They are quite good, good quality overall (excluding the joystick that is literally the same from the Quest 2 controllers), stellar haptics, last 8-10 hours (mostly dependent on vibration strength) and of course will always track, unless you are covering the cameras directly.

However, as is common with Meta devices, updates cause some people to experience bugginess with them, some of them overheat, most recent update apparently makes the tracking stutter. (I wouldn't know because I am highly wary of any Quest updates)
I still do not think they fixed the Wifi 6 issue when used with a Quest 2, meaning you either turn off Wifi 6, or just turn off "OFDMA" (I think it was)

No i see them as basic avatars. The only avatars that are shown are the friends avatars. Wich means i see exactly which avatars my friends currently have except the pc only ones

I would recommend going into your settings and switching everything but voice off for everyone but friends

Unfortunately people still work around the fallback avatars and figure out a way to crash quest users

Ive been trying find an updated video since the one I followed is older and the settings have changed a lot since then. But I can literally go sit in black cat n be completely fine for hours as long as I don’t unblock anyone’s avis unless I trust them (and don’t unblock too many at one time)

Airlink starts to lag in first 5 minutes after its start. Low fps, partly black screen and movement delay. Wifi status is sometimes 2 out of 3 lines in a built-in Quest software. My PC uses an ethernet cable so I don't think it's a PC problem

Steam account login for VRChat is meant as a temporary, quick way for someone to log into the game and try it out. It will only work on PC. If you want to actually have an account that moves across platforms and allows you to upload content, you will need to make a VRChat account

Hey, just a quick question I use a quest 2 for PC vr and when I open VRC my hands in game do not move, I can move them around just no gestures can be made, the controllers in the BR menu still work fine, and all the buttons move, it’s just in game, is there any way I can fix this?

I'm not sure where this goes... this is mainly a comment/suggestion on the OSC FBT implementation on the quest. As far as I know mocopi is the only plug and play solution for standalone FBT, and while the mocopi app update on the 18th made a massive improvement on latency, sometimes it struggles with dropped OSC frames? I.e. if there's dropped packets or whatever, my leg/body may jerk around as i move?

I don't know if there's a solution to improving that, or if the issue with dropped OSC packets is on the phone side, but maybe if VRC implemented a bit of smoothing (i.e. add an optional maximum delay and interpolate motion between OSC frames given a large enough distance change) it would improve mocopi user's experience!

It's not always the case but some wifis work on a system where they switch from 2G to 5G and it makes it hard for headsets to connect to the wifi, some routers allow you to combine the networks or you can get a wifi extende which can do it automatically

You have to go to setting scroll to the bottom to debug then it should say how much memory you’ve used and next to it it says “clear world cache” what that’ll do is remove the memory of you ever going to the worlds you’ve been to, you’ll still have them saved and everything but you’ll join as if you’ve never been there and then there’s “clear local avatar data” what that does is remove all the toggles you’ve given any avatar you’ll still have them favorited and everything but they’ll go to default (this is all in vrc btw)

There is transparency, it isn't much, but just go through the VRChat/mobile shaders, think it was one of the particle shaders.
It cannot save avatars that need cutout, it only tints.

This is what happens when people port a platform that people can't even optimize for PC and has performance problems for anything that isn't rocking a 4090 to what is basically a glorified smartphone, it's honestly a miracle this game even runs on quest at all when a lot of PCs can barely handle it, best advice I can give is if you're a quest user, don't show every very poor avatar you see, and don't go into instances with more than 10 people, otherwise I guess hope you can find a VR capable PC for a decent price and use link and just hope that low fps is a suitable alternative to crashing. (won't even eliminate it 100% since even PC crashes sometimes)

Very Powerful ones

Both of them can run VR easily, but I don't want any wire nor the bad looking Oculus Rift software that get's slowly discontinued.

That's why I want it on standalone.

Because I wouldn't be able to buy Virtual desktop and such, but I still want the FBT experience.

what would prevent you from using virtual desktop to do steam VR?

and going Quest Standalone would exclude many worlds and avatars from being able to be rendered for you and crashing would happen a lot more frequently

your goofy set up require PC VR anyway to even run

as you have to be running steam VR for The Trackers to even work at all

Why not put a Velcro pad on the top of your Q2 and plonk a tracker on it?

yeah kind of redundant when you have to run steamVR to even use the trackers to begin with, like maybe running steamVR on a low end PC with rendering disabled or something would be plausible but nobody with expensive base station trackers is gonna be doing standalone (kinda like how almost everyone I know with a quest pro uses it for PCVR)

the problem is the amount of ram the quest has which hasn't gotten bigger and allowing bigger Avatar file sizes would allow more RAM to be consumed by the avatar

So I noticed that when I get on and join my home world, my walking is just fine but when I join public instances of other worlds, it wont let me move like im stuck in stationary and I tried switching to holoport but holoport only lets me turn, not walk. Idk how to fix this or if its a new bug or if anyone else is experiencing it or if its just me but idk what to do. And It only works fine when im in private instances. What do i do?

It’ll uninstall all ur games BUT it will keep them you’ll just have to reinstall them Even ones you’ve paid for ur fine as long as you remember ur account info it’ll log ya back in and just need to reinstall games

It’ll also restart all the settings you’ve messed with so you’ll have to redo that to most likely
