I have a question, I have two friends that are on quest however only one can see YT video urls now, and the one in question that can't see it hasn't been able to see it even with the nex redirect link added on, is it an issue with the the current allotted memory perhaps? I was referring to before the patch with the nex link that they couldn't see it, and after (without the nex link) they still can't see a YT video play now after the patch, but, my other friend can see it just fine, so I have no idea if it's a setting or a memory issue with the lower priced headset, they have all the needed settings properly configured so I have no idea what's the issue cause both of my friends compared their menus and concluded they were exactly the same in the configuration, so all 3 of us are stumped to as what the problem is for my friend who can't see/watch along with the one who can see it

Hey, sorry about the late response. There are literally trillions of combanations of PC parts, budget for a really decent PC especially for VR, In this market i would estimate about $850 USD at least, $500 USD if you're willing to just upgrade down the road and cheap out on some parts now. It's a bit of a process which is why i suggested DM's so we're not hogging up this channel. There are prebuilts that exist but you have labor and upsell costs that get in the way. If you have the knowledge or a place that can get it put together, I would do that instead.

Well, it's a quest. You're running an a mobile chip. It's a neat device, but its meant to give out a decent experience, if you want to get a bit serious, you need the processing power of a VR ready PC

Great to see Imposters are finally coming. Gone are the times when all that Quest users can see is a standard fallback. That'll help a lot with crashing too, because you dont necessarily need to click on "Show Avatar" anymore just to download a 200k+ polygons avatar which will lag your game.

Does anyone have any benchmarks for how much better the quest pro runs vrchat compared to the quest on average? Was planning on picking up a pro, partially so I can test quest versions of the worlds I'll be making.

I'm sorry, i just can't stand constantly seeing people giving random error analysis that usually are wrong (happens quite a lot in this server). Crashing is basically never caused by bad wifi. Wifi has nothing to do with how a software runs. At worst you have slow downloads and high ping but that's it. If bad wifi would be a cause for crashing then i would have had to crash a fuck ton of times when I did play via mobile data lol (waiting 10 minutes for an avatar to load)

Get a Kiwi cable

They're very good, and significantly less expensive than the meta link cable.

Most reviews I've seen for comparisons put it in the 8-10/10 range, with the meta cable under 5/10

Great flexibility, 5gb/s, a free attachment to make sure it stays connected to the quest 2, and a few more things.

But it's overall better than the meta cable, which has some of the price as just the brand name.

KIWI are also the guys that sell the comfort features, battery attachment to make it last 5+ hours on standalone, and a couple more things

About the settings for showing avis. I know verypoor can't be autoshown, but can poor be autoshown on Quest, or is medium as far as it goes?
Can you set it to see only excellent? And only good/above? On PC, medium is the minimum.

But...back to my question. based on this and help I got in avatar general. I do think the lowest Quest users can go is medium. They can't select to only show excellent/good, unles their trust rank settings turn of the avi for every trust rank. They can lower it to poor too so, so that's going to be my aim for stuff I want auto showing.

The option is called "Block poorly optimized avatars". Quest users can set two options:

• "Poor and below", which means that all avatars get are ranked poor and very poor are hidden, an avatar must be at least medium to be showm

• "Very poor", which means only very poor avatars are hidden

I’ve been playing vrc on quest for months no problem. As of today, it loads up, goes to my home world (even does this in default home world). It immediately shows a black screen with three white dots then exits the app. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling. It closes so fast that i’m not able to clear my cache. Any ideas?

That might be just a quest issue, I’d try other games/apps see if it has the same issues.

If you do have another account on your quest I’d try using the one that’s the “admin” of the device

I know that issue had happen to me when I needed updates, or when I wasn’t on “admin”.

I would wait, VRChat on Quest 3, running it standalone, should be more stable.

If you are willing to wait the ~2 months, it looks like the Quest 3 will be better in every way. While the Quest 2 is a great first headset and very cheap its hard to recommend it when its about to be obsoleted.

My VrChat has been freezing up frequently for minutes each time. Freezing up in the loading screen and when I do get past loading screen it takes me to a world and says VrChat had a major problem and to rejoin and starts freezing up again more. I tried to switch to the beta but that did not work. I tried reseting my headset multiple times but nothing working.

Yeah, the built in link resolver isint quite working from my testing so videos don't play. Tested iwaSync, VideoTXL, ProTV and the Unity player and they all come up with errors

like the link resolver "is" working but resolves to a dead link so thus no video for quest 😦

direct mp4 links and other link resolvers still work tho, so basically we're back to old video player behavior on Quest

Which kinda sucks because I was ready to make Tanuki Tunes crossplay with PC and Quest but imma have to wait till this is fixed

The better fix anyway is to make the media player automatically have the pre link inputed so everything for both quest and PC is automatically formates correctly, I know of a few worlds that do this, works fine every time

Those link websites are pretty decent, I know a friend who’s made his own before, I don’t know how it could be done for the VRC devs to have any sort of link put in the player be automatically resolved in a similar fashion, but who knows

You can make your avatar quest only if you wanted. But if you want the same avatar to be both pc and quest just copy the id for the avatar you want and paste that I’d in and upload.

Both uploads are different for each version

If your avatar right now is ready to go you can just switch to quest and press upload

If your avatar isn’t quest ready I’d advise making a copy of your unity project and make a quest version

Unless your world is using a video player from SDK2, it has nothing to do with the video player and just that VRChat has broken its attempt at allowing Quest players to videos like PC users can.

When they manage to figure out why it isn't working your world will work.

Quest battery’s die over time. I’d recommend playing with it without headset plugged in, not leaving it plugged in for to long either. Mines been charging weird Becuase I’ve had it for so long

The headsets probably just yknow dying lithium batteries wear down over time so either you replace the battery and risk breaking the headset or buy a new headset

My experience is terrible so far. i have 6gb+2gb RAM and 12 android and this is impossible to play. 80 percent of the time the game glitches and you can only wait and skip everything others say. my voice also glitches so much that it is impossible to understand me.

the world you stay should be veery optimized so you can at least talk somehow. although you wil experience glitches still sometimes, like 5 percent of the time

I need some help with setting up my gaming laptop and quest 2 for Vr chat. As of recently I ordered and received my Asus TUF F15 (I recommend it if you’re looking to game on a budget). I had installed 32gb or ram (originally had 8) all while having a 2050 and an intel i5-11400F. Specs are good and I downloaded and updated the necessary software and drivers for the machine and deleted all my bloat. According to the oculus app, I get a pop up indicating that my laptop doesn’t meet the updated minimum requirements. Moreover, when I’m playing Vr chat through steam Vr (and potentially oculus) I usually idle at around 30 to 70 fps. Conversely, when playing VRC on desktop mode I sit at around 100+ fps. Is there anything that I can do to remedy this, or do I need to wait for an update/hot fix?

There's a couple things that you can do about that. What you can do is log off and sign back into the oculus desktop app. And another solution you can try is to update your drivers for your computer's bluetooth and USBs through device manager

If none of those work, I would also reccommend power cycling your quest 2

Whoever did the most recent update with vrc needs to get they’re shit together I swear, y’all say that y’all are gonna make it better for quest users and that the lagging and crashing is gonna get better. Well it hasn’t. Like Jesus, figure it out or start getting people who will actually work correctly.
Been dealing with the same thing for months, and I’m not the only one. My boyfriend and friends haven’t been able to just simply load into worlds. You can't simply just get more memory, the Quest 2 only has 6GB of RAM.
The only way of getting more RAM is by getting a better Quest, the Quest 3, when it comes out, is supposedly going to have 7.5 or 8GB of RAM.
And the Quest Pro has a total of 12GB.

Honestly at this point vrc is shit, it was way better back then, we didn’t crash, run out of ram or anything like that, we even had the option for real-time shadows, but now they’re packing it full of shit, useless features that apparently people want, I get they’re fun but add better ways to make things, update your shitty SDK’s without all of these bad limitations, bump up avatar sizes to 20mb and add audio back! When it was bypassed everything was fine, there wasn’t any issues where people would crash if too many audio sources were in the same instance, if so you’d crash when other people joined ( voices count as audio sources right? If not then don’t mind that )

I find this funny mainly because I never crashed during the modded sdk era, and even before anti cheat update. Only time I crashed was because of client users, and it was rare. I used to even show everyone’s avatars, now I only show anyone who had good optimization, which is a given as that’s how you crash most of the time.

I only get memory issues if I decide to join a world that’s above 75mb when loading it first time, and if I show very very very poor avatars.

Ok, you may try to adjust your refresh rate to 80 or 90. If you haven't, I'd also try playing vrc through the oculus app and not steam vr. See if you see a difference

It says low memory not low space. Memory is relating to the RAM which isn’t a fixable issue. The storage of ur headset doesn’t have to do with it

Sometimes clearing cache can help or restarting ur headset
