm set to play as long as I like and the S3 is comfortable enough to wear for hrs on end no problem.

You wouldn't believe how strong these batteries are they ain't going nowhere but are super easy to take off and put on you don't even have to take the headset off you just pop it off and can practically just literally drop it in and the magnets just suck it onto the strap. Very well designed.

I'm one of the first to get the new C3 carrying case design specifically for the quest 3 with the S3 pro strap attached. This thing is premium. The top detaches completely, has a spot for the controllers and an extra b100 battery pack so it holds 2 batteries one on the device the other in the magnetic holder. Very nice case and fit the S3 perfect. I just could not be happier with the S3 pro and this case just makes it that much nicer.

In the hypothetical, which according to the VRC Staff isn't occuring, in the event that polycounts was capped on the Quest, it wouldn't be "downsizing". The Quest just can't currently handle that amount of polygons on several avatars.

It already lags with Avatars hidden on the Among Us Game map, which is quite optimized.

Gamedev wise, the hypothetical polycount is actually higher than PC's "very poor" mark.

Very poor on Quest, if I recall correctly, is above 40k polygons. The proposed limit is at 100k.

Uploading 100k on Quest is already heavily looked down upon.

The Quest was never a "quality" platform.

If you'd like to use toggles, you'll need to optimize your polycounts.

Edge dissolving and Decimation is your friend with that.

Having many different outfits would still be supported. You would just need to optimize the meshes.

Which I must repeat, the VRC devs have stated that this update wasn't ever officially mentioned.

Or rather, never came from them.

I haven't any idea where you got the information from but the VRC team says it is wrong.

But I do suggest that if you're already uploading 100k avatars, that you optimize your polycounts for the sake of other players in your lobby.

(and so your avatar can be seen by other players instead of your fallback.)

It isn't too hard to optimize to 100k. All of my avatars are higher than poor, for example.

I separate my "gimmicks" on separate avatars, though, so I can stay within the "good" performance range.

I do wonder what my avatars look like to Quest users, though.

I always combine Materials and equalize Texeldensity so that I can keep them as low as possible.

Trust me. I want my stuff to be visible on Quest. It currently isn't, as I'm waiting for the Constraints feature to be ported to Quest. I understand the frustration with working with Quest Limitation.

Polycount + Materials stuff is just something that one should be careful with, as not minding what you're doing can lead to nobody actually seeing your avatar due to performance ranks and stuff.

slimevr works fine on PC with virtual desktop. if you have less than 5 trackers, id recommend using only a hip tracker or combining it with standable to get the other trackers faked

Sound was removed because people were using modded SDKs which is against vrc TOS. And they weren’t removed without an explanation they literally stated because it was from modded SDKs

deadzone basically makes it so if you're getting stick drift depending on how bad its moving it backwards you increase the section of the joystick that's "dead" so it wont count as you moving it in that section, id say try at 20%-ish and just raise it more if you're still seeing drift but if that doesnt work it'll need a cleaning/repairing :(

It actually asked me that just a few times ever. The Quest Link option pops up every time but not the "do you trust this device or not" option, which is a problem because I cant transfer my recordings to my pc if I cannot tell it to trust my pc

So i joined VRC for the first time in months and all of my friends and avatars etc were gone. i’ve spent a few days on the issue (logging in and back in seeking help from quest etc) and finally just gave up and said this would be a good reset. Please help i got my quest pro recently and i have tried everything to get the quest link app aka the oculus app to work. i have tried everything from factory reseting my vr to removing the remote headset dll and when i do that it works but i need that to connect to my headset. my problem is that is say Cant reach meta quest services.

Download size, probably because it costs VRChat, primarily to send the data to everyone loading the avatar.

Uncompressed, because people don't have a lot of RAM or VRAM and 20 users in a single world isn't unusual, and since VRChat, rationally, assumes worst case scenario performance wise, 20 * 500MB would be 10GB of RAM, in theory, it will be larger in reality.

Not having enough RAM/VRAM is what kills performance harder than anything else.

I say this as I keep trying to join the same instance and I get kicked off numerous times and onetime my whole screen went black and refused to do anything. Reloading my graphic drivers also did nothing. So yeah that’s fun.

And the Quest 3 does not have a drastic amount of more RAM, only 2 GB.

The "too many avatars" error is less common on Quest 3.

In the end, VRChat simply want to treat the Quest 3 as a buffer generation (make performance good for users of the Quest platform, which it straight up wasn't), when Quest 4 comes out they might up the limits.

People use modded SDKs to go above the 10mb limit and it’s annoying. Someone did that with an avi and it was 150mb and almost crashed my game when it loaded in

we've had this argument in android general and android dev too many times and this is the quest channel, i dont wanna flame war here....
genuine tip is just to give optimizing in blender a shot, and dont be scared to at least try making a simple fallback from one you already have

The limit is to prevent crashing, if an Avis to big it just ruins the game play.

you can make avatars still look great within 15000 polygons, especially when retopologized
subtle detail loss, with 1/6th the polys (ignore the normals)

If they are having issues then they should take more time to optimize it. I have optimized Avis that still look good with plenty toggles.
