The fix for me is to hit the power button on the side of your headset twice and it usually turns the sound back on. This trick also helps with having 15 thousand avatars stuck as blue diamonds all around you lol.

Hey, fellow Quest users! Did you know you can listen to your favourite music while playing VRChat? How, you ask?

• Play VRChat
• Press the Meta button on your right Touch controller to open the system menu
• Open the Meta web browser and go to Spotify or YouTube or any other music/video site and play some music
• Go to your Quest system notifications
• You should be able to see a notification from the Meta web browser with the music/video you've just played
• Click on the three tiny dots on that notification
• Select Play
• Go back to VRChat and your music will play in the background!

You will be able to hear all other VRChat sounds, like voices of people. If the world you're in plays its own music, just mute the World audio in the VRChat audio settings.

Press the power button once ( not hold down), then press again so it turns on. This fixed my issue on Q3, and helped others on Q2. @hard harness

Hello, sorry, not exactly VRChat related, but maybe someone knows how to solve my issue:

I'm trying to play Phasmophobia on Quest 3 PCVR.
Launching through Steam VR directly - Works great, fine visuals without stuttering, but audio never plays through Quest headset. It can play through PC as usual, but when Quest 3 is chosen as an output audio device (in every place I could possibly set this up) there's no audio. I've found some info on Steam forum and Reddit that I should be using a "Steam audio" device in Windows Sound Settings, but it's not there (not even disabled, the driver just isn't installed)

Launching through Airlink > Phasmophobia directly with Steam closed - Game just opens on PC and Phasmophobia on Quest is stuck on loading the game. It just opens it as usual, but on PC

Launching through Airlink > SteamVR > Phasmophobia - Steam Home works great. There's audio, no stutters, great visuals. But then I open Phasmo and there is audio, but lots of stutters of somewhat oval screen and some visual glitches making it unplayable.

Basically these are my options now:
Play without headset audio.
Play with headset audio, but with terrible stutters.

Tried forcing -vrmode oculus on Phasmo, nothing changed.
Everything's updated.
SteamVR bitrate - 350 (max, also tried 100)
SteamVR res - 100% (instead of default 150% that created stutters at the beginning)
AirLink bitrate - 200 (max, also tried 35 and 100, didn't notice anything changing lol)

Hours wasted and finally gave up. Any ideas? Thank you very much.

Edit. Made it. Downloaded and manually installed virtual audio Steam drivers and I ran the game through SteamVR app directly. Works like a charm.

Apparently sometimes Steam/SteamVR fails to download and install audio drivers for SteamVR. They are supposed to be installed during the first launch of SteamVR and they didn't because I had a Valve index Headset during the first launch, so they didn't have to be installed since the headset was on the cable.

advice I can give; most people I know on android don't show very poor avatars in public lobbies, (at least most of my friend group doesn't), so be careful making very poor, and keep it within reason in case of hard limits coming up and for others who may hide your avatar for fps

i tried quest vrchat after being pc and mobile phone only for some time, tbh, quest 2 is very good if you have unoptimized avatars hidden = =,,

in small lobbies, at least. i kept above 40fps with just medium and good rank showing

to me, Quest feels like a Steam Deck, in that its for when you just wanna click play on the game for a bit, maybe an hour or until the battery drains, and not wanting to deal with having to turn your full setup on.. its soo nice, being one click from playing instead of slowly calibrating and setting up all the full body and SteamVR stuffs

Hey so I can't use vrc anymore?? At first I couldn't login. Then the application itself to refuse to open. Now the game won't even load for me. anyone in here know of a fix for quest randomly disconnecting itself from the pc? ive seen older posts saying that playing below the 80% charge mark fixes this but havent had any luck there, all my drivers are up to date ive bought several new cords to see if the issue was with those and it wasnt, my 3.0 port is perfectly fine and ive tried doing quest restarts and updates aswell as secured my cord in place so that there should be no movement anywhere near where it plugs into the port. its been happening to me for a year or two now but has been getting really bad lately for some reason

ive contacted oculus support about this and was told that i should update my drivers and after telling them that ive done that was told that i should take my old one in for a checkup and repairs or buy a new headset entirely so no dice there :/

If that doesn’t work stepping out of ur boundary, covering ur sensors, turning lights off (aka losing tracking) and then lettin it recalibrate usually fixes it

Virtual Desktop and SteamLink has a more direct connection to SteamVR (only matters if you are using that version) so they do get better performance.

But what makes Virtual Desktop so liked is that it is feature rich and listing just the features I care about:

• You can easily control your PC just as if you were sitting at it, even if SteamVR fails to open.
• It passes through IOBT so you can have tracked elbows and chest for free with a Quest 3 (with Quest 2 or Quest Pro you only get estimated elbows and chest) and estimated legs, like standable.
• It passes through hand tracking so when VRChat releases hand tracking on PC you'll have that working day one, something that might never work with Airlink/Link, at least not out of the box.

It is the enthusiast tool basically.

There might be videos, but they will likely be old and show older SlimeVR UI.

Just need to setup the server, connect the phones to it using owotrack and then use the OSC tracker feature to get it to communicate with the Quest version of vrchat.

On Quest, yeah probably someday, the notice for it has been up for more than a year now.
Doubt they are just going to one day turn it off entirely though, they'll either just not allow it on new versions, like the Android and IOS phone versions do, or set (or have set) a high cap that in one or two Quest generation will seem more sensible, which would be an indirect way of "removing" very poor.

If it's one that you didn't upload (just one you found in the game) then that probably means the person who made/uploaded it made a mistake, in which case there's not much you can do to fix it aside from using a different avatar

There are a few avatar search worlds you can use to search for specific characters or types of avatars, but they don't have everything. Some things are best found by going to random avatar worlds or cloning avatars off of other people

Tell them to open their quick menu (the smaller rectangle one that is attached to your hand), then point their other hand at you and press their trigger button. This will open a menu where they can take actions regarding the player selected (friend, block, mute, etc). At the top left under your profile, there should be 3 icons: an eye, an eye crossed out, and a shield. Click on the eye icon

Other people have to manually enable your avatar if it is performance blocked, which most avatars are on quest

You will have to do this for the majority of people if you play on quest, but for PC this is usually not an issue

Just throwing this out there. Why are we basically the minorities of the vrchat universe

We don't get any cool stuff and the cool stuff we got from mods way back when was taken from us. Like avatar audio for example. We had that shit for like a couple months and then the "security" update came around and took it from us.

Audio was never allowed on quest avatars. People used modded sdks (not clients) which have ALWAYS been against TOS to put them in the game. Vrchat just permanently disabled them on any avatars that got by those restrictions. Being a quest player isn't a "minority". Lower end hardware means that you will have more restrictions on performance related stats. If not, then you would crash every 2 seconds because of how low the quest memory is, and you would have like 5 fos and screen glitching bc of grabpass and otherwise heavy shaders. The "cool stuff" you're talking about isn't the innovative stuff, it's the performance heavy stuff. There's plenty of creativity and innovation in quest avatars and worlds. And also, as far as I'm aware, modding the vrc client for standalone has always been difficult. There were mods for the pc client, but those were taken away with EAC. That has nothing to do with quest. The only reasonable complaint you could make about the social status of quest users is that a few snobbish people who have no life think they are better than you for having a good PC. But those are the same kinds of people who think trust rank actually matters and will block people for it. Just have fun and make friends. If you want something cool on quest? Make it yourself. Some things are necessarily limited by the capabilities of the hardware, but other things are not. The vrc team is actively working on bringing more features to quest (like developing vrc constraints to replace unity constraints) as well as making standalone vrc more optimized and playable

I just wanna point out the whole crashing thing. I rarely ever crashed before the security update. It wasn't until after the update things started bugging for me. Avatar audio and things like it never actually lagged my game or dropped my fps. The only things that did were the actual crasher clients. I've been waiting since that update for quest avatar audio to eventually make a return because it made the game more fun for me and my friend groups. Without it playing on quest is quite boring. I don't quite understand the lagging argument because nobody I knew were lagging from audio. A couple people found the audio to be a little annoying but most people I met loved the audio because it was cool and something us questies had never had before. The avatars I see everywhere I go sometimes have good shading, good texturing, good rendering, and good effects. But it all falls flat because there's a lack of audio to go with those effects. And this has been a big issue for me and my friend groups. I just wish we had that feature so we could be just a little more like PC users so they can stop bragging about how much money they spent on a big box of colorful lights with annoying ass buttons.

At the moment I am pretty sure there is no native support, they first did, but it hurt game performance for every quest user, Meta's fault, then they made it a separate version, that I think they said "less than 2 digit" used, so it wasn't worth it.

So right now it just doesn't work at all standalone.

On my right controller the trigger is glitched I can't do a fist yet the button is being pressed. I go to my quest home and see the finger is not pressing on the trigger yet I'm clicking on it. Is there a way to fix? It only seems to effect vrc where all other games trigger works fine

Got the S3 pro today along with a face pad made from that same type of pleather. I love this thing it’s so comfortable I can wear it for hours without any issues, and that swappable battery pack is great the strong magnets make it super secure and very easy to swap in and out.

It comes with 1 5000mah battery the new U100 ones are a little bit thicker I think and are 10,000mah

the way they just pop on and off so easy is great it just comes right off with a tiny bit of pressure, but they are on there really secure. you could swap it yourself while still wearing it

I really recommend that Nexigo dock as well, comes with the rechargable batteries and new controller battery covers than turn your controllers into rechargable so they charge when you set them on the dock. It's low profile too.
