Hey on quest 2, so ive been having a problem with vrchat where itll just crash when i try to join a world with 10 or more people in it, i can have all of the avatars hidden but i crash bout 3-4 seconds after joining regardless of my settings being set to the maximum protection. Does anyone know what i can do to fix this? I had this problem before and had another user help me but it seems that the problem has come back. Any help would be great.

Change your safety settings and ensure that you turn off all avatars by default. Reduces likelihood of crashing, only downside is having to manually turn avatars on

go to the settings tab in the quick menu and make sure you are making liberal use of the hide-by-distance system. it ends up saving a lot of resources. personally i have mine set to hide all but nearest 2 in 4 meters, with override if i hit show avatar

Restarted Oculus, got a new error message. Going to see what installing the new drivers will do. These drivers are a few months old and my computer says my current drivers are the latest, so we'll see.

its not explained very well in the menu itself, but theres a setting that was released within the last few months that allows you to automatically hide avatars by count and distance (for instance, you can set it to only show the closest 3 avatars within 5 meters- all other avatars will be replaced with gray diamonds). its singlehandedly made it a lot easier to go to large public lobbies because it wont try to load 30+ fallback avatars

@crude marlin for me VR chat currently is unplayable. Im on the Quest 2, whenever I load in to a world with around 10 people or more I will crash I may be in there for about 2 to 3 seconds maybe five but I will inevitably crash nothing I have done will fix my issue. I have not heard back from vrchat support in days and I do not know what to do anymore. Ive done everything i possibly could too. Uninstalled reinstalled, max safety settings, name plates and icons off, all avatars too, even logged out and back in again, did both the beta and live versions too. Other games work just not vrchat. Put in a tiket 4 days ago heard nothing back im truly lost and upset. I pay for vrc plus and this is what i get ;-;

I honestly don’t even know where to start on the research, I certainly know that stand-alone VR is considerably less powerful, but is a affordable alternative for those with weaker PCs that can’t run PCVR, while also having optional cables that you CAN plug into your pc to give it a bit more power

because not all quest users are having this issue

I'll say that pinging them does naf all and that is true that it may possibly be the case of this, however around these months tend to get more difficult and as well with Christmas coming up there's gonna be MORE people who may also use quest. This will end up giving them more stress too as I belive it's a relatively small team, best we can do is wait and be patient. Others like myself have to wait and as irritating as it is there's not much we can do, by no means am I not understanding of your impatience though. I assume you've sent an email to their support?
